The Happy Farmer Wanderer-Chapter 103 Who Traps Whom_1
Li Qing’s sworn words somewhat relaxed Yu Lan, but she remained tense.
"Qingzi, leaving the village temporarily is the safest plan. After Hu Youyu expanded his business these past two years, he’s gotten to know quite a few people. If he’s dead set on making trouble for you, you won’t be able to handle him."
Li Qing laughed softly, "Auntie, don’t worry, I really do have a plan."
After speaking, he stood up and took out some iodine and cotton swabs from the cupboard.
"Sister-in-law, let me treat that for you first."
Seeing that she couldn’t persuade Li Qing otherwise, Yu Lan sighed helplessly and tilted her face up for Li Qing to apply the medicine.
There weren’t many injuries on Yu Lan’s face, but the bruising was apparent.
As Li Qing carefully dabbed the medicine on her, he admired her strikingly beautiful face.
Such a beautiful woman would probably be spoiled rotten in any other family.
Looking at those delicate red lips, he couldn’t resist leaning down.
Yu Lan moaned softly and suddenly hugged Li Qing tightly.
She took the initiative, fervently slipping her tongue into Li Qing’s mouth to explore.
After a bout of intense intimacy, Yu Lan glanced at Li Qing with a flushed face, "Since you have your own way of handling this, I won’t try to persuade you anymore. I need to go back; there’s still a mess at home that needs my attention."
"Okay, Auntie, you go back first," said Li Qing.
He didn’t ask Yu Lan for the details of why she was beaten, but he could guess some of it.
It must have been because Yu Lan spoke up for him and got hit by Hu Youyu.
Sitting on the stone steps outside the main hall, Li Qing let the breeze cool his mind before calling Brother Gong.
"Brother Gong, Hu Youyu is causing trouble again, it looks like it’s time for you to step in."
"...Okay, wait for me in town." 𝐟𝚛𝕖𝚎𝕨𝗲𝐛𝚗𝐨𝐯𝐞𝕝.𝐜𝗼𝗺
The somewhat slow-witted but hulking Brother Gong spoke briefly and then hung up.
Li Qing was slightly stunned. Was it that direct?
This was his first time dealing with such a person, and he had prepared a whole basket of words, planning to explain everything from start to finish.
But unexpectedly, Brother Gong didn’t give him the chance to speak any further.
Li Qing then quickly left the house and rode his three-wheeled motorcycle towards the town.
By the time he arrived in town, Brother Gong had already arrived with his people.
He was accompanied by seven or eight robust men, and there were even two wearing chefs’ uniforms.
"Where’s that Hu guy?" Brother Gong asked as he pulled a pig-slaughtering knife from his sleeve and squinted at the blade.
Li Qing’s eyelids twitched at this action.
If that knife was used, things would really blow up, and he would be in a world of trouble too.
"Brother Gong, I was hoping we wouldn’t have to resort to violence if possible," Li Qing said.
"Not fight?!" Brother Gong’s thick eyebrows rose sharply.
Li Qing said, "I have a plan. I’ll get Hu Youyu and his men to beat me up, and I’m hoping you can record the evidence and send him to prison."
Brother Gong’s face grew stern, and after looking at Li Qing for a moment he said, "If that’s your plan, it could work, but you’ll have to take some punishment."
"As long as this matter gets resolved once and for all, what do I have to fear from a little pain?" Li Qing said nonchalantly.
Brother Gong having pulled out a knife and planning to fight Hu Youyu’s men was unsettling Li Qing.
If someone truly got stabbed, he would not only be out a lot of money, but his future would be ruined as well.
Brother Gong agreed to the plan.
The two then divided the tasks and laid out the details.
With the plan in place, Li Qing took up position on the main road to Sanhe Village, a bottleneck Hu Youyu would have to pass.
Meanwhile, Brother Gong and his men were hiding close by.
Initially, they hid in the forest, a bit farther away from the road.
But later, seeing a watermelon vendor on the roadside, Brother Gong led his men to buy a few watermelons and sat down in the vendor’s shade to eat.
The distance between the two parties was a mere seven or eight steps.
"You want some?" Gong Ge lifted the watermelon in his hand, shouting to Li Qing from a distance.
Li Qing was instantly speechless.
This is really eating melons as a bystander.
He had just waved his hand to signal that he didn’t want any when several cars drove over from the direction of the town.
The first two sedans were leading the way, followed by a group of motorcycles, the rumble of their exhaust pipes shaking the road.
Li Qing swept his gaze across and recognized the license plate of the first car.
It was Hu Youyu’s car!
"Damn Hu, the old dog."
Li Qing bellowed, tilting his motorcycle into the middle of the street.
Screech!
A sudden chorus of harsh braking sounds erupted.
Hu Youyu jumped out of the car, his gaze fiercely fixed on Li Qing, "Little brat, thinking of running, huh?"
"Whether I run or not is none of your damn business, what are you doing bringing all these little shits? You want to fight me? Let me tell you, you’d better think clearly, I’m barefoot and not afraid of you with shoes on. If you’ve got the guts, kill me today," Li Qing barked back.
"I’m going to kill you today!" Hu Youyu snarled fiercely.
"Everyone, whoever kills him, I’ll take care of the aftermath, cash on the spot!"
A group of unevenly matched men parked their vehicles on the side of the road, grabbed various weapons from their cars, and began to encircle Li Qing.
Seeing the formidable contingent, Li Qing instantly felt a wave of panic.
There were more than a dozen men, most armed with iron tools like wrenches and steel pipes.
He looked around but couldn’t find a single weapon to make do with.
In the melon shed, Gong Ge was wielding a butcher’s knife.
Crack.
With one slice, the watermelon was cut in two.
Li Qing adopted a defensive stance and, as the crowd rushed towards him, he first landed a punch on the face of a young man. But just as he was taking action, he was fiercely kicked in the lower back twice, lurching forward.
Truly, one pair of hands can’t fight against four.
When those chaotic weapons unscrupulously smashed towards him, Li Qing had no way to cope.
He could only seize the opportunity to grab someone and beat them fiercely.
Among them were a few youngsters, seemingly eighteen or nineteen years old, who were particularly ruthless.
Enduring the pain, Li Qing grabbed the hair of one of them, slamming him to the ground, fists pounding without care.
"Hiss..."
Suddenly, Li Qing felt a sharp pain in his lower back.
He quickly turned to look, his clothes torn, a gash of about ten centimeters long slashed across his lower back, skin and flesh curled outwards, bleeding profusely.
In that moment, Li Qing was indeed afraid.
They had actually used knives!
And there was more than one.
"Fuck!"
In the melon shed, Gong Ge saw this and, in a fury, threw the watermelon harshly to the ground and charged with the butcher’s knife.
"Quick, help! Damn it, these people have gone mad!"
"Stop, all of you, now!"
Gong Ge, leading his men, rushed over quickly and yanked Li Qing out of the crowd.
"I’ll take him to the hospital first; you guys deal with these bastards. Put the knives away."
Gong Ge hoisted Li Qing onto his back, loudly instructing the men he brought with him.
Li Qing felt as if he was truly done for this time, his consciousness growing blurry.
Before Gong Ge rushed in, he had been slashed a few more times, but where exactly he couldn’t feel anymore.
All he could feel was pain everywhere, stars erupting before his eyes.
