The Heiress Spoiled by Four Brothers and One Devilish CEO-Chapter 163 Show-off much?
Dreamscape Manor.
When Megan slowly opened her eyes, Tristan was already lying next to her, propped up on one arm, quietly watching her.
"Sleep okay?"
Diane’s passing had hit her hard. On top of that, her period and a drawn-out cold had her completely wiped. But yesterday, things finally started to ease up.
She snuggled closer into his arms. "Way better. The headache’s gone, too."
Tristan glanced at his watch. "You’re not just better, babe—it’s already two in the afternoon."
"What?!" Megan shot upright. "Why didn’t you wake me earlier? It’s Jason’s birthday today—we’re supposed to head there early!"
He gently rubbed her pale arm. "Aren’t you nervous to see that old bat?"
"I’ve got my man backing me up—why should I be scared?" she said with a grin and dropped a kiss on his nose. "Let me go shower real quick, then we’ll swing by LX at Cloud Vogue for the gift."
Tristan smiled faintly. "Alright."
Megan blinked at him. "Honey, now that I think about it... I’ve never really gotten you a proper gift, have I?"
He pinched her chin playfully. "You already did."
"Really? I don’t remember at all."
He got up and kissed her lips softly. "Babe, it was you. Remember those sheets..."
She quickly covered his mouth. "Shh! Stop it, you’re so annoying."
He chuckled but let it go. "Okay, okay. Go get ready—unless you’d rather stay and shower with me." 𝚏𝐫𝚎𝗲𝕨𝐞𝐛𝕟𝚘𝐯𝚎𝗹.𝕔𝐨𝗺
Tristan had been living damn near like a monk these days. With Megan grieving her adoptive mom, even holding her at night was torture for him. He’d hoped they’d tie the knot this year, but now, well... it’d have to wait.
Once she finished her shower, Megan returned to find four gift boxes neatly placed on the bed.
"What’s all this?"
Tristan stood there with his arms crossed, smirking helplessly. "Gifts from your beloved four brothers."
Megan opened each box, revealing designer dresses made from top-tier fabrics, all clearly custom-tailored. A quick peek at the labels confirmed it—every piece easily cost a few million.
She set the dresses on the bed and walked over to wrap her arms around him. "I’m not choosing any of them. I’ll wear whatever you picked for me."
He gently ran his fingers through her dark hair, twirling a strand as he smiled. "Good girl. Let me dry your hair for you."
He led her to the vanity, picked up the dryer, and patiently dried her hair. Then he brought her into the walk-in closet and chose a beige, long-sleeved dress that was both warm and stylish. With matching beige mid-calf boots, her legs looked long and straight.
"My wife just got over a cold—no need for flashy dresses tonight."
Yup, perfect excuse to reject the well-meaning gifts from her brothers.
After helping her into a camel-colored cashmere coat, Megan also helped him into the same style—they had matching couple coats. Then the two headed out and drove away from Dreamscape Manor.
They arrived at Cloud Vogue luxury mall and headed straight to the LX boutique.
Since Lila Moore’s identity had been made public, the staff treated her with extra respect.
Those shop girls who once brushed her off didn’t dare say a word now. In fact, they were quietly grateful she hadn’t gotten them fired.
From the display case, Megan picked out two tie clips. Tristan’s suit today was silver-gray, so she settled on a full-diamond silver clip.
"Do you like it?"Tristan wrapped his arms around her, lowering his head until their foreheads touched. "I love it. No matter what you give me, I love it. But the one thing I love most—is you."
With a soft smile tugging at her lips, Megan teased, "You’re such a sweet-talker. I don’t buy it."
"Wanna test it out?"
She quickly pressed her finger to his lips, stopping him. "Don’t start. Someone might be watching."
Tristan straightened up and nudged another tie clip on display. "Wrap that one up too," he said casually.
The sales associate immediately moved to pack it and handed it over with both hands.
Tristan slid his arm around Megan’s waist, picked up the shopping bag, and walked out with her.
A customer walking in paused, baffled. "Wait, who are they? They didn’t pay for anything?"
The salesgirl leaned in and whispered, "That guy’s Tristan—the richest man in the world. And the woman is Megan, the boss of LX. Haven’t you seen the news? She even founded the multinational NexusStar."
The customer stared at their retreating backs with wide eyes. "Figures. LX doesn’t just give away stuff to anyone."
On the way to Lincheng, Tristan had one hand on the wheel, the other intertwined with Megan’s fingers.
Megan glanced at him with a smile. "Guess why I didn’t fire those salesgirls?"
"Because you’ve got a kind heart?"
She chuckled. "Not even close. I just like the look on their faces when they realize who I am. Since some folks are always going to judge by appearances, may as well keep them in my store. Maybe it’ll knock some sense into them."
Tristan chuckled lowly; it’d been a while since he saw her smile like that.
An hour later, they arrived at the old Lewis family estate.
The place was already buzzing with guests. Many of them flocked over the moment they spotted Tristan and Megan.
Megan couldn’t care less about the fake greetings and left those to Tristan. She slipped away to find some peace and quiet.
"Megan!"
She turned at the sound and saw Stella walking over quickly in a maroon qipao. As she got closer, she reached out to hold Megan’s hand.
"Look at you, you’ve lost weight."
"Don’t worry, Mom."
Stella paused, surprised by the change from "Godmother" to "Mom," her heart swelling with joy.
She cupped Megan’s cheeks and gave her a kiss, a scene that didn’t go unnoticed by Tristan in the distance. A faint ripple stirred in him—good thing it wasn’t her brothers.
Before long, Zachary, Jason, Oliver, and Samuel were all around her, filling the air with laughter.
Megan handed Jason a gift box. "Happy birthday, Jason! Hope you find your wife soon."
Jason laughed out loud. "Try getting one for Oliver first!"
Oliver’s smile froze into a glare directed right at Jason.
Jason shrugged and opened the gift. Inside was a blue tie clip sparkling with crystals. "Whoa, this might be my favorite present ever. Totally one-of-a-kind!"
Megan nodded. "It’s a limited edition—only one in each color."
Beaming, Jason held up the tie clip for everyone to see. "Check it out! My little sis got this for me."
Samuel pouted, "Megan, that’s not fair. I want one too."
Jason scoffed, "Only I get special treatment."
"Don’t forget me!" a voice chimed in.
Everyone turned to see Tristan strolling over, parting his suit jacket to reveal a similar sparkling silver tie clip.
The four Lewis brothers all looked at him with expressions of pure disdain: Show-off much?
Tristan lifted his chin with a smirk—yep, totally showing off and proud of it.
Just then, Mrs. Lewis appeared, walking over with Amelia by her side.
