The Happy Farmer Wanderer-Chapter 942 Ah Gou Dog Park
The term "industrial chain" was one Li Qing had heard countless times, familiar to the point of boredom, perfectly clear about its meaning.
Yet, when the phrase spilled from Ah Gou’s lips, Li Qing felt both he and the term "industrial chain" were greatly insulted. Their utterly conscienceless behavior was now being described in such terms.
They really treated human conscience as trash, grinding it underfoot again and again.
What makes us human is our humanity.
But these individuals were different, not considering themselves human, and certainly not treating others as human.
Wang Baichuan, suppressing the raging fury in his heart, said sternly, "Who all are involved? Spill the beans!"
"What’s the big deal, why should I confess anything to you?" Although Ah Gou’s expression was dull, his tone was highly emotional, "You know very well who they are. Do you really need me to repeat it? Let me tell you, if you don’t clear your ties with Xiao Qiang soon, I’ll treat you as goods and bury you as well. My patience has its limits; don’t think I don’t know what you’re up to behind my back."
Wang Baichuan’s gaze sharpened on Ah Gou’s fixed stare, his face turning green instantly.
"What does he mean by that?" he turned and whispered to Li Qing.
"Can’t you see? The little brat’s got feelings, no big deal, just keep asking your questions," Li Qing scoffed disdainfully. "It seems like, subconsciously, he already considers you his concubine. Just keep asking."
Wang Baichuan nodded and continued sternly, "Who are your accomplices?"
"Why are you being so stubborn, woman?" Ah Gou, with a lifeless expression, looked disapprovingly at Wang Baichuan and muttered, "Do you need me to name names? Isn’t it just you and Xiao Qiang handling online communication, liaising with the island and the buyers, while the ’Idiot Brothers’ handle logistics? What’s wrong with you today?"
"No one else involved?" Wang Baichuan demanded sternly.
"Oh, I see now, no wonder Xiao Qiang was also sounding me out the other day. You think I’ve brought someone else on board, right? I’ll tell you, there’s nothing like that. I’ve always been upright in my dealings—there is if there is, there isn’t if there isn’t," Ah Gou said disdainfully, with an expression still resembling a walking corpse.
But the lack of expression on his face didn’t prevent him from being emotional in his speech; those were two different things.
"Where are these people now?" Wang Baichuan demanded.
"At the dog farm, where else," Ah Gou muttered displeasedly, and then shouted, "Did you even listen to what I just said? Break it off with Xiao Qiang right now, or I’ll deal with both of you together. Damn it, just thinking about it infuriates me, messing around at my bedside in the middle of the night, thinking I’m drunkenly unconscious? Fuck you, why aren’t you that audacious usually?"
Li Qing was shocked by his rant. This guy, with his utterly conscienceless deeds, yet his endurance was remarkable.
A person so indifferent to life, making money in such a way, yet could tolerate his woman messing around with another man right by his side, Li Qing had to admit that if this guy wasn’t deranged, he was indeed impressive.
He could be described as a supreme example among dogs or a top-level cuckold ninja.
"I’ll go capture them; why don’t you ask more carefully?" Li Qing said softly to Wang Baichuan.
With key information in hand, he was getting impatient.
Wang Baichuan looked at Director Jia for his opinion.
Director Jia, with a solemn expression, nodded firmly and said, "I agree. Let’s apprehend those already implicated, and we can interrogate the rest slowly, to avoid leaking any information with delays."
"Let’s split up then; we’ll go find the scavenger old man, Qingzi, you lead a team to the dog farm."
Li Qing had no objections to such an arrangement.
"Baichuan, gather some people for Qingzi," Director Jia instructed.
Li Qing shook his head and said, "I’d rather use my own people, it’s a good opportunity to see what they are made of."
"Alright, since Qingzi wants to take this chance to train his troops, we will definitely cooperate," Director Jia laughed heartily, "Let’s proceed with that plan."
Wang Baichuan asked with some confusion, "When did you get your own troops?"
"Not too long ago, I finally look a bit like a group leader now," Li Qing replied with a smile.
"This calls for congratulations. How about this, once this case is settled, I’ll treat you to a meal, no, a feast," Wang Baichuan said, his expression serious, though his smile seemed forced, giving off a hint of strained cheerfulness.
Li Qing knew he didn’t mean anything by it; it was wholly because Ah Gou’s situation had affected his mood.
"Okay, then I’ll hold you to that," Li Qing smiled faintly, took out his phone, found Gao Ming’s number, and conveyed the instructions about their next steps.
Then, the group quickly split into two teams and headed straight for Tongcheng.
The interrogation of Ah Gou was actually not over, but now that they had crucial information, there was no rush. They could conduct a more thorough interrogation once other team members captured the involved parties.
With Huan Ling Ji’s extraordinary methods, interrogating these people was not challenging at all, almost effortless; direct questioning would suffice without taking much time.
Li Qing and Huan Ling Ji, in a team of two, directly targeted the dog breeding place on the outskirts of Western City, as described by Ah Gou.
The name of the place was Ah Gou Dog Breeding Ground.
In this gang, Ah Gou was one of the organizers and had a significant say.
The location was very remote, almost on the fringe of the suburb’s outskirts, with only a livestock farm and a garbage collection station nearby, with no other superfluous buildings.
Moreover, the place was well-hidden, requiring a detour through a patch of forest to be seen.
When Li Qing and Huan Ling Ji arrived, Gao Ming was already there with his team.
They had even arrived before Li Qing.
"What’s the situation inside? Did we startle the snake by hitting the grass?" Li Qing looked around the environment and asked in a deep voice.
Gao Ming shook his head, "We avoided all surveillance, absolutely undetected. However, we grabbed one man. We just happened to bump into him head-on when we arrived. The guy seemed to be returning from a delivery and we caught him by chance."
"Where is the person?" Li Qing asked.
"Leader, this way," Gao Ming immediately responded.
He led Li Qing and Huan Ling Ji through the forest in front of the dog breeding ground, and it was only in the middle of the forest that Li Qing saw a middle-aged man being restrained by two team members.
He had an honest, kind-looking appearance, not at all resembling a villain who had done countless misdeeds.
