The Hero is Hunting me!-Chapter 107: A Quiet Night
After finishing his business with Angelica, Jinhoo immediately teleported back to his house.
The moment he appeared inside the living room, he noticed that everyone else was already waiting for him.
As soon as they saw him, several of them rushed toward him at once.
"Oppa!! Where have you been!? We’ve been waiting for you!"
Min-seo asked loudly while crossing her arms.
"We’ve all already tasted the cake. Now you’re the only one left."
Seeing their reactions, Jinhoo calmly removed the black mask from his face. His brown hair fell naturally as he revealed a gentle smile.
"Alright, alright. Then let me change my clothes first."
"No need! Come here!"
Mira suddenly grabbed his arm and pulled him toward the sofa.
Before he could protest, Jinhoo was already sitting on the couch.
In front of him, Donghyun was carefully cutting the birthday cake that sat on the table.
The cake looked simple but delicious, with cream decorations and a few candles that had already been blown out earlier.
With slow and careful movements, Donghyun placed a slice of the cake onto a small plate.
He then handed the plate to Jinhoo.
With a warm smile, Donghyun spoke.
"Thank you, Hyung. In my entire life, I’ve never experienced a birthday celebration this lively."
Jinhoo’s expression softened.
He extended both hands and accepted the plate.
"It’s nothing," Jinhoo said gently.
"Besides, you’ve already become part of my family."
"As a good older brother to his younger sibling, it’s only natural for me to make your birthday as special as possible."
Hearing those words, Donghyun suddenly froze.
His eyes began to water.
Then, tears slowly rolled down his cheeks.
"Eh?"
Jinhoo blinked in surprise.
"Why are you suddenly crying like that?"
Donghyun quickly turned away, embarrassed.
He hurriedly wiped his tears.
"I-It’s just because of onions! It’s the onions!"
"Donghyun~ this isn’t the kitchen," Elvera said as she sat down beside Jinhoo.
"There are no onions here."
Hearing that, Donghyun’s face turned red with embarrassment.
Everyone burst into laughter.
It was a warm and genuine kind of laughter.
A happy moment shared among people who truly cared about one another.
Suddenly—
So-ah jumped onto the sofa and sat down beside Jinhoo.
"Oppa! Let me feed you!"
But before she could act, Elvera immediately responded.
"Oh? It seems someone is trying to cut ahead of me."
She crossed her legs calmly.
"So-ah, I was the one sitting next to Jinhoo first."
"And besides, I’m the oldest person here."
"So naturally, I should be the one to feed Jinhoo first."
"That’s unfair! There’s no rule like that!"
So-ah protested loudly.
The two of them immediately began arguing with each other.
Meanwhile—
Jinhoo simply smiled widely.
He looked down at the plate in his hands.
Without warning, he picked up the cake with one hand.
Then he ate the entire slice in a single bite.
So-ah and Elvera froze.
Their eyes widened in disbelief.
"Ah! Oppa! That’s cheating!!"
"Hmm?"
Jinhoo tilted his head innocently.
"How is that cheating?"
"That slice of cake was meant for me anyway~"
He replied playfully.
Elvera sighed.
"You really are annoying sometimes..."
She muttered while Jinhoo continued chewing the cake happily.
"Hmm?"
Behind the sofa, Donghyun and Min-seo were talking.
Min-seo suddenly handed Donghyun something.
It was an entire raw chicken.
Uncooked.
Donghyun stared at it blankly.
"...You call this a gift?"
"Yap!"
Min-seo answered proudly.
Donghyun looked confused.
"Where did that ridiculous idea come from?"
"Of course!"
Min-seo placed her hands on her hips.
"From my own brilliant mind!"
At that moment, So-ah turned around from the sofa.
She looked toward Donghyun.
"Donghyun, you should just accept it."
"Even if it’s strange, she still tried to give you a gift."
Donghyun paused.
He let out a small sigh.
Then he smiled.
"Alright."
"I’ll accept the gift."
He held the raw chicken proudly.
"I’ll make the most delicious roasted chicken for everyone to eat!"
Min-seo immediately looked happy.
"Yay!"
Meanwhile—
On the other side of the room.
Gae-in was currently being punished by Mira.
Her hands were forced upward while she knelt on the floor.
"How could Unnie be so careless?"
Mira asked with a serious expression.
Gae-in looked nervous.
"I-I already told you..."
"It’s because of those strange masked people..."
"If they hadn’t caused that disturbance, I wouldn’t have fallen."
Mira crossed her arms.
Her face remained strict.
"Even so."
"Unnie is supposed to be a powerful villain."
