As the audience in the crowd became intrigued by the need for sudden transportation, Lin Loi’s voice resounded to them.

"Everyone could relax yourself. There will be a projection screen for viewing during the first round. We only transported them to another room to ensure the audience wouldn’t faint from the heat."

The first round would be to face Ye Ming’s flame, so those without any experience were guaranteed to succumb to the heat.

However, they couldn’t just block the audience from seeing anything because they did pay money to spectate.

Moreover, some might suspect foul play or rigged competition if they couldn’t even see who and why they were eliminated.

Toward this problem, Ye Ming had long resolved it by streaming it to the stadium’s audience only.

’Looks like the contestants are coming.’ Ye Ming glanced at the jade token and received the signal.

Amidst their confusion, a shining beacon of light shone at Ye Ming.

When the alchemists noticed him standing at the center of a platform, their eyes widened in shock.

"Hey, step down from the platform."

"Stop posturing and messing around!"

The alchemists immediately thought it was a fellow contestant who was fooling around.

"Silence!" In response, Ye Ming snorted coldly and glared at the few who questioned him. He didn’t even bother looking at their name and only the number on their tag.

"Contestant numbers 87 and 105. The both of you may leave as you are eliminated for disrespecting the examiner." Ye Ming coldly declared.

When contestants number 87 and 105 heard that, they didn’t panic or anything. Instead, they laughed and sneered in response.

"Oh dear, I can’t believe someone is actually trying to pull a trick like that."

"Haha, this is the funniest joke ever."

Unfortunately for them, before they could even react, they were teleported away from the room.

Soon, they emerged on the open stage again and many people in the audience were stupefied.

After all, the large projection screen that allowed everyone to see it regardless of their spots, saw that contestant numbers 87 and 105 had an X mark next to them.

The X mark indicated elimination. Without much surprise, these two alchemists who hailed from an affiliation had their people breathing in anger.

They weren’t angry by the examiner, but by their behavior which resulted in them being eliminated from the start.

Needless to say, their competitors were definitely looking at them with an amused expression.

Meanwhile, at the highest stage, Song Jing twitched her eyelid.

"Eliminated just for that?" She muttered in disbelief.

Although the tone that the two contestants used wasn’t great, they merely thought Ye Ming was a fellow contestant and warned him to step down from the platform meant for examiners.

Even she had neglected Ye Ming when they first met, much less these contestants.

In fact, she highly doubted the audience knew about Ye Ming’s status or presence until today.

"City lord, shouldn’t you do something about this?" Song Jing turned to Lin Loi and asked.

"There’s nothing I can do." Lin Loi shook her head. "Prior to the competition, Senior Dao already told me in advance that character is more important than anything. If he found anyone’s character displeasing, then he would eliminate them regardless of their level or background."

Upon hearing that, Song Jing could only sigh softly and give up. Since even Lin Loi had said it in such a manner, it would be hard for her to overturn the decision.

Moreover, the eliminated contestants were only at the 6th rank. It wasn’t enough to warrant her to make any big deal.

With that being said, she returned her gaze to the projection screen.

"Now, does anyone still want to question my status?" Ye Ming raised the question, his gaze wandering around.

Wherever his gaze landed, the contestants all lowered their heads and refused to meet eye to eye.

The two fellow contestants were teleported away and no authorities had intervened.

What did that mean?

It meant that the person in front of them was truly the examiner.

Seeing that there was no more opposition, Ye Ming nodded in satisfaction.

"Welcome to hell!" He spread his arms and grinned menacingly.

"You all might think this first round is easy, but I have you warned now. This isn’t easy, but a nightmarish hell event that you could become scarred for life. So if you are frightened already, then raise your hand and you shall be teleported away. This is your last chance!"

Despite his warning and seemingly sarcastic tone, none of the contestants raised their hands.

They had gone through numerous obstacles and the dreadful Fushang Forest to arrive here. As for those who had protection, they were even more unwilling to give up now.

Their sect elders, sect leaders, clan heads, clan elders, etc were all watching them right now. To give up now was essentially giving up their life.

"Since no one gives up, then find an empty spot to sit." Ye Ming declared.

A few minutes later, every contestant sat down. They didn’t bother to move from their position and simply sat down. Only a few margins of people near the center cautiously moved to another section.

Seeing their action, Ye Ming chuckled amusingly. "The flame will dance around randomly. So to survive for half an hour, it’ll depend on your luck."

As soon as he finished his words, he unleashed a small wisp of the Violet Origin Flame, its presence startled the numerous contestants.
