The Lycan king-Chapter 82
*Leonora*
"I think there’s something wrong with me." I had said. It was not a lie. There was something. Something that made it hard for anyone to care about me.
"What do you mean by that?" He asked and I shook my head. I didn’t know how to vocalize my thoughts and I just sat there staring at the view. "Leo, please talk to me."
"No one ever sticks around. No one really cares about me or what I want. I don’t know but I just feel like nothing is ever about me." I finally answered. I still couldn’t articulate what’s was in my mind. All my thoughts were jumbled up and I couldn’t just streamline them.
"What do you mean no one ever sticks around? What about Bethany and I?" He asked me and I shrugged. "I’m sticking around, Leo. I’m here. If anyone made you feel like you’re not important, just remember that I am here with you because you are important." He assured me and I sighed. "There is something else. What happened earlier?"
"The council members called me for a meeting. They just wanted to talk about children." I answered and he moved closer to me. He held out open arms and I immediately leaned on him, wrapping my arms around his torso.
"How did that make you feel? Do you want me to talk to them?" He asked me as he rubbed my back as his hands held me close to him.
"It’s like they don’t care about my own opinions and feelings. They just want me to start popping children like I’m a machine." I ranted. "No, don’t talk to them. I don’t want you to cause any troubles."
He placed a kiss on my head. "I don’t mind talking to them. I really don’t want you to feel pressured to do anything you are not comfortable with. I really don’t mind waiting until you are ready."
"Really?" I asked looking up at him and he nodded. He placed another kiss on my forehead. "Thank you so much. I think that’s what I wanted to hear."
"Anything for you." He said and I smiled as I rested my head back on his chest. "Who would have thought we would be here like this? If someone had told me last year, I would have called them a liar."
"I guess fate just has its way of bringing people together." I mumbled against his shirt. "I know you told me we shouldn’t discuss this but I really really want to see the witch."
"Why?" He asked me and my heart picked up. "Leo, you know I can feel what you’re feeling. What are you hiding?"
"Okay, there are some things I didn’t tell you about what happened at the cave. It wasn’t important information at the time." I admitted and he let go of me. I pouted and held him tighter.
"Leo, I think I need a bit of space to listen to you." I shook my head as I didn’t want to let go of him. The comfort I felt in his arms was what I needed.
I narrated all my encounters with the witch and I finally opened up about my powers. I also explained my reason for keeping it from him. I just wanted to be sure that I was making the right decision. The witch had told me that I had to choose between good and evil and now it was blatantly clear that Jax was the good one even though there were little streaks of his evil side. Well, it wasn’t so little but he was a good guy.
"So you can heal people?" He asked and I nodded as his hands wrapped around my body. "Can you heal yourself?" I nodded. "Don’t tell anyone about this. Not even Bethany. I don’t want you to become an object for the council to use. Just keep this to yourself as best as you can." 𝒻𝓇𝑒𝘦𝘸𝑒𝒷𝓃ℴ𝑣𝘦𝑙.𝒸ℴ𝘮
"I don’t understand. Isn’t it a good thing that I have the power to heal? So I can’t use it in the case of an emergency?" I asked and he shook his head.
"Leonora, I like you so much and I understand that there would be times when you might use your powers but I don’t want to lose you to the council. Do you want to become a secret weapon?" He asked and I shook my head. "Exactly. They’re not going to listen to whatever you have to say. They will lock you up and the only time you might get a taste of freedom is when you’re using this powers for their own benefit."
When he put it like that, I could see where he was coming from. Right now, I was already feeling like an object and having this power might make it even worse. It wouldn’t be suggestions anymore. They’ll take me by force and use me however they liked.
"Is there any other thing you’re keeping from me?" He asked and I shook my head. I had finally told him everything.
"Oh, I have something." I said and he let go of me. This time I released my hands from its grip and let go of Jax’s body. He adjusted so that he could sit facing me with one leg folded on the couch.
"I like you, Jax. I like you a lot and yeah I know I get-" Jax cut me off by kissing me. I smiled through the kiss as he pulled me closer to him. I pulled away quickly. "You didn’t let me finish."
"You don’t know how I’ve been waiting for you to say that." He said as he placed a kiss on my cheek. "I could tell by your actions how much you liked me but I think I like hearing you tell me how much you like me."
"I’ll just save it for special occasions then. I don’t want you to get used to hearing me telling you how much I like you."
