The Heiress Acts Mischievously, But Her Family Can Read Her Mind-Chapter 120 I’m with Jiang Nanshu now
Chapter 120: Chapter 120 I’m with Jiang Nanshu now
He probed a little.
Found nothing wrong.
Jiang Nanshu just thought she was being paranoid.
"I better not have some kind of listening device on me that made me slip up. Damn it! If I find out you did something so sneaky, I will find the chance to slap you again."
Just a door away, Lu Qingyan: "..."
His forehead throbbed fiercely.
He raised his hand to touch his face, which had just been medicated, now the redness wasn’t so evident.
But it still hurt a lot.
He leaned against the wall, reaching to touch where his collarbone was bruised, the blood had already clotted, forming a thin scab that stung slightly.
And he was still wearing a loose white T-shirt, making the wound conspicuously ambiguous at a glance.
He sighed deeply, his mind in turmoil.
Unsure of the situation.
Very annoyed, he had never been so irritated before.
It was like encountering something more headache-inducing than the most difficult math problem.
He tilted his head back, looking at the warm orange lights on the hotel corridor ceiling.
His black, tousled hair swayed with his movement, the slightly narrow almond-shaped eyes were beautiful, staring blankly at the light, lips tinged with a light red, frozen in that moment, like a beautiful boy stepped out from a manga.
A light frown between his cool brows made one want to reach out and smooth it away.
"Hehe, Brother Yan, what are you thinking about? You’re so engrossed."
A large hand waved in front of his eyes.
His pupils focused, and with a faint glance, he realized it was Yang Jiashu.
His tone was cool: "What are you doing here?"
Yang Jiashu snorted coldly, pushing up the glasses on the bridge of his nose: "You and Yun Chuan are real buddies, huh? Sneaking here for a vacation without telling me! No wonder he wouldn’t go online when I asked, saying he had plans for the weekend. Do you even consider me a brother?!"
"It’s just for two days, the Chu Family invited, so I came, who invited you?"
Yang Jiashu became sarcastic, not hiding his irritation: "Cheng An did, to catch up with Su Ran. Tsk tsk, you’re the lucky one. Your ex, your current, and the one who has a crush on you are all here. Four people together could play mahjong."
Lu Qingyan had some doubts in his eyes: "Who?"
Yang Jiashu huffed, lowering his voice: "Chu Muxi. I always felt she had those kinds of feelings for you, maybe she didn’t expect that after finally getting rid of Su Ran, Jiang Nanshu would pop up, and that’s why she went abroad?"
Lu Qingyan’s expression remained faint, as if Yang Jiashu were only discussing a stranger with him.
He continued: "Otherwise, why would she only invite you and not me? Obviously, she’s not interested in the wine but something else. Based on my analysis, she’s definitely not a pushover."
Lu Qingyan chuckled: "I didn’t come because of the Chu Family’s invitation."
"Then why? For Su Ran? Bro, we shouldn’t be doing this." Yang Jiashu looked at the mark on his collarbone and hesitantly said: "You and her... cough, it’s pretty intense... How can you be entangled with Jiang Nanshu on one hand and still thinking about your ex on the other? I finally understand why she went crazy, you playboy."
Lu Qingyan: "..."
He raised his hand and rubbed his forehead.
Sometimes verbal explanations really couldn’t be believed. He truly didn’t like Su Ran, no matter how many times he said it, it was taken as pretense, as if he couldn’t let go in his heart.
So, upon hearing Jiang Nanshu’s internal monologue, even if he knew that Su Ran took 30 million for another man’s treatment, he felt not a ripple in his heart.
Jiang Nanshu had calculated everything except for one thing: how could he grow "affection" if he didn’t love Su Ran in his heart?
Was he supposed to rely on their high school friendship from three years ago?
Thinking this.
Lu Qingyan laughed mockingly.
He looked up and saw Su Ran at the end of the corridor; she was also on this floor, three doors down from Jiang Nanshu’s room.
That distance.
Their conversation.
She had heard it all.
But she kept staring at the wound on his collarbone, which annoyed him even more.
Yang Jiashu also saw Su Ran.
Cheng An was accompanying her at her side.
This awkwardly coincidental meeting made Yang Jiashu suddenly shut his mouth the next second; he gave Su Ran an embarrassed smile.
After all, they had come from the same high school.
Even if Su Ran had been gone for three years, the camaraderie of old classmates was still there.
