The Hero of Hypnosis-Chapter 384: Just follow my lead
Morrigan quickly dropped to the ground, not showing any signs of defiance at all. Apophia was a bit slow on the uptake, her fear causing her to move slowly, but eventually, she too dropped to the floor to show respect.
"I heard that you were trying to get rid of my son." Leo took a seat and summoned some popcorn to eat. He wasn’t crushing them with his power or anything. His presence alone was enough to force them into submission.
"Lord Progenitor, I was not on board with the plan to kill your son!" Morrigan quickly separated herself from Apophia. She was not going to be on the same sinking ship as her.
She had already met with Leo when Kai came to her. Leo knew that she wanted to help Kai, but she still wanted to make sure that Leo knew she had no plans to go back on her words.
"I did hear that, so I won’t punish you for that. Apophia, however..."
The demon queen started floating in the air, her airflow cut off as a force gripped her neck tightly.
"Do you know how stupid it is of you to know who I am and want to kill my son? Do you have a death wish?"
"Argh!!! I-I’m sorry! I’m sorry!" Apophia begged, her eyes watering as she would feel her life slipping away.
"Heh, look at you. One moment you say that you plan on killing Kai, and now you’re apologizing. The duality of a person when they come across a higher being. It’s very funny."
Apohia continued to squirm, kicking around to break free, but it was all useless against someone of Leo’s caliber.
"But it’s fine." He tossed her onto the floor, watching as she gasped for air.
"I truly don’t care what you do with this continent. Do whatever you please. Even if you try to kill Kai, you will fail miserably. He’s a lot stronger than you anyway. I just wanted to act like a loving parent and scare you. Ha! If Kai could see me now, he could call me a werido."
"B-But your son is in the way of my conquest."
"Nah, he’s not. Okay, yes, he is. But he’s here for fun, a stop on his grand tour of the world. You can try to beat him if you want, but it wont go well. Anyway. I’ll be going now. Good luck." Leo vanished.
"Crazy bitch!" Morrigan couldn’t hold back. Even though she knew Leo wouldn’t kill her, the sight of him was still frightening.
"T-That one’s on me. I take full responsibility. Tell me, what is the resistance up to now?"
Morrigan peeked into the future. "They will be taking over the eastern continent within a few days. Sunspot is already under their control."
Apophia nodded. "We’re putting the entirety of the Western Continent on lockdown. I want those resistance bastards dead before they set foot on our side of this land."
Morrigan nodded. "Understood." She vanished.
---
"Something is off," Kai said as he set foot inside the city of Novahelm.
"What do you mean? Do you sense something?" Gwen became on high alert, thinking that there was danger lurking in the shadows.
"No, but this place is quiet, too quiet." Kai hid behind a house, then rolled behind another house, peeking on the sides to see if anyone would spot him.
"Kai. Are you being serious? These people have a curfew. Of course, it’s going to be quiet here." Kyana thought Kai was actually sensing danger and already had her bow out.
"Oh yeah. I forgot about that. I’m so used to a bustling city, haha."
"EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEKKKKKKKKKK!" An ear-piercing screech cried out for the whole city to hear. It sounded as if a person was being killed and was fearing for their life.
"Did you guys hear that?" Amaya had to put her ears down from how high-pitched the scream was.
"Hear what? Of course, we heard that fucking death cry, Amaya!" Karumi jumped onto the house they were in front of and looked around to see where the scream came from.
"Look! Over there!" She spotted a woman covered in blood running for her life while soldiers were chasing her down.
"Let’s go!"
The seven of them wasted no time helping the poor woman escape from the evil soldiers. When they arrived, they blocked the soldiers from getting any closer.
"Stop in the name of the law!" Kai demanded
"The fuck? You’re not a guard!" A soldier looked confused.
"While we might not be city guards, we are the protectors of justice! And justice always prevails!"
The girls looked extremely embarrassed, but just went along with it.
"P-Please help me! They’re trying to take advantage of me!" The woman clung to Kai’s arm, crying and sniffing out of fear.
"Don’t worry, madam, nothing will happen to you...anymore."
’What a fucking bitch!’ Kai only wanted to look into her mind to see what she went through, but instead of finding trauma, he saw that this was simply a ploy to gather people for experiments. 𝗳𝚛𝚎𝚎𝘄𝕖𝕓𝕟𝕠𝚟𝚎𝕝.𝗰𝕠𝐦
’Hahahaha! Girls! Girls! You won’t believe what I just found out!’
’Why are you speaking in our heads?’ Sasha asked
’What did you discover?’
’Check it. This woman is actually acting. This whole thing is a ploy to get people to leave their homes to help ’her’, and when they do, she stabs them in the back, and the so-called heroes get taken to the lab where experiments are conducted on them.’
’What a fucking bitch!’ Gwen cursed.
’That’s what I said! Anyway, let’s play along. I think it will be fun.’
"Let’s take them down, girls! Hyaaah," Kai started to run forward, but he felt a knife stab him in the back. Well, kind of. He made an illusion to make the woman and guards believe that they would be able to harm them.
"W-What?" He turned around to see the woman with a knife in her hands.
"Hahahahaha! What a stupid man. Everyone has been falling for this little trick lately." The woman laughed.
The soldiers ’beat’ up Kai’s girls and subdued them by tying their arms with ropes.
"Haha! Take them to the lab. I’m sure those weirdos will be happy with seven new willing participants."
’Oh yeah! The plan is going just as planned.’ Kai couldn’t wait to kill all of them later.
