Chapter 672 Fu Hee comforts Jia Li ”You are back?” Fu Hee asked with a surprise smile.

Jia Li managed a smile as she approaches them. “Yes, Mum. I wasn’t feeling too well so I had to leave work early.”

”You are not feeling well? Then I have to call the doctor over.” Fu Hee said with urgency in her tone and turned to leave, but Jia Li stopped her.

”Mum, I’m not sick physically and it will be waste of time calling the doctor over when I can recover after plenty of rest.”

Fu Hee took a good look at her and began to reprimand her about her health in a gentle tone. She told her that although she feels that she needed plenty of rest to recover, the doctor still has to examine her to make sure it’s only stress that is troubling her.

While the two of them were conversing, Jasmine’s eyes went to her bag and lunch box in her mother’s hands and ran over to drag them from her.

”Mummy give me my bag!” The little girl said as she dragged the two bags from her.

”Wait, I will give them to you!” Jia Li said in an urgent tone, as a frown covered her face. She just wished her little girl could be obedient and wait for her to bring out her bags that were entangled with her handbag and the pharmacy nylon.

The little girl didn’t seem to hear what her mother said and continued to pull on her bags and demanded they be released at that moment.

Fu Hee walked over to persuade the little girl, but it was too late. Jasmine had pulled her things forcefully and everything in her mother’s hands came crashing on the floor, and some contents were spilled.

”Jasmine!” Jia Li called out angrily to the little girl who was now remorseful for her actions.

”Mummy, I’m sorry…” The little girl said with her eyes glued to the floor.

Jia Li sighed and asked her to stand aside, and then went down on her knees to pick up the little girl’s backpack and lunch box and handed them over to her, and then turned back to pick up the contents from her bag, which Fu Hee was already helping her out with.

While picking the items on the floor, Fu Hee came across a pack of pregnancy test kits. How did she know it was a pregnancy test kit? Obviously, she saw the diagram of the test kit on the pack, plus the good words written on it.

Picking it up, she took a good glance at it and had already opened her mouth in surprise, and was about to ask Jia Li If she was pregnant, but the kit got snatched from her hand with lightning speed.

Jia Li almost fainted when she saw the test kit in her mother-in-law’s hands, but she quickly took it from her and put it inside her bag and wanted to leave, but Fu Hee pulled her arm and asked in a worried tone…

”Jia Li, are you pregnant?”

Jia Li was already breathing heavily by now because of that question. She didn’t like that question and that is the reason she didn’t want anyone to see the test kit she bought.

”Won’t you say something to me now?” Fu Hee said with a straight gaze at Jia Li. She really looked confused as she failed to understand her daughter-in-law’s actions.

Slowly, Jia Li glanced up and fixed her gaze on her, and replied, “Mum, I don’t know if I’m pregnant.”

”Then why are you acting this way? See, your hands are shaking Are you nervous?.” Fu Hee pointed out with a frown.

As she said that, Jia Li immediately retracted her arm from her clutch. Right now tears were brimming in her eyes.

Fu Hee was flustered and looked around to make sure nobody was there, before pulling her arm and asking in a low tone, “What is wrong? Can you take me as your mother at this point and tell me everything that is bothering you?”

Jasmine had already left when the two women were conversing, and luckily, her Nanny who was walking in the hallway saw her and took her away.

It turned out that the reason Jasmine was in a hurry to take her bag from her mother, was because she remained her delicious lunch in school.

After taking off her school uniform and changing into casual comfy clothing, she demanded it.

Although it was hard for Jia Li, she forced her tears back and opened up.

”Mum, I am not sure that I’m pregnant, and I wanted to check this silently because I don’t want anyone to be disappointed in case it turned out negative again.”

”Negative again? Has this happened before?” Fu Hee probed with a frown.

Jia Li was silent before nodding her head and explaining what happened before. She felt signs of pregnancy and was elated. She got a test kit and checked. One line was pure red, while the other one appeared faint.

With that result, there was a possibility of her being pregnant, but she was happy, and when she finally wanted to tell Fu Hua about it so they could go to the hospital to check, she saw her period.

Her world came crashing down. She was disappointed but she hid it from everyone. Everyone’s expectation of her having another child was what affected her the most.

After learning the reason she was this nervous and hiding it from Fu Hua as she didn’t want him to experience the disappointment she faced, Fu Hee was almost teary and hugged her.

”I’m so sorry. I didn’t realize the pressure of having another child was so much on you. We may have had expectations without caring about any negative consequences, we are sorry!” Fu Hee apologized.

Jia Li hugged her back and told her not to worry. “Mum, it’s fine, I’m not complaining. Everyone meant well to me, but please don’t tell Hua about this, he will be disappointed that I hid this from him. I didn’t want him to worry, but I ended up making him worry.”
