The Lich of Glory Knight Spirit: Moving towards Krimasha!-Chapter 655 - 18: Kapu (4)
This should be considered Erwin’s first real battle, right? No matter how many times he’s fought before, it’s all been just training. The first time, if he loses, the opponent will really kill him.
In the pitch-black night, three people ride horses through the forest. Behind them are large groups of pursuers holding torches.
"Don’t run!"
"Stand still!"
Similar shouts echo one after another.
"Why do the villains always like to shout such useless things? Should we just stop running and let them catch us?" Matthew, already panting from exhaustion, still doesn’t forget to complain.
It’s well known that horses aren’t suitable for running in forests. If the forest is also mountainous and it’s nighttime, it’s even less suitable.
Not far into the run, the horse George is riding directly stumbled. George fell heavily to the ground, and the horse, having its foot stuck by something, couldn’t stand up no matter what.
Erwin had no choice but to turn back.
Reaching out, Erwin on horseback tries to pull George up.
The two of them exchange glances, but George doesn’t extend his hand.
"You guys run, a horse can’t carry two people. I might as well hold them off so you can escape." Struggling to stand up, George draws the longsword from his waist and stands in front of Erwin.
In the distance, countless soldiers holding torches swarm towards them, looking like fireflies dancing in the mountains from afar.
Erwin hesitated for a moment, dismounted, and forcefully shoved his reins into George’s hands.
"I’ll stay behind, you guys go. Return to White City and report. Don’t worry, they won’t kill me. Killing me is meaningless; only a living captain of the Silver Moon Knight Fifth Squad is valuable."
With that said, he draws his longsword, facing the faint torchlights, and stands in front of George.
George was stunned, quietly gazing at Erwin’s profile.
"Good heavens..." Already far away, Matthew had to return on horseback: "If we’re caught, none of us will escape! You understand me? We won’t escape! Erwin, just let him stay! Anyway, he’s an heir to the title, they at least want to ransom him! Plus, his horse stumbled, meaning he’s destined to stay!"
Turning to face George, Erwin seriously says, "I’m the captain, you’re a member. Follow orders."
After much hesitation, George took a step back, solemnly saluted Erwin, and turned to mount Erwin’s horse.
"Wait! What are you doing? Are you really going to leave him?" Matthew panicked suddenly.
Ignoring Matthew, George turned his horse around and charged along the original path.
"Stop right there!" Matthew yelled, but didn’t dismount from his horse. He just looked back briefly at Erwin standing in front of him, turned his horse around, and chased after him.
The wind howled through the mountains, and the shadows of trees under the blue moonlight were like demonic claws. Erwin removed his helmet, standing alone. Letting the breeze sweep past his ears.
"George! You coward! You actually left Erwin all alone!"
"And you? Matthew, why didn’t you give your horse to Erwin!"
"It was your horse that stumbled, not mine! You should’ve stayed!"
"It was Erwin who ordered me to leave. As a knight, I’m just following orders!"
"You coward!"
"You’re the coward!"
The sound of Matthew and George cursing each other echoed from afar. Erwin sighed with a faint smile, looking up, quietly waiting for the opponent to appear before him.
...
"You’re a coward!"
"You’re the coward!"
"Coward!"
"Coward!"
...
Who would have thought?
His first mission as a knight, or perhaps the first adventure of his life, would end like this. It might even be his last adventure.
When Erwin acquired the magical armor, he felt his life was finally beginning. But now, everything is about to end before it even starts.
In the end, he still let his father’s careful advice go to waste.
As a knight, he was still too inexperienced.
Slowly tightening his grip on the sword in his hand, Erwin quietly stands in the midnight breeze.
Soon, a large group of soldiers holding torches appeared before him. Among them was the green-armored knight. He drew his sword, pointing at Erwin and shouting: "Drop your weapon!"
"That’s impossible; if you have the skills, defeat me!" Erwin raised his sword, loudly roaring: "Longitude Sword!"
With this shout, he used all his strength.
In the next moment, fifteen swordless swords and five shields flew out from the large box strapped to Erwin’s back, hovering in the air.
The soldiers present were all stunned.
...
In the castle corridor, the middle-aged knight grasped the sword hilt and walked quickly. After turning through several places, he finally arrived at a tightly closed door, panting heavily.
"Sir, we’ve caught him."
Silence, a silence as deadly as death.
After a moment of silence, the wooden door brushed open. The girl from before was already standing before him: "So fast?"
"Yes, they left someone to cover the rear."
"What do you mean? Cover the rear? You mean you caught one of the three?"
"Yes, but we caught the captain. The other two escaped. They actually left the captain to cover the rear."
"Where is he?"
"In the dungeon."
The girl quickly walked away, and the middle-aged knight hurriedly chased after her.
...
In the dim red cell, the torches inserted into the walls swayed slightly, along with the swaying of the entire cell’s light and shadows.
The bars were covered in grey rust, and the floor was rough and cold stone. Only one window allowed outside air to flow in.
