The Herb King-Chapter 289 - Einar’s Strength
289 Einar’s Strength
Einar’s eyes flashed with anger. The Gryphons were tamed by Aethelwolf and were then gifted to the Shadow Guards.
“Scram before I make a move!” A pair of gigantic swords suddenly appeared in Einar’s hands. The runes inscribed on both swords emitted golden lights as Einar slowly sent out a stream of his world essence.
Lark Whitmond furrowed his eyebrows when he sensed the power behind those runes. Furthermore, he also felt an overwhelming power in those gigantic swords. “Divine-Rated weapons? Interesting...” He muttered with a smile. He realized that the people confronting them were not as simple as he thought.
“Let me see the power of those swords!” Lark grabbed his Claymore as he sent a fearsome slash toward Einar. The attack produced a blade of light in the shape of a crescent.
Einar narrowed his eyes when he saw this and he immediately negated the slash with a swipe of his gigantic swords.
Lark was surprised when he saw that his attack was vaporized in just a blink of an eye. From the looks of it, the old man in front of him already has the power to be listed in the Heavenly Might Rankings!
Meanwhile, the Shadow Guards also engaged in combat with the elite soldiers of the Paramount Heaven Empire. The Shadow Guards displayed superior sword skills that overwhelmed the famed warriors of the Paramount Heaven Empire. They tried to put up resistance, but they were soon beaten up by the Shadow Guards!
The crowd was amazed by the battle and they thought that the elite soldiers of the Paramount Heaven Empire would effortlessly subdue the mysterious experts in black armor. However, who would have thought that it was actually the other way around?
At this moment, Einar and Lark had already exchanged over a hundred moves. Their figures flashed in the sky like phantoms and every time their weapons clashed, a violent explosion would echo!
.....
“How is this possible?” Eliazar and General Trevor watched the battle with shocked gazes. Never in their minds did they think that the old man who had remained silent during their meal in the restaurant was actually so powerful! He could even fight evenly against Lark Whitmond who was currently ranked 6th in the Heavenly Might Rankings! Such a strong expert is actually willing to serve Aethelwolf!
While Eliazar and General Trevor were watching the battle, Aethelwolf suddenly said while chuckling. “He is strong, right?”
Eliazar turned his gaze to Aethelwolf and said in a serious tone. “Aethelwolf, I didn’t know that you’re Barden Territory is hiding someone as powerful as him. Just what are you planning to do?”
Hearing this, Aethelwolf recalled the ancestor of Ancient Fairies who was sealed in the Frigid Snow Dimension. Even a mighty expert like her was trapped in a coffin. Aethelwolf didn’t want to end up like her. Because of this, he decisively nurtured a large batch of experts in his territory. He didn’t even care if news about his pills would be leaked. In his mind, the surfacing of the Underworlders was more important.
“Eliazar, I want to protect my people. You know about the catastrophe so you should be able to understand my worries. I only want to show that my Barden Territory is a worthy ally for the Mystic Island!” Aethelwolf muttered in a calm voice.
Hearing this, Eliazar turned silent.
“Grandpa Einar might be strong, but Uncle Ramiel, Uncle Albert, and Aenwyn are all stronger than him. There’s also Uncle Zachary(Fast Sword) who is on the same level as Grandpa Einar...” An innocent voice suddenly drifted. Her words were like a bomb that exploded right into their ears.
“Huh? What?!” General Trevor turned his gaze to the little girl and looked at her in shock.
Olivia stuck her tongue out and hid behind Aethelwolf.
The battle between Einar and Lark Whitmond became more intense. Aethelwolf had to put up a barrier to prevent them from destroying the properties in West Ocean City.
“Einar, that’s enough!” Aethelwolf shouted.
As soon as his voice fell, Einar retracted his swords and descended to the ground. He then stood behind Aethelwolf like a loyal servant. The Shadow Guards also stood behind them with backs as straight as a ramrod.
Lark Whitmond also landed on the ground. He sized up Aethelwolf when he noticed how subservient Einar was to him. “So those people are your subordinates, Aethelwolf Lassiter.” He muttered in a cold voice.
Before Aethelwolf could say anything, Eliazar stepped forward and cupped his hands as he said. “Sir Lark, please give me some face and forget about this matter. West Ocean City is a part of our Mystic Island, I don’t want things to escalate when the competition is about to start.”
Lark Whitmond frowned when he saw Eliazar standing beside Aethelwolf. There was also the fearsome General Trevor. It was unwise to offend these fellows so he replied. “Fine. On account of the Mystic Island, I’ll withdraw. Aethelwolf, I hope that the participants of your Leone Empire won’t disappoint us.” He left with his subordinates after saying those words.
Eliazar heaved a sigh of relief when he saw Lark retreating with his soldiers. He then turned his gaze to Aethelwolf and muttered helplessly. “Aethelwolf, I hope that things like this won’t happen again.”
Aethelwolf nodded his head and smiled. “You can rest assured. Please excuse us. We will find somewhere to rest first. See you soon, Eliazar, General Trevor.” He waved his hand and left with his subordinates.
Eliazar sighed and shook his head. “General Trevor, I’ll leave this mess in your hands. Please calm down the citizens for me. I have to report this to the Island Master.” He muttered in a solemn voice. He had to inform everyone about what he had seen. He also wants the Island Master to agree to the alliance proposal. The strength that Aethelwolf showed so far was already more than enough to stand on the same level as the Mystic Island!
“Alright.” The old general nodded his head.
