The Investiture: Unlimited Blade Works Nezha-Chapter 327 - 326: I Want to See Just How Many Treasures You Have!
Chapter 327: Chapter 326: I Want to See Just How Many Treasures You Have!
Randeng had his own considerations. Coming here wasn’t a big deal—Taiyi had been dead for countless years already, so who’s to say he wouldn’t get lucky and stumble upon the Chaos Bell while making this trip?
Moreover, he wouldn’t have come without keeping some backup plans in mind.
In the end, he didn’t encounter the Chaos Bell but instead came across Nezha, who had it in his possession.
Although the explosion back then was devastating, Nezha actually wasn’t severely injured. After being tossed into the Mountain and River Map by Lady Nuwa to escape the core of the blast, the energy of Nuwa’s avatar was entirely depleted.
Afterward, Nezha ran as far away as possible, but as fate would have it, while he was trying to escape outward, Randeng was charging inward. They ended up crossing paths directly.
At the start of their confrontation, Nezha wasn’t particularly intimidated by Randeng. After all, Randeng was currently only at the Golden Immortal Stage—why would Nezha be afraid of that?
But reality hit differently when the actual fight began. Randeng’s Golden Immortal cultivation only applied to the Primordial World, and his abilities after undergoing partial Chaos transformation couldn’t be measured by that standard alone.
Nezha went full throttle with his God Slaying Spear and stabbed Randeng three times, but it didn’t faze him in the least. While his body’s external appearance hadn’t changed much, upon closer inspection, Nezha noticed something disturbing.
Randeng’s insides were now filled with a viscous black substance, resembling the rotting residue of decayed matter, while his outer form was held together by a thin layer of fibrous fuzz maintaining his structure.
The God Slaying Spear itself began showing signs of being corroded by the Law of Decay after it made contact. Fortunately, the spear’s quality was high enough to withstand it; otherwise, an ordinary treasure would’ve been reduced to sludge instantly.
Once his outer appearance was pierced and partially exposed, perhaps due to the influence of the Chaos transformation or simply letting his true nature run wild, Randeng turned sinister and maniacal. With his condition laid bare, he stopped pretending entirely. His entire body dissolved like a dandelion, scattering endless white fibrous strands into the air.
The fine white fibers seemed to have lives of their own. Nezha wielded the fully upgraded Five Fire Seven Bird Fan and waved it furiously, summoning an overwhelming inferno. However, not only were these fibers unharmed, but the flames enraged them even further.
Countless dense white worm-like strands charged straight at Nezha. The horrifying sight nearly triggered Nezha’s latent trypophobia!
Nezha hurled a Five-Colored Stone like it was an Elf Ball, unleashing a Seven-Colored Divine Light that swept across the sky, gathering all the white strands into the stone. Yet within moments, the originally radiant stone dimmed, lost its luster, and turned into a pile of slimy goo.
Without hesitation, Nezha hurled another stone and immediately began retreating without looking back.
There was no way he could handle the present Randeng!
What if Randeng called for reinforcements?
Nezha had no illusions about his speed at summoning help being faster than Randeng’s.
Chaos is inherently disorderly, while the Mountain and River Map represents order. Without guidance, order cannot traverse chaos.
In other words, entering the map would leave him cornered at the spring—the ultimate trap. Worse, what if Randeng summoned his own reinforcements? Nezha had no connection to Lady Nuwa to lean on for help.
As for other contingency plans? Using them against Randeng felt like a waste.
Thus, the best option was to run!
Nezha transformed into his ten-meter-tall Golden Crow Dharma Form, unleashing a streak of seven-colored rainbow light as he bolted in one direction. Where exactly he’d end up? He couldn’t care less—he just had to escape.
Behind him, Randeng cackled sinisterly, his bizarre laughter echoing: "Jie jie jie."
From who knows where, Randeng summoned a pitch-black creature resembling a worm, with a grotesque chrysanthemum-like mouth at its front end. Bringing along floating white dander, the creature joined the pursuit of Nezha.
