The Hero is Hunting me!-Chapter 62: Crimson Sparks in a Quiet Place
The child of the shouting man tried to calm his father down.
His wife did the same, holding onto his arm with a worried expression.
They were clearly embarrassed—this wasn’t the first time something like this had happened whenever they came here.
The waiter approached, trying to stabilize the situation.
"S-sir... please calm down. Many customers are feeling uncomfortable because of this..."
"I DON’T CARE!! ALL I WANT IS MY MONEY BACK!!"
The man shouted loudly.
His face was completely red with anger.
Suddenly, he grabbed a bowl of coffee from his table and threw it straight onto the waiter’s uniform.
The waiter gasped in shock.
Fortunately, the coffee was no longer hot.
The man’s wife stood up from her chair and rushed toward him.
"Honey! Please calm down! This isn’t like you at all!"
The people around them started paying attention to the chaos.
Their expressions showed clear discomfort at the noisy atmosphere.
"Waiter, is that man usually like this?"
Elvera asked the waiter who had taken their order earlier.
The waiter looked uneasy and wiped the sweat on his forehead.
"U-uhm... when they first came here, they were actually very kind customers. That man often gave tips to the staff too... I don’t know what’s happening to him lately..."
Elvera shifted her gaze back to the man who was still yelling.
And then she noticed something.
From the man’s body, small sparks of black and red lightning began to appear.
They flickered faintly around his arms and shoulders.
Just as Elvera suspected—something was definitely wrong.
The man raised his fist and tried to punch the waiter.
His wife attempted to stop him, but the man’s strength was far beyond hers.
The waiter instinctively took a defensive stance.
His face was filled with fear.
Just as the punch was about to land—
A flash of blue lightning burst through the air.
In an instant, Min-seo grabbed the man’s arm, stopping him mid-attack.
"Hey, don’t you think you’re being way too extreme just because your food wasn’t good?"
Min-seo said firmly, her face serious.
"Huh!? Who the hell are you!? Get away from me, you bitch!!"
The man shouted.
He tried to pull his arm free.
But Min-seo’s grip was far too strong.
Feeling humiliated and enraged, the man raised his left hand.
Black and red lightning began to gather around it.
He attempted to punch Min-seo with his other arm.
However—
Before his attack could land...
Min-seo drove her knee straight into his jaw.
The impact was brutal.
The man collapsed instantly, losing consciousness on the spot.
His body fell heavily to the floor.
His wife rushed toward him and knelt down.
"Honey!!"
So-ah watched the scene closely.
Her expression turned serious.
She noticed that the black and red lightning around the man’s body slowly disappeared.
She immediately turned to Elvera.
"Noona Elvera! Did you see that lightning!?"
Elvera nodded calmly.
"Yes... I saw it too. Someone is definitely behind this."
Elvera’s eyes scanned the entire restaurant.
She was searching for anything suspicious.
Deep down, she was certain—this was the work of a villain.
Her gaze stopped on a man who had just finished his meal and was standing up.
He was wearing a brown coat and a cowboy hat.
"That man... he looks suspicious..."
Elvera muttered.
She observed him carefully.
Among all the people in the restaurant, he was the only one who didn’t react to the chaos at all.
He didn’t even glance at the shouting man.
Elvera kept watching him as he walked toward the exit.
When the man reached the door, he suddenly turned his head.
His face couldn’t be seen clearly, as if something was blocking it.
But she could feel it.
He was smiling.
A cold, twisted smile.
Elvera’s eyes widened in shock.
The next moment—
The man vanished like a shadow.
"He’s the culprit..."
Elvera whispered.
She then looked back at the man Min-seo had knocked out.
The man slowly regained consciousness.
"U-ugh... what happened?"
He said while holding his head.
His wife answered him softly.
"You passed out..."
The man’s expression looked completely normal now.
The anger in his eyes was gone.
A few moments later...
The man apologized repeatedly to the waiter and Min-seo.
Elvera realized something important.
That man was originally a patient and kind person.
There was no way someone like him would explode in anger just because of bad food.
Several minutes passed.
After finishing their meal, the three of them left the restaurant.
Min-seo rubbed her stomach happily.
"Phew! That was delicious! How could that crazy guy say the food was bad!?"
So-ah walked beside her, carrying their shopping bags.
"Didn’t you notice earlier? There were black and red sparks around him."
Elvera, walking in front of them, spoke calmly.
"That man was being controlled. There’s a villain who can manipulate emotions."
Min-seo placed her hand on her chin and thought for a moment.
"Hm... yeah... now that I think about it, it was really strange. Why would he get that angry just because the food was bad? He could’ve complained normally."
Elvera fell silent for a few seconds.
Min-seo was right.
No one would lose control that badly over something so trivial.
Today was strange.
A new villain had appeared.
And that kind of ability was dangerous.
Very dangerous.
*At Yoo Jinhoo’s House*
Kim Gae-in was teaching Zofia how to sweep the floor.
"It seems you have great power, but you can’t even do a simple task like this,"
Kim Gae-in said sarcastically.
Zofia clenched her teeth.
She was clearly irritated, but she didn’t dare fight back.
Her strength hadn’t fully recovered yet.
"Just wait... once my power returns... I’ll make you kneel before me..."
Zofia muttered.
"Oh yeah? Then before that happens, I’ll keep torturing you,"
Kim Gae-in replied with a cruel smile.
Zofia was furious.
But still, she continued sweeping the floor with the broom.
I watched them while sitting on the sofa.
I let out a small laugh.
Honestly... it was quite amusing.
Thinking about it...
Zofia had finally joined my group.
The total number of members was now six.
And Zofia was the latest one.
It had been four days since she joined.
I was surprised by how quickly she adapted.
I glanced at my right hand.
With my current power, I could easily defeat Zofia—even if her strength fully returned.
But still...
I couldn’t afford to be careless.
There were far stronger threats out there.
And not to mention...
The other "me" inside my body.
Luckily, he hadn’t tried to take control of me yet.
I clenched my fist.
I needed to become stronger.
Much stronger than I was now.
Before something far worse appeared...
And plunged the world into real chaos.
