The Maid's Rise to Be a President's Wife-Chapter 247: Don’t Believe in Love
Chapter 247 - Don't Believe in Love
"Don't believe in love, or you'll get hurt!"
These were the last words her mother said to her.
Was her mother predicting that this day would come?
Yiren put the photo frame back into the drawer and took out the bracelet her mother left her. There was a Chinese character "龙 (dragon)" on the pendant.
Mom!
Yiren burst into tears.
After Ji Minze came back, his mother told him that Yiren seemed to be not feeling well. So he went upstairs to see her. When he opened the bedroom door, he saw her crying while holding the keepsake from her mother.
"You're back!" Yiren wiped her tears and put away the bracelet, saying.
"What's wrong with you?" Ji Minze walked over and helped Yiren wipe the tears remaining at the corners of her eyes.
"Nothing. I just suddenly thought of my mom and felt a bit sad," Yiren forced a smile and said. She was lying! She actually lied to hide her vulnerability.
"She's watching over you in heaven. So if you're sad, she'll be sad too," Ji Minze comforted her. He didn't know that Yiren already knew about Tang Lei's existence. Because not many people knew about his relationship with Tang Lei, and those who did wouldn't take the initiative to tell Yiren about Tang Lei.
Yiren nodded.
"You haven't had dinner yet, right? Wait until I take a shower, and then we'll have dinner together," Ji Minze kissed Yiren on the forehead, let go of her, and walked into the bathroom.
Yiren watched Ji Minze's back as he walked into the bathroom.

How long was he going to keep this from her?
I love you! So if you're going to hurt me, please don't hurt me too deeply. Don't make me lose the courage to keep loving you!
Yiren said these words in her heart to Ji Minze in the bathroom.
She changed into a simple casual outfit and sat on the sofa in the bedroom, waiting for Ji Minze to go to dinner together.
In the hotel,
Ke'er had been discharged from the hospital. She looked in good spirits.
Yiren looked at her and thought she was so much like the girl in the photo.
"President Ji, your secretary is very beautiful," Ke'er said to Ji Minze. For some reason, she felt a strong sense of jealousy towards Yiren, as if Yiren had stolen the most important thing from her. They should be meeting for the first time.
"You're too kind! I should be the one saying this to Mr. Ryan. He's very lucky to have such a beautiful fiancée like you," Ji Minze glanced at Ke'er and said.
She gave him the feeling that the person sitting in front of him was Tang Lei!
When Yiren heard this, she couldn't help but tremble all over. At that moment, she was so sensitive that she thought these were Ji Minze's heartfelt words. Dongfang Hao noticed Yiren's change and looked at her with a concerned expression.
Yiren forced a smile at him, as if to tell him that she was okay.
"Haha! Thank you!" George Ryan laughed heartily and readily accepted the compliment. It was obvious that he loved Ke'er very much.
"Mr. Ryan said that Miss Ke'er is also Chinese. I wonder where her ancestral home is?" Ji Minze asked.
"Honey, what's an ancestral home?" Ke'er said with a smile, hugging George Ryan's arm. It sounded like a joke.
"It's the place where you were born," George Ryan patted Ke'er's hand indulgently and then turned to Ji Minze to explain. "I hope President Ji doesn't mind. Ke'er once had a head injury, so there are some things she can't remember."
"Amnesia!" The word popped into Yiren's mind, and she blurted it out.
"Yes! That's why I brought her to China this time, hoping it will help her regain her memory and find her family," George Ryan said.
Ji Minze was speechless. If what George Ryan said was true, then Ke'er was very likely to be Tang Lei. And at this moment, she was right in front of them, just forgetting them because of her amnesia.
Dongfang Hao let out a low exclamation. Looking at Ke'er, he simply couldn't accept that she might be the Tang Lei they had been looking for for years.
"Mr. Dongfang Hao, what's wrong with you?" Ke'er asked in confusion.
"Sorry! I accidentally stepped on his foot just now," Yiren made an excuse for Dongfang Hao.
"So that's it. It seems Mr. Dongfang is a bit fragile," Ke'er said with a smile. Then she turned to George Ryan and said, "Honey, can I go out and have a stroll by myself tomorrow?"
"If you want to go out, let James go with you," George Ryan said.
"No! James isn't familiar with this place," Ke'er refused. She thought it was boring to have James follow her every time she went out. "If you're really worried, you can let him accompany me. He's from here and should be familiar with the place," Ke'er pointed at Ji Minze. She had an inexplicable sense of familiarity with him.
Minze, please don't!
Yiren pleaded in her heart. She didn't expect Ke'er to directly ask Ji Minze to accompany her shopping.
"Ke'er, I'll ask someone else to accompany you. President Ji is very busy," George Ryan said with a headache. He had spoiled her too much usually, letting her have her way in everything, so she was being so willful.
"Can you spare some time to accompany me shopping?" Ke'er looked directly at Ji Minze and asked.
"I rarely go shopping and I'm not very familiar with the place. If Miss Ke'er doesn't mind, I can ask Yiren to accompany you around," Ji Minze glanced at Yiren and said.
"If President Ji is busy, then forget it. I'll just stay in the hotel tomorrow," Ke'er pouted and said.
Ji Minze was taken aback. Was Ke'er really Tang Lei? If not, why was Ke'er's personality and tone of speech so similar to Tang Lei's?
Wasn't Tang Lei always so willful? She always had to get what she wanted.
"If Miss Ke'er doesn't mind that I'm not familiar with the place either, then there's no problem for me to be the tour guide," Ji Minze compromised.
"Great! It's a deal then! You guys continue chatting. I'll go back to my room first," Ke'er said happily. Then she kissed George Ryan in front of everyone and turned to leave.
