The Long Road to Love: The Capable CEO Dad-Chapter 536: Let’s Go Abroad Together
"We’ve booked the tickets to go abroad together. Shawn, I have no ties with the Nash Family anymore. Are you willing to remarry me?"
A glimmer of light flashed in Shawn Yates’ eyes as he gazed at Hugo Quinn with gratitude, thankful for the collaboration with this person that allowed him to win back Jean Nash’s heart so quickly.
"I am willing, Jean, let’s go."
Hugo Quinn transferred a billion dollars into Jean Nash’s account and informed the medical team that they were now part of the Quinton Family.
The influence of Hugo’s family was overwhelming, offering them the best medical conditions, along with high salaries, which the team immediately agreed to.
Jean Nash moved quickly, soon arriving at the airport with Shawn Yates. After exchanging a silent glance while holding hands, they passed through security.
This departure might mean they would never return.
Hugo Quinn sat in a car outside the airport, watching people come and go, and leaned back gently.
"Lan Yancy, take me to the Hollis Family."
It was time to bring Eleanor Hollis back home; she must have suffered a lot during this period.
Eleanor was at home, browsing online videos. This time, she wanted to knit a camel-colored sweater, which would fit Marcus perfectly.
"Ding dong, ding dong."
The doorbell rang. She turned off her computer and peeked through the peephole, seeing Hugo Quinn standing outside.
Her heart skipped a beat, and she hurried to the bathroom to wash her face, apply some lipstick, and then slowly opened the door.
"Eleanor, you can come home now."
Hugo embraced her fully, with a face full of satisfaction.
Eleanor was bewildered, thinking he must be joking. Wasn’t Jean Nash still around? Moreover, Marcus wasn’t fully recovered yet; how could they just go home?
Hugo knew she was confused, so he leaned in to kiss her cheek.
"Trust me, let’s go."
Several people entered and began packing Eleanor’s things, and she was whisked into the car in a daze by Hugo.
Only when they arrived at the villa did she slowly turn her head.
"Did you send Jean Nash away?"
Hugo nodded, playfully tapping her nose.
"Used a little persuasion. She couldn’t let go of her ex-husband, so it worked out. Come on, let’s go inside. We’ll visit Marcus tomorrow morning."
Eleanor’s eyes were filled with emotion, and as they stepped into the bedroom, they embraced passionately.
Everything that followed was natural; their foreheads were sweaty as they gazed at each other affectionately.
"Eleanor, sorry for your suffering."
Hugo kissed her lips, speaking with guilt.
Eleanor shook her head, feeling no grievance. She was sure Hugo had been under immense pressure recently, yet he had brought her back so soon. Undoubtedly, a lot had happened, but neither had the mind to ponder it now.
They didn’t stop until five in the morning, falling into each other’s arms.
Hugo tenderly stroked Eleanor’s head, his eyes full of warmth.
Though very tired, Eleanor snuggled closer in his arms.
"When will Marcus get better?"
She was very worried about Marcus, their child.
"The doctors are treating him. I’ve taken over the Nash Family’s medical team. Don’t worry; they will do their best."
Eleanor sighed with relief, wanting to ask more but too sleepy. Her eyelids grew heavy, and she soon fell asleep.
Hugo was finally at ease, having found it hard to rest without Eleanor by his side. Now, he could enjoy a good sleep.
They woke at noon, and after a quick meal, headed to the hospital to see Marcus.
Marcus was still in a coma, with numerous tubes attached. Several doctors were recording data next to the equipment.
"President Quinn, you’ve arrived."
Seeing him, the doctor removed his face mask.
Hugo nodded, looking worriedly at Marcus in the glass room, his heart aching.
"The child’s data is stable. The pathogens are being eradicated. He’ll wake up soon, so don’t worry."
With the doctor’s reassurance, they both felt completely relieved.
The Nash Family’s medical team was indeed exceptional, analyzing every possible outcome.
"Doctor, when will Marcus wake up?"
Eleanor clutched the doctor’s sleeve, longing to speak to Marcus, whom she hadn’t talked to in a long time.
"It should be soon."
Just as the doctor finished speaking, everyone looked toward the glass room. Marcus had opened his eyes.
"Marcus!"
Eleanor excitedly tapped on the window, trying to catch the child’s attention.
Marcus slowly turned his gaze. Upon seeing them, his eyes brightened, but soon dimmed again.
"The child’s strength isn’t great currently, so we’re only feeding him liquids. His waking periods won’t last long."
The doctor seriously reported from the side.
Standing by the glass window, Eleanor’s heart ached.
After all this time with Marcus, how did she not realize he was her child?
Hugo gently patted her shoulder, understanding her heartbreak.
"Get out of here, all of you!!"
A man’s harsh voice suddenly echoed, and Eleanor recognized it immediately. She turned to see Nolan Nash storming over furiously.
Nolan was almost losing it, having received the news earlier that the Nash Family’s medical team had been transferred to Hugo Quinn’s control. This was the Nash Family’s backbone; how could they let someone else take it?!
"Hugo Quinn! Where’s Jean Nash?! Have her come out immediately!"
It must have been Jean Nash’s doing, but the Nash Family couldn’t find her anywhere.
"Didn’t Jean Nash tell you? She’s remarried her ex-husband and gone abroad. That happened last night. I suppose she’ll call the Nash Family once she’s settled there."
Nolan’s face turned pale. They needed Jean to connect with the Quinton Family, and they were still hoping for shares in Apex. How could Jean choose to leave now?
"Impossible!"
Jean always cared deeply for the Nash Family; she wouldn’t abandon everything for an overseas departure.
Hugo, uninterested in dealing with him, smirked, holding Eleanor’s hand tighter.
"Eleanor, are you hungry? I’ll take you to eat nearby."
Eleanor nodded, not fond of Nolan’s impression, ready to leave quickly.
"You can’t leave!!"
Nolan blocked their path, eyes burning with resentment.
"This medical team belongs to the Nash Family. Hugo Quinn, you’re breaking the law. I’ll sue you!"
Being a privileged heir, Nolan had never dealt with businessmen like Hugo Quinn.
Hugo raised an eyebrow, tightening his grip on Eleanor’s hand.
"Ask the doctors if they’re willing to return with you. They’re people, not things."
Just as he finished speaking, the doctor respectfully spoke up.
"Young Master Nash, we choose to follow President Quinn."