"So how could you fall just because of a little vibration?"
Gae-in lowered her head.
"K-Kugh... I’m sorry..."
At that moment, Donghyun walked closer and spoke.
"Mira, maybe you shouldn’t be too harsh."
Mira slowly turned her head.
Her sharp gaze landed directly on Donghyun.
Donghyun froze.
A few seconds later—
He was kneeling beside Gae-in.
Both of his hands raised above his head.
"...Why am I being punished too?"
Donghyun muttered quietly.
Jinhoo watched the entire scene.
He couldn’t help but laugh.
But the moment he laughed—
"Hic!"
He suddenly got the hiccups.
"Ugh..."
He held his throat.
"Why does it have to happen at a time like this..."
Elvera calmly picked up a glass of water from the table.
She handed it to him.
"You just finished eating cake and then started laughing like that."
"Of course you’re going to get hiccups."
She said with a sweet smile.
Just then—
A loud voice suddenly echoed through the house.
"What is this mess!?"
Everyone turned toward the source of the voice.
It was Zofia.
She stood there holding a broom in her right hand.
Her face looked extremely annoyed.
She had become the housemaid of the residence.
"Do you have any idea how long it takes to clean a house this big!?"
"And yet you’re all carelessly making a mess again!"
Everyone looked awkward.
A moment later—
Elvera, So-ah, Min-seo, and Mira were also kneeling on the floor beside Donghyun and Gae-in.
"Why are we being punished too..."
They muttered together.
In front of them, Zofia stood with crossed arms.
Clearly displeased.
So-ah suddenly raised her hand slightly.
"Uhm..."
She hesitated.
"Why isn’t Oppa being punished too?"
Everyone turned their heads.
They all looked toward Jinhoo.
He was still sitting comfortably on the sofa.
Drinking a glass of water calmly.
Their gazes slowly returned to Zofia.
Zofia looked slightly uncomfortable.
"U-uhm..."
She cleared her throat.
"He is the owner of this house."
"So naturally, he can make a mess here without being punished..."
"Eh!! That’s unfair!!"
They all shouted at the same time.
Jinhoo looked toward them.
He smiled mischievously.
"Hehe... do your best."
Then he stretched his body and laid down on the sofa comfortably.
"Hah..."
He sighed peacefully.
"This is the life I’ve always wanted..."
The others continued arguing in the background.
But Jinhoo ignored it.
His relaxed expression slowly turned serious.
’The Overseer...’
he thought quietly.
’As far as I remember from the webtoon...’
’There was never any group called that before.’
His eyes narrowed slightly.
’So who exactly are they...?’
He stared at the ceiling silently.
Then he spoke softly.
"Well..."
"Whoever they are..."
His voice turned colder.
"If they dare to harm the people I care about..."
"...then their story ends there."
*Russia — Moscow*
Inside a hidden base belonging to Boris.
Boris sat calmly in his chair.
His posture was relaxed.
In front of him stood Alea.
She was delivering a report.
"Recently, our organization has been clashing frequently with a group called The Overseer."
"How would you like to respond to this situation, Your Excellency?"
Boris rested his chin on his hand.
"The Overseer, huh..."
He spoke slowly.
"Honestly, this is the first time I’ve ever heard that name."
He looked at Alea.
"Do you know who they really are?"
Alea nodded slightly.
"According to our investigation..."
"They are a mysterious group."
"Information about them is extremely limited and difficult to obtain."
She continued explaining.
"Their organization does not operate in just one location."
"They are spread across the entire world."
Boris raised an eyebrow.
Alea continued.
"And more importantly..."
"In every conflict between our members and theirs..."
"Our side suffers greater losses."
Boris narrowed his eyes slightly.
"Which means..."
Alea finished the sentence.
"It indicates that their members are extremely powerful."
She paused briefly.
"Possibly even stronger than S-Rank individuals."
Boris slowly leaned back in his chair.
"Stronger than S-Rank?"
A faint smile appeared on his face.
"Hmm..."
"That makes things interesting."
Alea looked slightly worried.
"Because of this strange group..."
"Our control over Russia has slowed down."
"We had already reached ninety-two percent domination."
Boris nodded calmly.
"Yes."
"You’re right."
He closed his eyes for a moment.
"It seems this issue will become much more serious if we don’t deal with it soon."
The Overseer.
A mysterious organization.
One that even confused Jinhoo himself.
Someone who already knew the original storyline.
And yet—
This group had never existed in that story before.
But even so—
No matter who they were.
If they dared to stand in Jinhoo’s way.
Then sooner or later—
He would deal with them.
