The Hero of Hypnosis-Chapter 54: Knightmare Base

"Tell me, where are you keeping Tyria’s guard?" Kai ordered the man to speak. Unlike his typical hypnosis, the one he placed on the Knightmare made him lose his self-awareness. He was simply a mindless drone that had no choice but to follow Kai’s orders.

"One of our bases is nearby." The Knightmare spoke robotically.

Kai caught on to his words. "One of? How many bases do you have?"

"Five. Our main base is located in the Capital, but we have temporary bases that we use when we’re on a mission. After our mission is over, we destroy the base and all evidence of our actions."

"Hmmm." Kai thought about his next move. He wanted to take on some more requests, and he also planned on pulling out that hero sword if he was able to. But he knew how much Tyria wanted to meet her guard, so he decided to get their opinion.

"So, do you guys want to take on some more requests first, or save Annabeth? Doesn’t matter to me."

Tyria gave Kai a confused expression. She didn’t understand why he would ask such a question. "Are you kidding? Of course, we’re going to save Annabeth first! It’s my fault that she was captured! The least I can do is help her escape."

"I’m with Tyria on this." Gwen agreed.

"Cool. Operation Saving Annabeth is now underway. But first, let’s head back to the village to turn in this request. After that, we’ll head off."

After turning in their request and getting paid, Kai purchased a large carriage that could easily hold ten people with a good amount of space left over, or around fifteen people to completely fill it up.

He did this because it would be easier to travel that way instead of walking or trying to find a carriage that would take them to their destination. Also, there might not be a ride to a certain place they would need to go if it’s dangerous or off limits, so this would make up for that.

’I’ll use my points to modify the carriage and add a self-driving feature sometime in the future. It will probably cost a shit ton of SP so I need to grind some more. I’m so broke right now! Dammit!’

Currently, the Knightmare was driving the carriage, taking them to the base where they were keeping Annabeth, which was between Brightfield and Highgrove.

"How many knightmares can we expect to encounter at the base?" Kai asked

"Excluding the ones you killed, about twenty." He answered

"Who is the strongest there?"

"Captain Carl. He is a Tier-8 Warrior. He is not only the leader of our squad, but the second in command to all the Knightmares."

"Interesting. So, why did you capture Annabeth?"

"Annabeth is a threat to Lord Thorax. We captured her to not only get information out of her, but also to lure Lady Tyria into a trap by using their close connection toward one another. That way, we would be killing two birds with one stone."

Kai turned to Tyria. "You’re REALLY lucky you met me when you did."

"And I will forever be grateful for your help." She smiled

"Do we need to watch out for anything? Traps? Secret passwords? Certain phrases?" Gwen asked

"Yes. There is a password to enter the base. If answered incorrectly, everyone will attack."

Kai kissed Gwen. "Good catch."

She smiled. "Thank you."

"You will act as if nothing happened, and we will be your prisoners. You’ll take us into your base without alerting anyone and aid in breaking out Annabeth." Kai hypnotized him.

"Understood."

After that, they continued their journey to the base. After traveling for three days, they finally arrived at the place.

"We’re here."

If it wasn’t pointed out by the Knightmare, none of them would have even guessed that a secret base was in the area.

Hidden behind tall trees, many vines, and tons of rocks was an entrance that led into a small cave that was large enough to hold the carriage. This cave was short in length and didn’t extend very far.

Any normal person would simply think nothing was there; however, that’s where magic came into play.

The knightmare walked over to the stone wall, mana swirling around his fingers, and he pressed them against the stone. A magic circle appeared, and he twisted his hand as if he were operating a combination lock.

The stone wall hissed, then split apart, the two sides opening like a sliding door.

They continued, going deeper into the new cave, when they were then stopped by a large wooden door.

"Danger lurks, and the mind gets scared," A man said from behind the door.

"Darkness settles to enter the nightmare." The knightmare with Kai responded.

The large wooden door opened, allowing them all to pass through.

"Number 13, you’re the only one to return? What happened to the rest of your squad?" The man asked

"Dead."

"W-What?! How?!"

Number 13 explained everything. However, instead of saying Kai was the ’hidden master’, he explained how the hidden master had thought he killed everyone, but after leaving, Number 13, who was faking his death, managed to capture the princess as well as the two people the ’hidden master’ was protecting and escaped without being noticed.

"Hahaha! Amazing! You were always the best at stealth compared to the rest of us! Come, the captain will reward you for your victory!"

"Shouldn’t we take the prisoners to the cells first? Number 4?" 13 asked

"Oh, good call, I almost forgot about that." Number 4 looked in the carriage to see Kai, Gwen, and Tyria tied up with bruises on their body. They had gags on their mouths so they couldn’t speak, and they were ’unconscious’. freёnovelkiss.com

"I’ll inform the captain," 13 spoke. "You take them to the dungeon."

"You got it. Drinks are on you tonight. I want wine! Hahaha!"