Just as he was wondering how to greet her,
Lu Qingyan looked indifferently at the two people in the distance and told a little lie: "Jiang Nanshu and I are together now, so my behavior can only be considered courting. It doesn’t constitute what you called a playboy; mind your language next time."
Yang Jiashu choked on his own saliva, coughing hard, his narrow eyes behind his glasses widened a lot.
Damn it, was he hallucinating?
Lu Qingyan said he was with Jiang Nanshu?
"Are you kidding me..."
Cheng An’s face also changed dramatically; he subconsciously looked at Su Ran, only to see her complexion turn pale with even her naturally rosy lips losing their color, her hands clenching then loosening by her side, finally falling limp.
The sound of the door being "click" opened resonated.
Jiang Nanshu had changed into a slim-fitting light blue denim skirt, her black hair tied in a loose bun.
She was a bit dumbfounded seeing so many people outside.
"What kind of battle royale is this... Has Su Ran brought her lapdogs to get jealous over Lu Qingyan?"
For a moment, she couldn’t figure out what was going on.
Yang Jiashu looked at her with a complex gaze.
Getting acknowledged by Lu Qingyan, she was truly the first one.
Back in high school, when they teased him about Su Ran, he would be unfazed and keep reading, asking them not to joke like that as it would affect their studies.
They thought Lu Qingyan was shy, speaking in evasive terms.
Turns out he was being literal, with studying as his sole motivation, without a hint of romantic interest.
Jiang Nanshu saw that Su Ran’s gaze had also landed on her, and even Cheng An was looking at her with resentful eyes.
"I really can’t even... Just changing clothes could pull so much hate, like I’m a human target; even a maligned fate is still a fate."
The silence in the air was terrifying.
Jiang Nanshu cracked a slight smile, politely inquiring, "May I ask... are all of you gathered outside my door planning to assassinate me once I come out?"
"I haven’t finished my mischiefs yet; my life can’t end like this!"
Lu Qingyan: "..."
Yang Jiashu couldn’t help but laugh out loud, suddenly finding Jiang Nanshu quite humorous. He coughed and said, "Brother Yan is waiting for you, isn’t he?"
"Are you ready? Let’s go," Lu Qingyan said, turning his head toward Jiang Nanshu.
In a flash, Jiang Nanshu had figured out the whole situation.
"They really can torture somebody. Dragging me here to make Su Ran feel sad and jealous, huh? Playing hard to get, I see how skillful you are. Fine, fine, fine, I’ll play along with you."
Jiang Nanshu rubbed her hands together and the next second she hooked her arm through Lu Qingyan’s, giving him a sweet smile, "Alright then, Brother Qingyan."
Until the three of them walked far away.
Cheng An hurried to explain to Lu Qingyan, "Ranran, don’t be sad, Brother Yan was just dazzled by Jiang Nanshu’s pretty face."
"He couldn’t possibly like that vile woman, Jiang Nanshu, I swear."
A faint smile curled up on Su Ran’s lips as she spoke, "I know."
"What?" Cheng An was somewhat stunned.
"Qingyan is lying. He’s angry about my departure three years ago, and put on this show just for me to see."
Hearing Su Ran’s explanation,
Cheng An felt a mix of happiness and a bittersweet sense of loss.
"I want to try again; it’s my fault, I owe him an explanation."
Cheng An silently followed behind Su Ran, eventually sighing, "I support every decision you make."
The two headed toward the outdoor BBQ area.
At this moment, downstairs,
Two black luxury cars pulled up one after the other in front of Fenglin Hotel.
Jiang Yisen was smoking, his eyebrow raised, with a wild smile at his lips as he looked toward the man getting out of the other car, "Mr. Fang, we still need to continue our negotiations."
Fang Minghe, dressed in a sharply tailored black suit, was truly annoyed that Jiang Yisen had followed him here.
"There’s nothing to discuss between us."
As he walked forward, he suddenly stopped, his eyes falling on Jiang Nanshu in her light blue denim dress.
His eyes lit up.
There she was again.
The perfect spokesperson in his mind!
But Jiang Nanshu and the others moved quickly, soon disappearing from view.
Fang Minghe wanted to follow, but Jiang Yisen blocked him.
"How about considering a collaboration to take down that bastard Bao Yan?"
"It’s not a fit."
Seeing his gaze fixated in one direction,
Jiang Yisen also looked that way.
And there he saw Su Ran, in a white dress, walking out.
Her aura was fresh and elegant.
A strong sense of astonishment flashed through Jiang Yisen’s eyes.
A real-life fairy!
