The Maid's Deception-Chapter 25 - 24: Becoming Addicted
******
The afternoon passed in a strange haze. Aria returned to her room, intending to rest as Damien had commanded, but sleep was impossible. Her mind wouldn’t stop spinning.
She pulled out her laptop and tried to focus on research, mapping out the greenhouse locations, studying security protocols, planning her eventual heist. But the words blurred together, meaningless against the weight of everything else.
Her mother was dying.
Damien knew she was lying about something, even if he didn’t know the full extent.
She was falling for him with a terrifying intensity that made rational thought nearly impossible. 𝒇𝙧𝙚𝓮𝔀𝓮𝒃𝙣𝓸𝒗𝒆𝒍.𝙘𝒐𝒎
And tonight, he was going to push their physical relationship even further, binding her to him in ways that would make walking away even more devastating.
You should stop this, a voice in her head whispered. You should end it before it goes any further. Before you’re in so deep you can’t see the surface.
But even as she thought it, she knew she wouldn’t. Couldn’t.
Because some reckless part of her wanted to drown. Wanted to sink so deep into whatever this was with Damien that everything else disappeared.
Even if it meant losing herself completely.
At 6 PM, she started preparing. Showered, taking extra care. Dried and styled her hair, leaving it down as he preferred. Applied subtle makeup...just enough to enhance, not transform.
And at 7:45, she put on the earrings and the necklace, standing in front of her small mirror to examine the effect.
The jewelry was delicate but unmistakable. His marks. His claims. Declarations of ownership that should have made her angry but instead made her feel... wanted. Chosen. His.
"You belong to me."
At exactly 8 PM, she knocked on Damien’s study door.
"Come in, Aria."
She pushed open the door and stepped inside.
The study looked the same as always, but there was something different in the air. An anticipation. An inevitability.
Damien stood by the fireplace, dressed casually in dark slacks and a white shirt with the sleeves rolled up. His eyes traveled over her slowly, taking in the jewelry, the hair, every detail he’d specified.
"Perfect," he said quietly. "Absolutely perfect. Close the door."
She did.
"Lock it."
The click of the lock felt like sealing her fate.
"Come here Serah."
She crossed to him on trembling legs.
Damien’s hands went to her face, tilting it up so he could examine the earrings, the necklace, his marks glinting against her skin.
"Beautiful. You wore everything I told you to wear. Followed every instruction. Do you know what that tells me?"
She couldn’t speak.
"It tells me you’re ready. Ready to surrender completely. Ready to let me take you places you’ve never been." His thumb traced her jaw. "Ready to be mine in every way that matters."
"Damien..."
"Shh. No more talking. Tonight you just feel."
He kissed her softly. "I’m going to make you feel things you didn’t know were possible. And tomorrow, you’re going to realize you can’t imagine going back to who you were before I touched you."
His confidence should have been arrogant. Instead, it was intoxicating.
"Now," Damien said, his voice dropping to that commanding register that made her melt, "take off your clothes. Everything except the jewelry. I want you bare except for my marks."
Aria’s hands went to the hem of her sweater, but they were shaking so badly she fumbled.
"Slowly," Damien instructed, moving to sit in one of the leather chairs. "I want to watch. Want to see every inch of skin as you reveal it."
She pulled her sweater over her head, folding it carefully...needing something to do with her hands, some way to manage the overwhelming vulnerability of being watched so intently.
"The bra next."
She reached behind to unclasp it, letting it fall away.
"Beautiful," Damien murmured, his eyes tracking every movement. "Now the pants."
She unbuttoned her jeans and slid them down, stepping out of them along with her shoes.
Standing there in just her panties and his jewelry, she felt more exposed than she ever had.
"All of it," Damien said. "I want nothing between my eyes and your skin."
She hooked her fingers into the waistband of her panties and pushed them down.
And then she was completely naked except for the necklace and earrings, standing in the middle of his study while he looked at her with an intensity that felt like being consumed.
"Come here."
She crossed to where he sat.
"Kneel."
Her heart hammered as she sank to her knees between his spread legs.
"Tonight," Damien said, his hand sliding into her hair, "I’m going to teach you what it feels like to be worshipped. To have someone devote themselves entirely to your pleasure. To be so thoroughly claimed that you forget you ever belonged to yourself."
His other hand traced the necklace at her throat.
"And you’re going to let me. Because you trust me. Because you want this. Because you’re finally ready to stop fighting what we both know is inevitable."
"What’s inevitable?" she whispered.
"You. Me. This." His hand tightened in her hair, tilting her head back. "Us becoming so tangled together that separating becomes impossible. That’s what’s inevitable, Aria. That’s what’s been inevitable since the moment you walked through my door."
He leaned down and kissed her.....deep and possessive and absolutely claiming.
"Now," he murmured against her lips, "let me show you exactly how thoroughly I plan to own you."
