The Happy Farmer Wanderer-Chapter 270 Reserved and Unrestrained_1
Yun Xiu was particularly unrestrained, any words could just pop out of her mouth.
Their conversation made Li Qing’s drunkenness vanish instantly, and his blood began to boil.
Through their dialogue, he could clearly tell how far they had progressed, the images in his mind were vivid.
Bang!
A dull thud suddenly came from next door.
It sounded like something had fallen to the floor.
Suddenly, Yun Xiu’s voice rose, "I told you not to drink so much, why wouldn’t you listen? You’ve gone soft now, haven’t you?"
"This morning, I mentioned something to you and you knew it all, agreeing so readily. And now we’re only a few minutes in and you’ve turned into an eel, tell me, did you do that on purpose?"
"How could it be on purpose? I was just entertaining the guests!" Chen Han grumbled.
"Nonsense!" Yun Xiu cursed angrily, "You just wanted to drink on your own, stop making excuses."
"Get lost, go sleep downstairs, I get annoyed just looking at you now!"

The door next door opened.
Then footsteps descending the stairs quickly followed.
Li Qing couldn’t help feeling regretful.
Chen Han didn’t know how good he had it.
To ignore such a beautiful wife and obsess over alcohol!
Could alcohol really taste that good?
Listening in from around the corner, Li Qing wished he could go over and help Yun Xiu soothe her anger and quell the fire within her body.
Not long after Chen Han went downstairs, muffled moans began to seep through from next door.
Li Qing immediately perked up his ears.
Was Yun Xiu taking care of things herself?
The sounds suggested she’d been repressing for far too long!
Even when touching herself she managed to let out seductive words.
Early the next day, Li Qing went for a walk outside before returning to freshen up.
Yun Xiu was already up, picking vegetables in front of the house.
"Sis-in-law, hasn’t Big Brother Chen gotten up yet?" Li Qing asked as he approached, his gaze subtly drifting downwards.
Yun Xiu, sitting sideways on the steps with her right leg propped up, was using her right arm for support.
For a woman wearing a skirt, this posture was perhaps too bold.
Li Qing caught a glimpse of red, but it wasn’t clear.
Once Yun Xiu looked up at him, he immediately averted his eyes.
"Him? He’s gone out to help people again," Yun Xiu said irritably. "Leaving heaps of chores at home, he’s always bustling about for others. I suspect he’s got his eye on someone’s wife or young bride, the bastard."
Li Qing couldn’t help but chuckle quietly.
He no longer believed that.
From the interactions the day before, Chen Han seemed to be nothing but a reticent, honest man.
And Yun Xiu seemed to enjoy teasing him.
In her heart, she probably knew very well that Chen Han was not fooling around outside.
Otherwise, with her forceful personality, how could she constantly bring up the subject yet still live with Chen Han?
"Sis-in-law, I’d like to take a bath, is there any hot water?" Li Qing changed the subject.
"Yes, I just took a bath myself. The water is still hot," Yun Xiu answered. "The towels are on the wall. You can use the red one. The blue one is that deadbeat Chen’s, it stinks."
"A grown man who doesn’t know how to keep himself clean, using one towel from head to crotch—I find it disgusting."
The speaker may not have intended any specific meaning, but for Li Qing, the listener, a warmth quietly blossomed in his heart.
Chen Han’s wife actually let him use her bath towel...
Li Qing acknowledged with a sound and stepped into the bathroom.
Next to the washbasin carved out of bluestone, there was a basket of old clothes.
Several brightly colored garments drew Li Qing’s attention.
He picked one up to examine it and found it was Chen Han’s wife’s intimate panties.
Almost every piece had rings of stains on them.
She was young and shouldn’t have issues with incontinence, so there was only one possibility for these stains.
The marks of wetness.
"Really quite sexy," Li Qing muttered to himself, set down the clothes, and turned on the shower.
After drenching himself in warm water for a while, the enchanting thoughts in his mind began to subside.
The continuous stimuli were almost driving him to the point where he could hardly control himself.
By the time he finished his shower, Yun Xiu’s breakfast was ready, and Chen Han had also returned.
After the three of them sat together and ate a breakfast of white porridge and stir-fried greens, Chen Han led Li Qing up the mountain.
"This whole hillside is planted with honeysuckle,"
Chen Han stood on the mountaintop, pointing out a northern area to Li Qing.
"This medicine is easy to grow; anyone who can farm can grow it," said Chen Han, "but harvesting it is a hassle."
"Picking honeysuckle is a delicate task. Machines can’t do it; it has to rely on manual labor to pinch off each one!"
"If labor is expensive, growing honeysuckle isn’t much profitable, as the margins are slim after all the effort."
"But there are also quite a few benefits to growing it. The medicinal use is widespread, and the market is almost always stable."
Li Qing took out his notebook and meticulously recorded everything Chen Han said.
It was a method he had learned from Qin Wenjun.
Indeed, a good memory is not as reliable as a bad pen.
Everything might seem clear now, but when it comes to actually doing it, it’s certain that details would slip through the cracks.
Writing it down was undoubtedly the most foolproof method.
"In the past two years, the most extensive cultivation around here has been of honeysuckle and Bupleurum," Li Qing walked into the medicinal field, as Chen Han continued speaking, "They are not valued highly, but the market is stable, and they have a high survival rate. It’s like how wheat is planted extensively in the north; it’s a safe investment."
"Besides these two, plants like coltsfoot, platycodon, codonopsis, and astragalus are also widely cultivated. But these kinds of medicine are not easy to grow; it indeed takes some skill."
Li Qing nodded and directly expressed, "I want to understand all of them."
"Of course, I’ll take you to each field to see for yourself. The cultivation of medicinal herbs has to be appropriate," Chen Han nodded and said, "Unlike farming crops, almost every kind of herb requires a lot of manual labor."
"Take coltsfoot, for example. The fruit is so small it has to be dug out by hand. If you don’t manage labor well and some workers slack off or play tricks, you could lose several thousand."
All that morning, Li Qing followed Chen Han around the fields.
Li Qing wanted to understand everything, but by the end of the morning, he had not fully grasped even how to plant honeysuckle.
What Chen Han referred to as casually planting turned into a skilled task for Li Qing.
But he wasn’t in a hurry.
He had set aside more than half a month, and there was plenty of time.
By the time they returned at midday, Yun Xiu had already prepared the meal.
After lunch and a midday rest, Li Qing went down to the fields with Chen Han.
Today he was there to work, to experience harvesting honeysuckle firsthand.
His arrival was perfectly timed with the third honeysuckle picking session.
Even though, according to Chen Han, the medicine picked in the morning was of better quality.
But with so much labor being money, how could they afford door-to-door service, working only half a day?
