I felt my body shake and I groaned as my eyes fluttered open. I turned around to see who was the culprit and it was Bethany. She was seated on my bed and it seemed like she was crying. I quickly sat up and she pulled me in for a hug.

"I thought you were gone." She cried into my shoulder. "When you left here that day, the guards said they saw you fall off the cliff. I’m so sorry. When someone said they saw you last night I thought it was a joke." She cried out. I rubbed her back softly as I didn’t know what to say. The things that had happened were so much I didn’t even know if I could bring myself to tell her and relive everything all over again.

Right now, Jax was the only person I could talk to about anything. This was so funny cause he used to be the person I hated the most.

I noticed some girls walking toward us while some were just watching us. I knew they had so many questions to ask me especially since the last time I was here, Jax had come looking for me.

Some of the girls walking towards found an empty bed watching us. Bethany pulled away and cleaned her eyes. "Thank the goddess you’re back."

"I’m sorry if we’re interrupting," one girl started pulling my attention from Bethany. "What is it like being Jax’s mate."

It was like all of time froze. I was at a loss for words and I turned over to Bethany. She didn’t look the least bit surprised and I wondered what had happened here while I was gone.

"I heard that Jax lets you wear his clothes and you both have breakfast and lunch together everyday before you left." She added and I could feel my heart pump faster than before. I could not believe this. After all those years of secrecy. After everything. Was this why Claire sent me down here? To be humiliated? Knowing that Jax doesn’t want me to be his queen and he only wants me to be his mistress.

"What is going on?" I asked and looked over at Bethany. There was a sorry look in her eyes that I honestly didn’t need right now. It just felt like everything was crumbling around me and I had no control over it.

"Jax kind of made it known that you’re his mate. He was running mad when you weren’t here." Bethany explained and I pulled myself out of bed. This was terrible. I pulled my box out from underneath my bed and opened it. I picked up the nearest pants that I could find and I threw it on. I marched to Jax’s room. There was no way I could just let him go Scot free.

I opened the door and paused at the sight before me. There Jax stood in the middle of the room kissing Claire. Was there something I missed? I took a step back and they must have heard my slippers and they both pulled away. Shock covered Jax’s face whereas Claire looked happy, proud in fact.

"I’m so sorry." I said before rushing out of the room. Why was I stupid to think that Jax really felt something for me? I heard his door open as I walked faster. I didn’t want him to catch up with me as I didn’t want to hear whatever explanation he was going to force out. As I got out of the house, I could still hear him coming after me.

"Leo wait! It’s not what it looks like. Wait let me explain." I stopped and turned around to look at him causing my hair to fly around from the breeze.

"Tell me what it looks like! That after last night, I’m coming back to see you locking lips with her? And to make it worse, you told everyone that I’m your mate?! Why? Why do you hate me that much?" I shouted at him, finally freeing myself of all the anger that had been pent up over the last twenty four hours.

"I could never hate you. That’s what you don’t understand. Claire kissed me and I didn’t know what to do." He said and I scoffed, turning back and walking away. I wasn’t stupid. Claire has had a thing for him since time immemorial and he had been choosing not to do anything about it. Jax walked over and blocked me from moving. I could see people at the staff quarters gathering by the window to witness what was going on.

"Jax, let me go. People are watching. I just want to sleep for like 5 minutes at least." I almost screamed but I had to forced it out through gritted teeth.

"I don’t care who is watching. I told you that I want to explore what’s there and I meant it. Leo-"

"Don’t call me Leo! It’s Leonora to you. Just let me go and return back to your girlfriend. I’m tired of all the drama." I said and as I tried to walk away but Jax kept on blocking me. I chuckled in annoyance. At this point, it was turning into a movie and people were gathering around the staff quarters. "Jax, you have ruined my life! I can’t go anywhere in peace. I can’t do anything in peace. Everything is tied to you. I don’t have the opportunity of being my own person and I’m done. The only thing I’ll do for you is to go to the council. I’ll tell them you were the one that killed Luke and that I have accepted your rejection so that you can find another-"

"Fucking shut up! You keep trying to push me away. Do you really think I’m attracted to her? Do you want me to tell you how many nights I slept with blue balls cause all I was thinking about was you?" Jax shouted and my cheeks heated up. This was so embarrassing. "I’m not going to let you push me away so go back to my room because that’s where you’re going to be staying from now on. It is not a request. It is an order."
