The Journey of Immortal Cultivation-Chapter 523 - 302: Ali is Not an Ordinary Human
Ali didn’t dare to follow and look. She wanted to escape, but as soon as she approached the dense forest, the branches around the campsite seemed to bend down consciously, blocking her way. She knew it was the Fog Demon not letting her go.
She could only nestle in this camp that was filled with people but as quiet as a graveyard, shivering uncontrollably. There was not a single sound from the dense forest, unlike when she lived in the village, where she could hear the frogs and cicadas chirping all night during the summer. She wondered, why hadn’t the chief and the others noticed such an obvious sign?
After a little while, the Fog Demon came out, or rather, floated out. Ali didn’t know if she was seeing things, but she felt that the creature’s form was a bit more solid than just now.
The Fog Demon then dragged another person into the hut.
Then a third person, a fourth person, a fifth... Each time it came out of the hut, its form became more solid.
Ali was numb with fear, dumbly sitting by the fire, feeling that the fire brought no warmth, her heart was icy cold.
The Fog Demon came out again, this time Ali could clearly see it was a woman clothed in Ni Chang, with a beautiful face and slight blood color on her lips, but her eyes still shone with a green light, unhuman-like.
This time, it was heading to drag away the thin, dark-skinned woman. Fighting the fear in her heart, Ali cried out: "You can’t touch her!"
The Fog Demon ignored her, chuckled with a ’heh heh’: "Don’t worry, it will be your turn soon." With that, it reached out to drag her.
Those dragged into the hut, definitely met no good end. Ali was frantic, suddenly stood up, and pushed the Fog Demon hard: "Don’t you touch her!"
The Fog Demon’s body was formed from dense fog; Ali’s fingers felt like they were pushing through air, usually touching nothing. But just then, her fingertips suddenly emitted a faint golden light.
This flash of golden light was brief, lasting no longer than the last vestige of the evening’s sunset, but it was enough. Suddenly, her fingers touched something soft, and without hesitation, Ali forcefully poked it, her fingers passed through what seemed like transparent gelatin, deeply embedding into the Fog Demon’s body!
The Fog Demon was startled, suddenly let out a sharp shriek, crying out as ghastly as a normal woman would, that misty feeling was gone. It floated several feet away, Ali suddenly felt no fear, realizing that if this demon’s cries sounded like a human, it must not be unbeatable!
The Fog Demon clutched its right arm, looking unbelievably at Ali. It was exactly where the little girl had pushed it earlier; now there were ten sharp holes showing, from which milky white fluid dripped drop by drop onto the ground. Plants on the ground that got splashed grew insanely like they had been fed a great tonic.
The Fog Demon roared from its throat: "What exactly are you?" and lunged at her. Its face twisted, no longer had any of its previous beauty.
Ali was still in a daze from injuring the Fog Demon, barely had time to lift her eyes when the demon’s claws reached out in front of her. The demon’s claws were like a woman’s delicate hands, skin as pure as jade, but the nails were brightly red, long and sharp, aiming directly for her eyeballs.
It wanted to gouge out her eyes.
Ali was terrified stiff, her limbs went soft, couldn’t even scream, only managing to close her eyes.
In her heart, there was only one wish: she didn’t want to die. In that instant, she silently repeated the phrase several times.
Perhaps God finally heard her and decided to fulfill her wish this time. The expected pain did not come.
She heard the Fog Demon’s sharp scream, louder than when she had injured it before.
"This demon sure loves to scream." She even had the leisure to think this, before she finally opened her eyes, only to see a familiar Qing figure.
The young man from the riverbank was standing between her and the Fog Demon, turning back to ask her: "Little girl, are you alright?"
A strong sense of joy surged in Ali’s chest, not only because of the narrow escape from death. She was too emotional to speak, choked up twice before firmly shouting: "Don’t turn around, watch out ahead!"
While the young man turned back, the Fog Demon waved its hand; the dense fog previously hovering in the dense forest instantly wrapped around, suddenly making it impossible to see even five steps ahead where they stood.
The young man stepped back, protectively keeping Ali behind him, asked her softly again: "Are you alright?"
