Chapter 174: Chapter 174 Is Tristan Okay with The Baby?

Hearing the guy ask so seriously, Megan couldn’t help but giggle.

She reached out and pinched Tristan’s slim cheek. "My hubby’s the most attractive man in the world. No one else even comes close."

"You liar. Didn’t you think I was some creep back then?"

Megan’s smile froze a bit. Can’t they just stop bringing that up?

"If you’d really gone back to before our engagement, you seriously would’ve been taken away by him. Just thinking about it gives me the chills." Tristan held her wrist, his eyes filled with unease.

Megan curled her lips into a smile. "Relax. I would’ve thought he was a lunatic too and ran for my life."

Tristan: "..."

After a pause, he gently placed his hand on her belly. "It’s been two months. I really hope it’s a girl—just as lovely as you."

"Why not a boy?" Megan raised her brows.

Tristan narrowed his eyes slightly. "I don’t want another little love rival."

Megan: "..."

The next morning, soft sunlight slipped through the curtains. Megan raised a hand to shield her eyes.

"You’re awake?"

Hearing Tristan’s gentle voice, she snuggled closer to his well-defined chest. "Mm, morning, hubby."

This was the best sleep she’d had in the past two months.

"They’re gonna draw blood later, so no breakfast. But I’ll take you for shrimp dumplings afterward."

"Okay."

They stayed cuddled in bed for a while before finally getting up.

Tristan helped Megan into a cream-colored puffer coat that reached her knees, popped a fluffy white knit hat on her, and wrapped her up in a bright red scarf.

He patted her head with a grin. "How are you this adorable?"

Megan pointed at the coat rack. "Matching outfits?"

Tristan gave a light "hmm." He hadn’t been idle these past few weeks—he’d bought tons of couples’ stuff. He swore the moment Megan returned, they were going to do all the cheesy romantic couple things, starting with dressing alike.

Megan helped him into his white puffer and tied a black scarf around his neck.

Bundled up, Tristan took her hand and they left the villa, driving to a private maternity hospital.

This place was well-known for serving celebrities and high-society families, so privacy was top-tier.

Since they had an appointment, they basically walked right in with no wait.

After a detailed Q&A session, the doctor handed them a bunch of test slips.

Tristan frowned at the stack in his hand. "Why so many tests?"

The doctor nodded slightly. "Mr. Reid, these are routine—blood count, minerals, progesterone levels, screenings for syphilis, HIV, and the usual blood work, plus an ultrasound. Since Mrs. Reid hasn’t had any checkups yet, this first one has to be more thorough. There won’t be as many next time."

Tristan didn’t say much, just quietly led Megan to the blood draw station.

When he saw the nurse pick up the needle, he quickly said, "Please be gentle. She’s scared of needles."

The nurse smiled reassuringly. "Don’t worry, sir. It won’t hurt much at all."

Watching vial after vial being filled—five in total—Tristan’s heart ached for her.

He suddenly remembered her talking about how horribly Molly and Wyatt had treated her in her past life. His chest clenched tight, an ache spreading through him.The nurse said, "All the results will be ready this afternoon, and we’ll send the report to your phone. You can follow up with the doctor then."

Tristan nodded and gently guided Megan to the ultrasound room. 𝚏𝗿𝗲𝐞𝚠𝕖𝐛𝗻𝗼𝐯𝕖𝚕.𝚌𝗼𝗺

The female doctor had a warm smile. "You’re eight weeks along now. The baby’s starting to take shape. Look here—this is the head, arms, and legs. Don’t worry, just eat some fish, shrimp, and fruits, and keep your mood happy."

After the appointment, Tristan took Megan to a private suite at Sky Lounge.

Luckily, Megan wasn’t having much pregnancy nausea, so she could still enjoy her favorites.

Watching her eat with such appetite, Tristan couldn’t help grabbing a few extra dumplings for himself.

Megan puffed her cheeks and mumbled, "Babe, you’ve gotten way too skinny. You really need to eat more."

Tristan chuckled, "Being around you makes me hungry."

Megan giggled, "Hungry for food, or just hungry?"

He tapped her nose lightly. "Once you pop this baby out, I’m not letting you off that easy."

When Megan finally finished, her belly nicely round, they headed back to the Dreamscape Manor.

Five cars were already parked out front—it didn’t take a genius to know the Lewis family had arrived.

Each of her four brothers drove separately, and her parents came in another.

As soon as they stepped inside, they saw her parents, grandparents, and all four brothers sitting in the living room waiting.

Stella rushed over, her eyes red, and pulled Megan into a tight hug. "Baby, you’re finally back. I was worried sick!"

She started crying in her arms.

Zachary walked over and hugged them both. "It’s good you’re safe. That’s all that matters."

Megan looked over and greeted warmly, "Grandpa, Grandma."

Mr. and Mrs. Lewis both nodded with teary smiles. "Welcome home, Megan."

One by one, her brothers came up for hugs, completely ignoring the death glare shooting from Tristan’s eyes.

Megan could already imagine the sulky face Tristan must be making right now.

Stella had Megan sit down beside her on the couch, carefully eyeing her up and down. "You don’t look skinnier... seems like whoever took you in didn’t treat you too badly."

Megan held her hand, laughing. "Mom, relax. No one mistreated me. I was well taken care of. Actually, I’ve got an announcement—I’m pregnant."

Stella froze for a second, then glanced at Tristan with a strange expression. She leaned close and whispered, "Is Tristan okay with the baby?"

It hit Megan—her mom actually thought the baby wasn’t Tristan’s.

What kind of plot twist was that?

She sighed quietly. "Mom, it’s his. What on earth were you thinking?"

Stella gave a sheepish smile. "Oh! That’s good, that’s good."

She glanced at the four brothers. "Little Megan’s gonna be a mom, and none of you even has a girlfriend yet. When will I finally have grandkids?"

Samuel smirked. "Well, grandkids by way of being a grandma’s still something. You expecting a miracle to be a grandma and not a step-in?"

Brandon asked gently, "Did you already go through your check-ups?"

"Yeah, just finished. The results should be out soon," Megan nodded.

Jason, sitting on the couch armrest, offered, "Why don’t you come stay with us at the Lewis house for a while? Mom can take better care of you."

Megan glanced toward Tristan. At some point, he and Oliver were quietly chatting off to the side.

She looked back. "I think I’ll stay here at Dreamscape Manor. Tristan’s been really attentive."

Just then, Tristan turned her way with a smile. "Megan, I’ve got a packed schedule the next few days. How about you and Mom head to your family’s place tonight?"
