The Last King Of Darkness-Chapter 1341 - 664: Breaking through Ak
In almost an instant, Rod determined that this was the Horror Castle.
There was no other possibility.
This must be the True King’s legacy.
That terrifying aura gave Rod a particular sense of familiarity—he had felt it within the Saint Rel Kingdom, at the very moment the God of Contaminated Blood descended.
Bella, Qingyu, and Horus felt the same.
"It’s here!"
Bella said definitively.
"This is the Horror Castle."
Horus suddenly realized, "I finally understand why we haven’t encountered any Abyss Monsters along the way."
The aura of the True King lingers here; no monster would dare approach.
Monsters below King Level had long fled far away, driven by an instinctual fear within their souls, while King Level Monsters, by their nature, were unwilling to conflict with such a powerful presence and thus avoided it.
Monsters are far more sensitive to darkness than humans. In this vast area centered around the Horror Castle, there wouldn’t be a single monster.
Rod looked up at the massive black castle.
It resembled a gigantic mountain, slowly sinking into the swamp. 𝒇𝙧𝙚𝓮𝙬𝙚𝓫𝒏𝓸𝓿𝓮𝒍.𝓬𝙤𝓶
There were no details on the castle; the deep darkness seemed like the Void itself, with no doors, windows, or visible entrances.
"How should we go in?" Rod asked.
Horus pondered, "Special spaces like this typically have nodes of existence. If we find the node, we can enter."
"Is it this?"
Rod immediately spotted an odd stone, scattered around the swamp’s edge, everywhere.
Horus paused, "Seems like it. I can sense its difference, the Space folds here, and the Sealing is twisted within... but why so many? It’s as if... inviting us in."
"Could it be a trap of the Ancient Evil Thought?" Rod wondered in his mind.
Asa hesitated, "I can’t be certain, the scent of conspiracy constantly surrounds you."
Rod nodded, "I’ll go in first. You know, as long as it’s not the True King himself descending, I can pay a price to resurrect, and I’ve set my resurrection point here."
Horus hesitated; in the past, he might have opposed such a risky move, but now he only said, "Be careful."
"I know, Archbishop."
Rod picked up a stone, Spiritual Energy surged at his fingertips, lightly touching the stone.
In the next moment, the light and shadow before him shifted. When he regained his senses, he was in a dim corridor, the stench of decay in the air, and the vast Inspiration looming.
Even after countless years of demise, the True King’s power still resonated here.
He successfully entered the inside of the Horror Castle.
Rod opened his palm, the stone already turned to dust, but he didn’t worry because the Spiritual Communication wasn’t cut off.
He communicated outwards, "I’ve arrived inside the Horror Castle, please wait a moment while I confirm if there are any dangers around."
Then, he said to Asa, "That Evil Thought I had you completely absorb last time, have you absorbed it?"
Asa’s face crumpled, resembling a bitter melon. It was a long time ago during the first venture onto the Divine Tower in the Sword Edge Mountain Range, when an accompanying High Rank investigator was an Ancient Evil Thought under Ark’s command.
It possessed an ability to keenly detect nearby danger.
Rod believed this ability was quite useful and hoped Asa could fully inherit everything from that Evil Thought, including this ability. But Asa thought it would make it impure and was very resistant, although in the end, he couldn’t overrule and completed the inheritance.
"I absorbed it."
"Use it."
Asa strained his face as if constipated, and an invisible Spirit disseminated.
"I see destruction energy, surging Spiritual Bodies, the aura of the True King, and monsters born from distortion, danger, danger, danger, all dangers... inevitable, danger everywhere!"
"Find a danger we can avoid."
At that moment, Asa understood his master’s plan and respectfully said, "As you command."
He guided Rod through the darkness, quickly arriving at an enormous hall.
It was at least 30,000 yards wide, stretching beyond the eye could see, the lower part of the hall piled with corpses, a massive Crystal Altar pressed upon the bones, and the dead air resonated here.
"I can sense the Evil Spirits on the corpses; they are imprisoned inside, dormant. Unless there’s a particularly large disturbance, they won’t easily awaken."
Rod nodded, taking a few steps forward, and suddenly, his entire body burst with Spiritual Energy, the Spirit Realm Ship activated at an unimaginably rapid pace, white mist enveloped him, leading him in a flicker to the other end of the hall.
Boom!
Rod’s right hand instantly pressed upon a shadow, which was seeping toward the Altar from the wall.
"Got you!"
Rod unleashed all his Spiritual Energy, tangible Spiritual Energy clinging firmly to the wall like mist.
"Ark!"
The shadow was pinned by this powerful Spiritual Energy, unable to move, its sharp voice coming from the shadow, full of disbelief:
"How is it possible? How could you detect me?"
Rod revealed a grin more menacing than ever, "Did you think I would waste words with you?"
"Ha!" The shadow sneered, "Do you think a mere bit of Spiritual Energy can restrain me?"
The shadow started to boil, beginning to seep downward again, the strong power of Spirit causing Rod’s Spiritual Energy mist to tremble, no longer able to hold it.
