Chapter 406: Chapter 277: Men on Men? (5k)_2
Every other day at the divine authority meeting, singing a different tune and causing minor disturbances every now and then, and after some time, mingling with different deities to incite them to rebel against His Majesty the King of Gods—this had basically become the norm.
As he was almost always punished by Zeus on these occasions, stripping him of some of his chief god’s authority, none of the deities on Olympus took these minor acts or Poseidon seriously.
For this reason, after the usual reprimand of Poseidon, the Father God would immediately cease and desist without any intention of investigating further.
After all, Poseidon would always lose, and he would always win.
The King of Olympus was endowed with a divine mandate, his position unshakeable.
But winning too much led His Majesty the King of Gods to gradually lose his sense of danger. After dealing with Poseidon, the apparent troublemaker, he fell into a mindset that overlooked the true threat lurking beneath the surface of the water.
—This time, it wasn’t just Poseidon’s family causing minor troubles; instead, seven dissatisfied chief gods were together plotting a rebellion!
Having realized the key point, Apollo felt as if clouds had parted to reveal the sun, and his mood greatly improved.
In that case, they indeed had the opportunity to have a “discussion” with the Father God.
“Don’t get too happy too soon. Even if due to carelessness he loses the initiative, he is still Zeus, the uniquely powerful King of Olympus,”
Luo En timely threw cold water on Apollo’s overly optimistic outlook, to prevent his nephew from becoming overzealous and spoiling the advantageous situation at hand.
The God of Light outside the cell felt a chill in his blood as he was reminded, his heart tightening.
Indeed, the Father God was vested with a divine mandate and had also devoured Metis, the original Goddess of Wisdom, making him the strongest King of Gods ever.
Even with a plan and an unexpected advantage, dethroning him was not going to be an easy feat.
Even if the seven chief gods teamed up, it would be the same.
Subconsciously, Apollo looked towards the inmate inside the cell, as if expecting a certain answer.
“Indeed, the King of Gods in his prime is difficult to shake. But what if he isn’t in his prime?”
Luo En smiled slightly, speaking with profound meaning.
“Remember the battle against Typhon?”
Upon hearing this, Apollo’s eyes brightened, thoughtful.
When Demon Ancestor Typhon burst out of Tartarus Hell, assaulting Olympus at first, the pantheon of gods was indeed at a disadvantage.
At that time, the most powerful King of Gods, Zeus, fell back into his old ways, hiding the Divine Artifact “Thunderbolt” in a cave and going off to a secret rendezvous with a nymph named Pluto.
The Divine Artifact emitted smoke and sparks in the cave, incessantly radiating mighty power. Typhon, advised by the Mother Earth Gaea, stole this immensely powerful divine artifact and secretly hid it in another cave.
Only then did he roar and shriek, breaking free from the bonds of Tartarus Hell and officially gathering divine monsters and Titans to launch a total assault on Olympus.
Because Zeus was elsewhere frolicking, the gods had to unite against the enemy, with Apollo naturally participating.
It was an extremely brutal divine war. Demon Ancestor Typhon rampaged from one end of the earth to the other, spreading his serpentine hair and raising massive arms to strike the skies. The heavens were thrown into chaos; constellations were misplaced or plunged into the Sea of Falling Stars, and the sun and moon appeared simultaneously. Apollo was the first to confront him and his chariot was easily brought down. His sister Artemis then fought against him but ended up covered in wounds. The compassionate winds that came to assist were torn apart and couldn’t reassemble for a long time.
Following that, when Poseidon, unable to do anything with his chariot in the Ocean of Okeanos, tried to stir up a giant wave, the water didn’t reach the monster’s waist and instead provoked it further. This demon ancestor kicked up a mighty wave and, cutting through the surge, dragged Poseidon’s chariot from the water and ruthlessly beat him. Gods of the sea accompanying him were terrified and fled in panic.
When Zeus realized the bad situation, he rushed back to Olympus, which was almost torn down by Typhon and his demon army by then, with only Athena barely managing to hold them back.
And Zeus, having lost “Thunderbolt,” “Sky,” and “Thunder,” couldn’t exert his full power and was ultimately defeated by Typhon.
With the situation collapsing, the gods fled Olympus to avoid the brunt of the attack, retreating to their holy lands to build up strength.
After the initial defeat, the injured Zeus grew more cautious and began to use strategy to win.
He summoned Europa’s brother Cadmus and had the herding god Pan bring herds of cattle and sheep. He built a hut for himself and disguised Cadmus as a shepherd boy to trick Typhon into returning the Thunderbolt, promising to give the harmonious goddess Harmonia to him in marriage afterward.
All was in place, and Zeus transformed into a bull, blending in with the cattle. Cadmus sat under a tree and played his pipe. The music lured the Demon Ancestor Typhon out from the cave where he had hidden the “Thunderbolt” to come and appreciate the music. By then, Zeus, now a bull, had sneakily entered the cave and seized back his Origin Artifact.
By the time Typhon realized he had been ensnared, Zeus had already recovered his peak condition with the “Thunderbolt” and regathered the Pantheon of Gods to launch a counterattack.
Eventually, the God King, clad in clouds as armor, wielding lightning as a spear, shielded by thunder, and shooting arrows of thunderbolts, rode the chariot of time from the Celestial Realm straight downward. Queen Hera to his left with a divine bow and Goddess Athena to his right with spear and shield, together with the Pantheon of Gods, completely defeated Typhon and his demon army and threw them into Tartarus Hell to be punished.