What of investigating the Chaos Mother Cave? First, he had a long-standing grudge to settle!
Nezha was fast, but Randeng’s new mount wasn’t slow either. Despite its seemingly revolting inch-by-inch wriggling, it clung to its pursuit of Nezha with unrelenting determination. No matter what Nezha did, he couldn’t shake it off.
Sometimes, when other chaotic entities obstructed Nezha’s path, the revolting beast even managed to close the distance.
Forced into a corner, Nezha resorted to using the Big Scattering Coin Skill, swinging his teacher’s Golden Gourd to unleash ten or so low-grade Spiritual Treasures that had been inversely corrupted into innate-level explosives.
Immense energy surged from within them before they detonated violently.
Even the weakest innate Spiritual Treasures are still innate-tier, let alone over a dozen of them. Though not on par with the Fake Chaos Bell from before, the difference wasn’t too vast.
BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!...
A chain of deafening explosions erupted behind him. Nezha didn’t even bother looking back—he just kept running!
A true man never looks back at explosions.
When the terrifying blasts subsided, what remained was a massive white cocoon, whose tightly packed "silk" threads unraveled to reveal Randeng inside, completely unharmed.
Randeng was truly dumbfounded by Nezha’s extravagant tactic. After countless Yuan Hui cultivating in the Primordial World, Randeng’s thoughts were still largely rooted in Primordial logic.
He had never seen anyone so wasteful, using innate Spiritual Treasures in such a manner!
Although Randeng, as a guest in Zixiao Palace for countless years, had amassed considerable wealth, he suddenly felt indescribably poor.
The black worm had been blown to pieces, but it didn’t matter—Randeng summoned another one from somewhere. It seemed the Chaos Demon Gods highly valued this traitorous Immortal.
No need for further words—chase continued!
Randeng was determined to see how many more treasures Nezha could toss at him!
And soon Randeng began to realize what true affluence looked like.
Throughout the pursuit, Nezha hurled nearly a hundred treasures. Each one was of such high caliber that even if Huang Long went bankrupt, he couldn’t hope to acquire so many.
As Randeng watched the Golden Crow’s third claw clutching the Golden Gourd up ahead, his emotions shifted from confidence to confusion, jealousy, self-doubt, and finally, mania.
"Mine. All of it, mine!"
Nezha continued his relentless flight. Randeng’s unyielding pursuit only reinforced Nezha’s suspicion: this old bastard was hiding something valuable.
Scenes blurred past in a flash. Suddenly, out of the corner of his eye, Nezha caught sight of a streak of golden light. It seemed familiar? Time for a change in direction!
But he hadn’t gotten far when an impossibly terrifying aura emanated from behind—an aura Nezha had recently sensed before, belonging to that of a Chaos Quasi-Demon God.
Turning around, Nezha saw Randeng restored to his Mystic Sect days of Immortal-like grace. The black worm was gone, replaced by a bubble-like entity adorned with backward-facing barbs.
"Nephew Li, hand over the treasures you carry. For the sake of our shared time under Lady Nuwa’s teachings at Zixiao Palace, I may yet spare your life," Randeng said.
Nezha stopped running this time. With that bubble present, escape was futile. Returning to his human form, he calmly asked, "Old Lamp, do you think you’ve got me cornered?"
He followed up with a disdainful gaze, sneering, "And you, a piece of trash, think you’re worthy of being compared to my teacher?"
These words, paired with the look, might not have affected the previous Randeng much. But for the current Randeng, they cut deep—very deep!
Back when Randeng was a Second Corpse Quasi-Saint of the Mystic Sect, being dismissed as trash unworthy of standing alongside a Saint would’ve elicited a calm chuckle and agreement.
But now, after he had thrown himself into the service of Chaos Demon Gods and ended up in this grotesque state, hearing such words was no laughing matter!
