The Ice King's Little Trouble Maker-Chapter 687 - 649 Meeting Cao Wei
The third day of Cao Wei’s imprisonment.
Her room had been thoroughly searched.
Whether anything was found, Qiao Yuxian and Huo Yanxin didn’t know.
Yan Ting said nothing.
But he sent some people out.
Qiao Yuxian instructed Liu Zhou to investigate, but he couldn’t find out where those people went.
Especially after dark, Yan Ting left.
Feeling something was not quite right, she seized the opportunity while Yan Ting was away to visit Cao Wei.
As she expected, she was stopped.
Yan Ting didn’t want her to meet.
But there was no place on Yao Mountain Island where she couldn’t go; no one could stop her.
A few words scared away the people guarding Cao Wei.
Yao Mountain Island had a designated place for imprisoning people.
The conditions inside weren’t bad, except there was no sunlight.
Qiao Yuxian found the room where Cao Wei was held and pushed the door open.
On the side against the wall was a bed.
Cao Wei was crouched at the edge of the bed, leaning against the corner, hugging her knees.
Upon hearing the door open, she looked up at Qiao Yuxian.
After seeing that it was her, she looked down again. Her disheveled hair almost completely obscured her face.
"I guessed you would come," she said.
Qiao Yuxian, wearing a down jacket, felt a bit warm, so much so that her face was flushed. She pulled down the zipper on her down jacket a bit, and then said, "Since you guessed, do you have something you want to say to me?"
"You come, and I should tell you?" Cao Wei said.
Qiao Yuxian looked around, thinking that, apart from being a bit dirty and having messy hair, Cao Wei didn’t seem to have any other injuries.
If Yan Ting had gotten something out of her mouth,
then how, from her current state, did they get her to speak?
"You seem to dislike me quite a bit," Qiao Yuxian said.
She hadn’t noticed it much before, but now her aversion was particularly obvious.
"Yes," Cao Wei said.
"Why?" Qiao Yuxian asked.
Cao Wei looked up at her, staring at her face, her eyes filled with growing jealousy and dislike. 𝗳𝐫𝚎𝗲𝚠𝚎𝗯𝕟𝐨𝘃𝚎𝗹.𝗰𝗼𝗺
Qiao Yuxian looked into her eyes, paused, and said, "Who do you like? It can’t be Gu Yanjing, can it? Have you met him? Do you have some story together? When you look at me like that."
"You like Gu Yanjing, so he’s the best in the world? Everyone must like him?" Cao Wei said.
"Not everyone needs to like him," Qiao Yuxian crossed her arms and leaned against the wall by the door, "but he is indeed the best in the world."
Cao Wei let out a cold humph.
Qiao Yuxian chuckled softly, intrigued, and asked, "Then who is it? If it’s not someone I like, then it must be someone who likes me. Oh, that could be a lot. After all, I’m beautiful, cute, have a nice personality, and most importantly, I’m kind, grateful, unlike some ungrateful wolves."
Cao Wei squinted her eyes.
Qiao Yuxian didn’t want to ask pointless questions anymore. It didn’t matter who she liked to hate her. She asked, "Tell me, who made you poison Grandpa Nine? Who is the person behind you?"
Cao Wei let out another laugh, not answering.
Qiao Yuxian said, "What do you mean by that laugh? Why does it sound so mocking?"
"Do you think everyone likes you?" Cao Wei said, "Do you think everyone is attracted to you?"
Qiao Yuxian raised her eyebrow slightly.
Cao Wei said, "Qiao Yuxian! You are truly pathetic! The people closest to you aren’t even on your side. You still think the people around you can be trusted? You are so pitiful!"
"Then tell me, among those closest to me, who isn’t on my side?" Qiao Yuxian asked.
Cao Wei looked at her face and suddenly started laughing.
The piercing laughter continuously assaulted her eardrums.
Qiao Yuxian frowned slightly at her laughter.
"Given how things are now, I suddenly think it would be interesting to let you see for yourself," Cao Wei continued to laugh.
