The Hunter's Lively Wife-Chapter 2074: Feeling Guilty
"Does Aluo want to see her younger siblings?" Su Yunjin laughed as she reached out to touch Little Aluo’s head.
Little Aluo nodded and cheerfully pinched the small pouch at her waist, "I’ve brought some treats for my little siblings."
Inside Aluo’s pouch were pumpkin cakes that Mrs. Chu made for her this morning, fried to a golden crisp on the outside, they were aromatic, sweet, and soft, Aluo’s favorite.
Su Yunjin glanced at the pouch at Aluo’s waist, it was bulging, filled to the brim.
Su Yunjin didn’t know what was in Aluo’s pouch, but Mrs. Chu did; she was the one who had fried the pumpkin cakes for her daughter.
Hearing Aluo’s words, Mrs. Chu chuckled, "The pumpkin cakes Mom made are for you to eat yourself! Your little siblings are still too young, they can’t eat them."
"Mom, why can’t my little siblings eat them?" Aluo was puzzled, those pumpkin cakes were so delicious, why couldn’t her siblings eat them?
Su Yunjin explained with a smile, "Because your little siblings are still young, they haven’t even grown teeth yet, they can’t bite into anything. They can only eat soft foods. When they get a bit older, they’ll be able to eat them."
Aluo half understood, and Mrs. Chu added, "When you were their age, you couldn’t eat pumpkin cakes either."
After listening to her mom and Su Yunjin, Aluo finally concluded, "Mom, Aunt Su, I understand now. My little siblings don’t have teeth, so they can’t bite and can’t eat, right?"
Su Yunjin and Mrs. Chu exchanged glances and nodded with a smile, "Yes, Little Aluo is absolutely right."
Last time Su Yunjin gave Mrs. Chu a string of pearl bracelets, which she adored and wore on her wrist that very day. Mrs. Chu hadn’t taken it off since.
"Third Sister-in-law, the pearl bracelet you had my husband bring back is really beautiful, thank you so much," Mrs. Chu said happily, it was her first time receiving such a lovely pearl bracelet. 𝗳𝚛𝗲𝕖𝕨𝕖𝗯𝚗𝚘𝕧𝕖𝗹.𝗰𝗼𝕞
Su Yunjin smiled, "Sis-in-law, I made that string of pearl bracelets myself. I’m glad you like it. I made several of them. I also gave one to my second sister."
"Auntie, Aluo likes it too, could you give Aluo one?" Little Aluo asked, her eyes full of innocence as she looked up while munching on her pumpkin cake.
Mrs. Chu knew the pearl bracelet wasn’t cheap, and though children didn’t understand its value, she did. It was already generous of her sister-in-law to give her one, how could she be greedy and ask for another for Aluo?
Before Su Yunjin could respond, Mrs. Chu quickly took off the bracelet from her wrist and handed it to Little Aluo, "You silly child, Auntie already gave one to your mom, you should ask her for it, not your Auntie."
"Sis-in-law, it’s fine. I have another smaller one which is just right for Aluo to wear. The one you have is too big for her. You should keep wearing it. I’ll have someone bring the smaller one for Aluo now," Su Yunjin said, and called Aunt Bao to fetch the small bracelet.
Mrs. Chu felt a bit embarrassed, "Third Sister-in-law, how can this be? Aluo is being troublesome, don’t spoil her!"
"Sis-in-law, it’s no trouble at all. Come on, don’t feel bad about it, we’re all family, and Aluo is my niece. I happen to have a small one, Aunt Bao has already gone to fetch it. We’ll give it to Aluo."
