Chapter 225: Chapter 225: Yvette Aston and Caden Summers Are Not Related by Blood

After a moment of silence, Arthur Grant thought he had misheard. "Who?"

"The Sterlings... Harrison Sterling," the assistant quickly replied.

Arthur’s expression changed instantly. He gestured for the lawyer to leave and gave Ethan a warning glance.

This son wasn’t completely useless after all.

The Sterlings were undeniably more valuable than the Bells.

Back then, Arthur had tried every possible way to discuss an arranged marriage with The Sterling Matriarch, but unfortunately, the real Sterling daughter had yet to be found.

Arthur even had people investigate, wanting to help the Sterlings find the child and earn their favor.

Unfortunately, they searched for years but found nothing.

This time, the Sterlings came in person to discuss an alliance?

...

The proposal for an alliance with the Sterlings shocked the entire board of directors—that was the Sterling Family.

Even though the Grant Group was steadily developing under Ethan’s leadership, who wouldn’t want the Grant Group to reach new heights?

The Sterlings were clearly the best choice.

The Grant Family had only two sons; Jayden was already allied with The Aston Family, leaving only Ethan.

Although Ethan had announced a relationship, it didn’t stop him from breaking up and allying with the Sterlings afterward.

"Ethan, don’t be angry with your father. You have a boundless future ahead of you."

"Exactly, exactly." The people began flattering again.

Ethan sat in the chair, his body stiffening, but his face visibly darkened.

Suddenly, he stood up and left the conference room.

"Mr. Grant?" Christopher Carter thought it was all prearranged by Ethan, excitedly smiling at him. "You arranged everything but didn’t give me a heads-up. I was sweating over here."

"Get out." Ethan’s voice was low.

Is this what Yvette said... don’t worry?

Would she help him?

Was this Yvette’s surprise for him?

Was it a surprise or jealousy? She actually approached Harrison Sterling!

"Mr. Grant, where are you going? The Sterling Family’s people are here. Aren’t you going to meet them?" Christopher Carter was confused.

"Meet them for what." Ethan’s face was cold as he adjusted his tie and entered the elevator, leaving Christopher outside.

He only wanted to see Yvette now.

Ethan understood Harrison Sterling well; he wouldn’t easily agree to Yvette’s request unless she had promised him something.

...

Conference room.

Melody Crowe staggered into a chair, waiting until everyone from the board left, then slammed the table in frustration. "The Sterlings, they came out of nowhere!"

Just when they were about to succeed, the Sterlings showed up.

"Mom..." Jayden wanted to say something.

"Shut up! It’s all your fault, insisting on marrying that sickly woman. If you hadn’t married her, the Sterlings would be looking for you right now for an alliance!" Melody was anxious, pacing back and forth. "No way, we can’t let Ethan be with the Sterling heiress. If that happens, we’ll be thoroughly defeated... Unable to topple him."

"Mom, what’s the hurry? The Sterling heiress has been missing for so many years, and still hasn’t been found. Who knows the situation, or if she’s even married." Jayden was dismissive. "I think the Sterlings might want that adopted daughter Paige Fulton to marry Ethan."

"What about Paige? Though she’s adopted, she’s well-liked by Harrison. Who cares if she’s adopted? It’s the interests behind her that matter!" Melody gave Jayden a look of disappointment.

"But wouldn’t the real Sterling heiress be more suitable than Paige?" Jayden huffed.

Melody suddenly paused, smiling. "You’re right..."

"If we find the real Sterling heiress before Ethan and the Sterlings, The Sterling Matriarch would owe us a favor. By then..." Melody slammed the table. "Jayden, I think Charlotte Summers doesn’t deserve you at all; it’s time we figure out how to break the engagement with The Aston Family."

"Mom! What are you saying?" Jayden looked at Melody in shock. "You were the one who wanted me to get engaged to The Aston Family’s real heiress in the first place! Now you want me to break it off."

"Are you silly? Is The Aston Family more important, or the Sterlings? Don’t you see?" Melody glared at Jayden angrily. "You’re my son, so you have to listen to me! This matter is settled by me!"

Melody slammed the table and left on her high heels.

She needed to find the real Sterling heiress quickly.

...

Chairman’s office.

Harrison Sterling had left, and their conversation was so pleasant that Arthur Grant had a fatherly smile when he bid farewell. "If only Ethan were half as sensible as you, I’d be relieved."

"You’re joking, sir. I admire Ethan, which is why I want to marry my sister to him."

"Good, good, then it’s settled. We’ll work together for a year and try to find my niece as soon as possible." Arthur nodded. "Pass my regards to your mother and assure her."

Once the elevator door closed behind Harrison, Arthur’s expression shifted instantly. "Where’s Ethan?"

"Mr. Grant... earlier, earlier he left, no one could stop him," the assistant whispered.

Arthur snorted but still felt pretty good as he walked into his office.

Naturally, Arthur valued the Sterlings more than the Bells, but he’d also have to find a way to placate the Bells.

After all, they still held some dirt on him. 𝗳𝗿𝐞𝕖𝘄𝗲𝕓𝗻𝚘𝚟𝕖𝐥.𝚌𝕠𝕞

"Tell Ethan he’s been too restless lately; give him a month’s vacation to adjust his attitude and state!"

Arthur symbolically gave Ethan a punishment.

...

On the way home, Ethan called Yvette.

"Hello?" Yvette’s voice sounded a bit tense.

"Where are you?" Ethan’s voice was deep and firm.

"I... I’m at the kindergarten, picking up Summers and Baron from school," Yvette replied, not daring to lie.

"Wait for me there." Ethan hung up immediately.

Kindergarten entrance.

Yvette’s fingers trembled with fear, realizing Ethan was angry.

Harrison should have already been to Grant Group; Christopher Carter texted saying the crisis had been resolved.

Yvette breathed a sigh of relief and stood waiting for Ethan.

Why was he upset? Was he mad at her for making decisions on her own?

"Huh, why are you here, Caden?"

Just over ten minutes later, Caden arrived first.

"Ethan asked me to come. He said there are important matters to discuss with you tonight, so he sent me to pick up the kids." Caden turned away, covering his forehead, really giving off the vibe of escaping alive. "If you’re too busy, just let me pick up the kids. I don’t mind it."

"..." Yvette laughed out loud. "Caden, why are your ears red?"

Caden turned his gaze away and lightly cleared his throat. "Don’t talk nonsense."

"Caden, there’s lipstick on your face and a hickey on your neck..." Yvette said honestly.

Caden’s face turned beet red, his voice stammering. "Don’t, don’t talk nonsense... mosquito bites."

Yvette had a knowing look. "These mosquitos are really strong, surviving even in winter."

Caden covered his forehead. "Ethan’s here, let’s go quickly."

Yvette waved to Caden with a smile but was still a bit anxious inside.

What if... it really was as Ethan mentioned, about Michelle and Caden... how far would they go?

"Caden, be happy." Yvette waved to Caden and ran off.

Life is short, after all; being happy is the most important.

...

In the car, Ethan received a file from Zane Quinn.

He opened it and his face darkened immediately.

There was no familial connection between Yvette and Caden.

This meant Caden and Yvette were not biological siblings.

As expected... May Larson was lying.
