The Lust Lord Librarian-Chapter 55: The Librarian’s Schemes
The first thing Adal did was remove his trench coat. Not just because of the scorching desert heat, but rather to give it to the queen.
He made his way over to the bronze-skinned sun elf. She was huddled together with the other women and children who had previously been enslaved by Musa.
"Here, put this on and cover yourself up. You are safe now."
Hesitantly, the woman took the trench coat and wrapped it around herself. The others watched with keen eyes.
Adal then made his way over to Musa’s corpse. He examined the man’s sabre and saw that it was an A-Grade Magical Artefact.
He tucked it into his pants and then started to search the man’s pockets.
"Human, what are you doing out here in the Red Sands? You must know that the elves and the humans are not on the greatest of terms." The queen finally spoke. 𝘧𝓇ℯℯ𝑤ℯ𝘣𝓃ℴ𝓋𝑒𝑙.𝑐𝘰𝑚
Adal ignored her for a few seconds, as he eventually found what he was looking for. A small ball of stone, wrapped in layers of fabric.
It was an S-Grade artefact named the ’Stone of Forever’. As long as it existed, it had a one-time usage that would permanently trap any being in stone.
Adal crushed the ball in his hands without hesitation. Nothing seemed to change, but he hoped that Cupid was breaking free from her prison.
"I came here to find him." Adal finally responded.
The queen and the others suddenly had wide eyes.
"You travelled all the way here to collect a bounty?" One of the other women spoke. She too had dark skin, and a noble air to her, though she was nowhere near as beautiful as the queen.
"Do not be so blunt." The queen snapped. "This man has saved our lives. We owe him deeply, so speak to him properly."
Adal smiled at that. He liked it when others were in debt to him. Especially women.
In Sun Elf culture, it was standard for women to always show respect to men, which was why the Queen had snapped like that.
"It is my pleasure to help a queen. Please, do not stress." Adal insisted humbly.
The Queen rose to her feet and shook her head adamantly.
"No, as a queen it is my duty to repay those who have helped our kingdom. Please, name your price and have it paid."
My price? I do have something in mind, but you might behead me if I dare suggest it.
Putting his Lustful Thoughts to the side, Adal made a suggestion that he hoped would help his future plans fall into place.
He explained exactly what he wanted to the Queen. He spoke in a low voice, making sure that he wasn’t heard by the others.
"If you wish to repay me, this is what I would like you to do. Go to King Calithor, and tell him that in two weeks, the Prince and the royal family will be attending a play together at the Velvet Curtain Theatre; a location near the city outskirts. They will be vulnerable, drunk, and far from the palace... It would be an honour to have his majesty attend."
For a moment, the Queen looked confused.
Was this man inviting the King of Glassborn Kingdom to a mere play?
Then, the implications hit her. Her eyes went wide.
She looked at the man in front of her. He looked unremarkable compared to the Sun Elf higher-ups, even after having slain Musa Desertsword. He was far too pretty to be so cunning, and wore no scars.
Yet here he was, plotting... something.
"I-I will pass on the word to my lord husband. Who might I say that this invitation is from?"
Adal smiled. It was a kind smile.
"Just a humble librarian from the Iglantis Kingdom."
"..."
"Okay... My name is Queen Talindra Redwind. Thank you again for saving us, Mister Librarian. Though it is a very long walk, we can make our way back home... The Duneworms will not attack a queen, and we will stop at a nearby town to receive guidance the rest of the way."
"I am glad to hear. I hope to see you again soon. Do travel safely."
With that, Adal said his goodbyes and stepped back through the Outer Realm Gate.
---
He emerged out onto the other side, landing in the room with the Outer Realm Gates.
As he knocked on the iron door seven times, he went over the thought process for his decision.
Over the next two weeks, I will work on a new play to be released just before the day that I am to get rid of the royal family.
King Calithor Redwind has always been in bad relationships with King Henry Wellington of the Torn Kingdom. The man will never pass up on the opportunity to get rid of him and the rest of his family, especially if they are all in one place, and away from the palace. My guess would be that they will use assassins, to keep their own names out of it in case they fail.
I can make sure that the entire royal family attend by personally requesting it to Prince George. I will also speak to Princess Iris, Opal’s sister, and have her help convince the Prince as well, as both of our goals align.
...
However, I do not want the royal family killed. Not all of them.
During this time, I will research the royal family extensively. Those who turn out to be good people will be spared, and I will warn them to flee from the empire before the assassins arrive.
As long as they are out of the city, King Elios Overlove will recognise that I have completed my mission.
...
But what if I discover that King Elios is an evil man in the meantime? I set up my trap, telling the Sun Elf Queen that I come from Iglantis, so she will suspect that this message has come from their allies in the Iglantis Kingdom.
Therefore, if I decide that I would side against the Iglantis Kingdom instead, I will warn the royal family beforehand, so that they might kill the assassins instead, and launch a war on the Iglantis Kingdom, and the Sun Elf Kingdom. If they play their cards right, they can ask for aid from the Snow Elf Kingdom, or even the Dwarven Kingdom.
...
It would be a war larger than any they had seen in recent times, and I would secretly be at the center of it.
Lost in his convoluted thoughts, Adal didn’t notice that Granny Cho had opened the door, and was now staring at him with wide eyes.
He was covered in blood.
"You are a mess boy, you can’t go out into the city like that! Come, have a bath and let me clean your clothes."
Adal looked down at his hands and saw they were caked in blood.
Afterwards, he followed the Granny.