The door beside Qiao Yuxian wasn’t tightly closed.
The laughter traveled directly outside.
Liu Zhou, who was waiting outside, not knowing what was happening, pushed the door open and came in.
Hearing the door, Qiao Yuxian straightened up and glanced at him.
Liu Zhou came in and also looked at Qiao Yuxian, seeing she was fine, then looked at the still laughing crazily Cao Wei. He frowned as well.
"The small village at the Yao Mountain Island and M Continent border. No. 26, Third Row," Cao Wei said, laughing, "If you leave now, you should still be able to see. Go see with your own eyes the person who grew up with you. If you’re late, those above will know he’s exposed and might deal with him."
The words "grew up together" briefly stung both Liu Zhou and Qiao Yuxian.
The expression on Qiao Yuxian’s face grew serious, and in the next second, she quickly walked to Cao Wei, grabbed her neck, lifted her off the bed, and swiftly slammed her onto the ground.
The speed was so fast that even Liu Zhou’s eyes were left with an afterimage.
And the force was immense, so much that the dull thud when Cao Wei hit the ground made one’s heart tremble.
Cao Wei’s laughter was completely choked off the moment Qiao Yuxian grabbed her neck. She suddenly couldn’t make a sound.
Then slammed onto the ground again, her back hitting the floor.
With the dull sound, she felt as if her internal organs had all shifted.
A buzzing filled her head.
She didn’t know what had happened to her, as if she had been taken apart and then reassembled. A dizzy spell left her unable to find reality, something wanting to surge up in her chest, but her throat was clenched, unable to expel it.
Qiao Yuxian squatted beside her, her hand still tightly on her neck.
Her voice was icy as she said, "It’s my business how I am. You still have the nerve to laugh here. You dare lay a hand on Mr. Jiu, you deserve to die."
Liu Zhou, standing aside, widened his eyes, completely stunned.
He was not surprised by Qiao Yuxian’s skill. They grew up together, and he knew her capabilities.
But after she was poisoned, even walking was difficult for her.
She had just walked over here, her steps were slow, looking exhausted.
Now...
Liu Zhou dared not make a sound.
Qiao Yuxian let go of Cao Wei’s neck.
Cao Wei lay on the ground, wanting to raise her hand to touch her neck, but the blow had been too heavy, and she felt she couldn’t find her limbs.
Her whole body felt wrong, yet she didn’t know how to calm this wrongness.
She could only gasp for air with her twitching body.
Qiao Yuxian patted her face and said, "Don’t worry, I won’t let you die now. If Mr. Jiu is fine, I might be kind enough to spare your life. But if anything happens to him, you will be buried alive."
After saying this, she stood up and looked at Liu Zhou.
Meeting her gaze, Liu Zhou quickly masked his surprise.
Qiao Yuxian’s voice returned to her usual tone, with a slight hint of weakness: "Take her away."
Liu Zhou immediately understood.
There was a traitor on Yao Mountain Island, and they couldn’t give them the chance to meet Cao Wei again.
Nor could they allow Cao Wei to communicate with anyone else.
He stepped forward to grab her, not caring if she could stand, and directly dragged her out.
Qiao Yuxian followed him out a step behind. The moment she stepped out of the room, she seemed to be drained of strength, her eyes showing fatigue.
Liu Zhou was blocked in front while dragging Cao Wei.
"Young Master Yan said no one could see Cao Wei, let alone take her away," said the person blocking them.
"Move aside," Qiao Yuxian walked up and said impatiently.
The three blocking them looked at Qiao Yuxian, their faces looking timid, but still did not move aside.
Qiao Yuxian saw they were not moving and walked to the front of Liu Zhou, raising her hand sharply towards them.
Instantly, the three of them stepped aside.
Qiao Yuxian had Liu Zhou go first.
Qiao Yuxian looked at the three of them behind her and said, "Not wanting to live? Dare to block anyone."
The three, frightened, lowered their heads.
Qiao Yuxian gave them another look before catching up with Liu Zhou.
