The Greatest Village Doctor In The World-Chapter 153 Mo Jiaolan’s Confession
Zhang Lan looked at him a bit unexpectedly, her gaze filled with inquisitive meaning.
However, Ling Feng didn’t plan to say any more, after all, she was from the Luo Family, and saying more was meaningless.
Seeing that he remained silent, Zhang Lan didn’t ask further and focused on driving the car.
They traveled in silence to the county town, where Ling Feng got out of the car at the hotel entrance and turned to her, saying, "I’m off, thanks for the ride."
"Don’t mention it," Zhang Lan nodded.
Watching his figure enter the hotel, Zhang Lan felt an unusual surge of emotion within her heart.
The aura that Ling Feng exuded was very distinct; she had seen men with strong presences before, but this young man was extraordinary.
It seemed as if there was a strange charm about him that irresistibly drew people to him!
While she was lost in thought, a burst of honking awakened her; her car was parked at the roadside, blocking the exit of the cars beside it.
Zhang Lan shook her head, dispelling the jumbled thoughts from her mind, and left the hotel entrance.
Upon reaching the upstairs office, Ling Feng found only Mo Jiaolan there, so he asked, "Where is everyone else?"
"Yuhe has gone to sign a contract; we’ve bought the building next door," Mo Jiaolan replied, noticing his surprise, then added, "Why are you back?"
"I just felt uneasy. That Luo guy didn’t say anything to you, did he?" Ling Feng asked.
Hearing his question, Mo Jiaolan bit her lip, "No, he just came over for a short chat and then left."
Seeing her unusual expression, Ling Feng couldn’t help but ask, "I’ve never seen him before, and after seeing him today, he does seem quite charismatic, doesn’t he?"
Mo Jiaolan looked up, a flash of bewilderment in her eyes, "What do you mean?"
"Nothing, I just think that he and you seem quite compatible," Ling Feng said indifferently.
He didn’t know why, but just one glance at Luo Qianyang made him feel inferior, as if he couldn’t compare to him in any way.
Hearing him say that, Mo Jiaolan seemed to understand something; she walked over to stand in front of him, looked up into Ling Feng’s eyes and asked, "So you’re planning to give up?"
"No, I was just speaking off the cuff," Ling Feng said with a smile, shaking his head.
Mo Jiaolan sighed softly, then wrapped her arms around his waist and squeezed into his embrace, "You fool, don’t you understand my heart yet?"
Ling Feng’s body trembled, feeling her body pressed tightly against his, and a warm current swept through his heart.
"Sorry, I was being petty," Ling Feng said, holding Mo Jiaolan’s shoulders and giving them a gentle pat.
Mo Jiaolan didn’t say a word, just pressed her face against his shoulder, her long eyelashes trembling slightly.
They held each other for a while before Ling Feng finally spoke up, "Right, you think that Luo guy, seeing your business suddenly taking off, might interfere and cause trouble?"
"I can’t be sure, but it’s possible," Mo Jiaolan said with her eyes closed.
"I should talk to Wang Laogen about this. If he starts playing dirty tricks, neither of us are a match for him!" Ling Feng said.
"I’ll listen to you."
Mo Jiaolan murmured softly, very obediently.
This girl, who was so decisive in front of the hotel staff, now seemed like a gentle lamb, melting Ling Feng’s heart.
Unfortunately, such warmth is always brief, and at this moment, someone suddenly knocked on the door, startling them both.
Mo Jiaolan quickly stepped out of his embrace and then said, "Come in."
The person was a member of the hotel’s staff, coming in to report on the progress of the recruitment. Seeing this, Ling Feng knew it was not appropriate to interrupt, so he sat on the sofa for a while.
Following that, people continuously came in to report on their work, and Mo Jiaolan didn’t seem to get a moment of rest.
Ling Feng felt that his presence was only distracting her, so he waited for a lull to say, "You’re busy, I’ll head back first. Call me if you need anything."
"Sure, after I’m done," Mo Jiaolan said, glancing at him apologetically.
After going downstairs, Ling Feng took out his phone and called Wang Laogen, telling him about Luo Qianyang’s situation.
"Don’t think too far ahead; the Luo Family has no reason to get directly involved in the hotel business. If they want to play dirty, they wouldn’t make a move so quickly. You can relax with me keeping an eye out," Wang Laogen said.
Ling Feng nodded, "Then I’ll have to trouble you. Anyway, I must help Jiaolan achieve her promised goals in these two months!"
"No problem!"
After hanging up the phone, a stone in Ling Feng’s heart finally seemed to drop a little.
He didn’t rush back to the village but instead wandered the streets aimlessly with his hands in his pockets.
Lost in thought, Ling Feng didn’t realize how far he had walked until he passed by an underground parking garage of a large building and someone ran out in a hurry, bumping into him before he looked up.
The person was in a rush, not even uttering a word after the collision, and quickly walked away hurriedly.
Ling Feng couldn’t be bothered to make a fuss and glared at the person’s retreating figure before turning around to leave.
At that moment, a woman’s shout came from the underground passageway, "Help! I’ve been robbed!"
Upon hearing that voice, Ling Feng snapped to attention. Wasn’t that Zhang Lan?
He immediately ran toward the shout and, after turning a corner, saw her running out in a panic.
Zhang Lan was startled to see Ling Feng, then like grabbing onto a lifeline, she rushed forward and grabbed his arm, "Quick, someone took my bag, it has very important documents in it!"
"Don’t worry, wait here at the entrance, I’ll go chase them!"
Ling Feng quickly figured it out and turned to run back outside.
Once outside, the person who had bumped into him had vanished, but Ling Feng knew the direction they had fled in and sped up his chase.
There was no sign of the person on the straight street; he must have ducked into an alley, so Ling Feng kept up his pursuit while scanning the side alleys he passed.
When he reached the third alley, he stopped in his tracks.
The figure of the person briefly flashed by, but Ling Feng caught a glimpse.
He quickly charged into the alley and after rushing forward a few dozen meters, finally caught sight of the person again.
"Stop right there!"
Ling Feng bellowed and immediately dashed forward! 𝒇𝓻𝓮𝓮𝙬𝙚𝒃𝒏𝓸𝙫𝒆𝙡.𝓬𝓸𝒎
The person thought they were in the clear, walking leisurely, but upon hearing the shout, they got spooked and started running!
Unfortunately for them, no matter how fast they ran, they couldn’t outpace the superhumanly fit Ling Feng, who caught up to them in just a few strides!
Ling Feng reached out to grab the collar of the person’s shirt, but the thief seemed to sense it and ducked to avoid his hand, then turned around with a vicious look, "Mind your own business, are you looking for trouble?"
"Enough talk! Hand over the bag you’re holding!" Ling Feng ordered.
Seeing he couldn’t intimidate Ling Feng, the person reached to their waist and pulled out a dagger, "You’re asking for it!"
As he said it, he lashed out with the dagger attempting to stab!
Ling Feng’s eyes narrowed. Stealing was bad enough, but now they wanted to hurt someone?
Dodging to the side, he kicked toward the thief’s wrist and heard a crack; the thief’s arm broke instantly!
"Ahh!"
A scream echoed, but Ling Feng still felt unsatisfied and kicked the thief’s chest hard!
The person’s body flew backward, hitting the alley wall and then bouncing back, after which they lay sprawled on the ground, unable to get up.
"That’s all you’ve got, and you dare to harm others?"
Ling Feng huffed coldly and picked up the bag from the ground.
