Chapter 155: Chapter 155 Get Me Some of Amelia’s Blood

The man’s eyes twitched, and he clenched his teeth hard.

"What did the Shaws really know? Why’s the person behind all this in such a rush to wipe them out?"

His gaze dropped, brows knitting together a little.

Tristan kept going, "Other than the old Mr. Shaw, no one else had a clue. You guys played it too safe and ended up screwing yourselves over."

The man snapped, "No way!"

Tristan smirked, "That’s a confession."

Realizing he’d walked right into a setup, the man panicked. "I have no idea what you’re talking about!"

Then suddenly, he made a brutal move—he bit right through his tongue.

A piece of his tongue hit the floor, blood gushed out, and he started choking on it.

Watching him struggle to breathe, Ryan cursed low, "Shit!"

If this guy died here, and considering the mountain of unsolved deaths piling up, he was seriously in danger of getting suspended.

He quickly shouted for someone to rush the man to the hospital.

Tristan stayed where he was, puffing on his cigarette like nothing happened. Ryan sat across from him.

"What the hell just happened here?"

"One word—dumb."

Ryan felt that punch straight to his ego and coughed awkwardly. "Come again?"

"I bluffed. He already cracked, didn’t he?"

Ryan still looked confused.

Tristan exhaled a ring of smoke, leaned forward, and said casually, "Bernard and Diane... same puppet master pulling the strings."

Ryan’s brows furrowed. "So what did the Shaws know that got them killed?"

Tristan gave a small smile, crushed his cigarette out on the table, then stood up and dusted off his coat.

"I’ve dug out the truth. What do we need you guys for?"

Ryan was too stunned to reply. As much as it stung, it wasn’t wrong.

Tristan walked around the chair toward the door. Just as he reached it, he turned back and smiled, "Go find out if any of the Richmond family ever made it out alive."

The officer taking notes hesitantly asked, "Boss, about Tristan roughing up the suspect just now..."

Ryan shot him a cold glare. "I didn’t see anything. Did you?"

The cop nervously swallowed. "Uh, no, I... fell asleep, didn’t even know Tristan came in."

Ryan kicked him in the butt. "Then go dig out the old Richmond case. It’s time for a fresh look!"Tristan sat in the backseat, throwing a glance at the back of Cameron’s head. "Get me some of Amelia’s blood."

Cameron peeked at the rearview mirror, cleared his throat. "Uh... that might be a tough one."

"Tough?"

Deep breath. "Not really! I mean, no big deal. But boss, you sure that guy is connected to Amelia?" 𝒇𝒓𝙚𝒆𝔀𝓮𝓫𝒏𝓸𝙫𝓮𝓵.𝓬𝙤𝙢

Tristan narrowed his sharp eyes, staying quiet. It was just a hunch, but even the slightest clue could flip the whole case.

Back at Dreamscape Manor, Zeta Prime was crouched on the lawn, dragging a stick through the dirt, messing with ants like some bored kid.

The second it spotted Tristan, it stood right up. "Master’s home. The little fairy’s in a mood though—locked herself in her room."

It handed over a key. "Didn’t dare go in myself. What if she’s in the shower or something, y’know?"

Tristan didn’t pause. He shot into the house, raced up the stairs, unlocked the door with the key.

"Megan?"

Empty. He headed straight to the bathroom—and froze. Megan was fully dressed, sitting in a tub full of water.

She was shaking all over. He rushed to her, scooped her out of the water. Her skin was icy cold, like she’d been frozen solid.

He wrapped her in a bathrobe and carried her back to the bedroom.

Laying her gently on the bed, he started removing her soaking clothes. "You silly girl... your family’s death wasn’t your fault."

Megan sniffled, her nose red, teeth chattering. "But it all started because of me..."

Tristan began toweling her wet hair. "Blaming yourself doesn’t change anything."

He knelt beside her, eyes locking with hers. "Megan, the person behind today’s crash might be linked to Amelia. I went to the station, got the suspect to slip up."

That’s when she finally noticed the deep scratch marks on his hand. "You’re hurt?"

Tristan laughed softly, brushing it off. "It’s nothing. Sweetheart, if it’s for you, I’d trade my life without a second thought."

Megan pulled her robe around her and ran to the closet. When she came back, she had the first-aid kit in hand. Carefully, she disinfected the scratches buried into his pale skin, her heart aching just looking at them.

Suddenly, his phone rang.

He answered, and his gaze turned stone cold.

"What happened?" she asked, sensing the shift.

He narrowed his eyes. "Amelia has been taken."
