The Headline Queen: President Hawthorne is Her Die-Hard Fan!-Chapter 487: Why Are You Kicking Me Out?
Jordan Yorke couldn’t wait to wake up Penelope Thatcher and show her how he looked now.
But he knew Penelope’s temper wasn’t great, especially if someone woke her while she was asleep, she’d get angry.
So Jordan didn’t dare, he just sat at the bedside, waiting for Penelope to wake up and surprise her.
When Penelope woke up, she was startled to see Jordan dressed so oddly.
Upon closer inspection, wasn’t this the stuff she bought for her dad? Why was it on Jordan?
Penelope was still a bit confused, while Jordan thought Penelope was mesmerized by his outfit.
Jordan always thought he looked good, not lacking compared to those successful guys, now with a little dressing up, he amazed Penelope.
With a smile on his face, he said to Penelope, "Penelope, what do you want to eat today? I’ll make it for you."
Penelope’s expression turned sour, "Jordan Yorke, who gave you the right to touch my things? Did I give you permission?"
She tolerated Jordan’s small flaws usually, after all, a nanny is also human, you can’t expect everyone to follow your preferences.
But Jordan touching without permission the stuff she bought for her dad was something she couldn’t stand.
Today it’s just casually taking things? What about the next day? Casually handling her?
This male nanny was really becoming more and more unruly.
Jordan didn’t feel Penelope’s anger; he scratched his head, saying, "I thought since you bought it, it might be a waste if I didn’t wear it, so I put it on. Do I look particularly good in it? But Penelope, you should stop spending like this, living requires budgeting..."
He started his usual spiel again.
Penelope was nagged so much she forgot she was initially angry, "Alright alright, stop talking, hurry up and take off the clothes, put on your own."
Also, she hadn’t told Jordan those things were bought for her dad; now, it’s just her and Jordan at home, it’s understandable he misunderstood, no need to be angry at Jordan for it.
Jordan said, "Why take it off? Since you bought it for me, you want me to wear it. I’ll wear it like this every day, how about that?"
Penelope thought about Jordan’s usual attire, which seemed quite embarrassing when he went out.
And since Jordan had worn these, she couldn’t take them to give to her dad anymore.
Given the circumstances, she’d just give them to Jordan, and choose new ones for her dad.
So Penelope didn’t oppose further, just said, "Next time, don’t touch the things I buy so casually."
Jordan assumed Penelope didn’t like him touching her things because she wanted to surprise him.
He nodded and agreed, "I got it."
Seeing him still smiling, Penelope said irritably, "You’re still smiling? Do you know these were for my dad! Now you’ve used my dad’s stuff, I have to buy new ones for him!"
Jordan’s smile froze immediately.
No wonder he thought these things didn’t fit well; he thought Penelope didn’t know his size, so he’d inform her so she wouldn’t buy wrong in the future.
But unexpectedly, Penelope never intended to buy these for him; it was his wishful thinking that Penelope treated him well, willing to spend money on him.
Now it seemed Penelope wasn’t as good to him as he thought.
Jordan felt a bit upset; he believed Penelope had betrayed his sincere feelings, thinking he’d compromised to be with her, even abandoned his true love, yet Penelope treated him like this.
Her father was probably a country bumpkin too, could he use such expensive stuff? Didn’t she feel it was wasted on him?
Jordan thought all his good deeds towards Penelope had gone to waste, Penelope couldn’t match his sincere feelings.
Jordan, feeling unhappy, kept silent, hoping Penelope would realize he was upset.
But his silence brought peace to Penelope; she nestled on the sofa watching TV and eating chips, enjoying herself.
Seeing her this way, Jordan felt even more pent-up anger.
Penelope now bossed him around, just because she had money. Did she know where that money came from?
Jordan didn’t argue with Penelope, still willing to be with her; how could Penelope treat him this way?
Jordan decided he couldn’t indulge Penelope anymore; he needed a career to make her realize he’s not ordinary.
Perhaps dressing up with branded suits and watches today gave Jordan immense confidence; he believed if he tried, he could become successful.
So Jordan said to Penelope, "Penelope, I thought about it and feel finding a job outside might be better, what do you think?"
Penelope looked over; she’d just hired Jordan as a nanny not long ago, was he quitting now?
But now she also felt Jordan was an annoying nanny, always nagging and meddling with her things, acting on her behalf.
Since Jordan didn’t want to do it anymore, she had no reason to keep him.
Besides, since he had great ambitions and didn’t want to be a nanny anymore, she should support that.
So Penelope nodded, "Okay."
Thinking she’d call the agency in a few days to find a strong and sensible female nanny.
Seeing Penelope’s indifference, Jordan felt even more aggrieved, "Do you really want me to find a job outside?"
Penelope nodded, "You’re a man; shouldn’t you work outside?"
Moreover, being a man with no money, aspiring to live lavishly like her is impossible.
"Just let me know when you leave; I’ll have someone help you move your stuff."
Jordan looked at Penelope in shock, as if hearing something incredible.
He just wanted to find a job outside, did Penelope think that meant she wanted him gone?
Was Penelope threatening him?
Afraid he’d find a job, become independent economically, no longer reliant on her, and soar to success without needing her anymore, so now she wanted to trap him at home, making him rely on everything?
Though it showed Penelope’s love for him, wasn’t this excessive?
He’s a man, meant for broader horizons, yet Penelope wanted him idle forever.
How could this woman be so overbearing? If she hadn’t saved him before, he’d not even glance at her.
Moreover, should Jordan be controlled by Penelope all his life, just to repay the favor?
Jordan gritted his teeth, was Penelope really thinking she could threaten him?
Jordan looked at Penelope and asked, "Penelope, do you really want me to leave?"
If Penelope said yes, he’d leave, regardless of how much Penelope begged him later, he wouldn’t return.
Seeing Jordan’s gloomy expression, Penelope suddenly remembered, probably he was anxious without a place to stay after quitting being her nanny.
After all, they’d been together for some time, so Penelope, being kind-hearted, was ready to say she’d let Jordan stay until he found a job.
But Jordan spoke first, "Penelope, why do you want to send me away?"
