The Grants: Choosing One Between The Two-Chapter 187: Ethan Grant Takes Yvette Aston on Vacation
Ethan seemed to have anticipated Arthur Grant’s move, leaning casually back in his chair. "I’ve indeed been quite tired recently, it’s rare for my dad to be so considerate and give me a vacation. Poor Jayden though."
Ethan smiled faintly and signed the resignation request Christopher Carter handed over.
"However, someone who’s already resigned doesn’t have my signing authority. Trying to rejoin..." Ethan was clearly in for a standoff with Arthur Grant and Melody Crowe.
Melody Crowe understood as well that after undergoing multiple reviews, anyone looking to rejoin after Ethan signed their resignation would have to go through the HR department again.
With Ethan so confident, there was no way he would let Eric Larson return.
Even if he did return, it wouldn’t be to his current position.
"Ethan, you should go home and rest well. Even without you, I can handle things just fine," Jayden Grant seemed very confident.
Ethan raised an eyebrow, stood up, and adjusted his watch. "I’m off."
Yvette Aston and Christopher Carter exchanged a glance, nervously following behind Ethan. "Mr. Grant..."
"Cancel all my appointments except for the Oceanic United wedding," Ethan said as he looked at Yvette again. "Notify the partners that I’m ill."
Yvette took a deep breath. "Mr. Grant... you’re giving Jayden a chance, what if..."
"He’ll need to have that capability first." Ethan sneered.
"Christopher, stay and handle the follow-up. Yvette and I are going on leave." Stepping into the elevator, Ethan appeared relaxed and somewhat smug.
Christopher looked bewildered. "Why does Yvette get to go on vacation too?"
"As my lifestyle assistant, of course, she handles my lifestyle. You’ve got plenty on your plate, good luck." Ethan blocked Christopher from entering the elevator and directly shut the doors.
Yvette looked a bit panicked and nervously asked Ethan, "Mr. Grant, are you sure this is okay?"
"I’ve got everything arranged." Ethan checked the time. "From now on, don’t worry about anything and just enjoy the vacation with me."
"Huh?" Yvette felt flustered. "The Oceanic United wedding is in Sarindo..."
"We’re leaving early, I’ll take you out to have some fun." Ethan had already planned the itinerary.
Yvette, still confused, followed Ethan out of the elevator.
It seemed less like Melody Crowe manipulated Ethan, and more like Ethan was scheming against Melody and Jayden.
"Mr. Grant... did you guess ahead of time that Mr. Arthur would make you take a vacation?" Yvette asked cautiously.
Ethan was in a good mood; getting rid of the big trouble named Eric Larson while also getting a vacation to take Yvette out was a bonus.
"It’s a warning from him that if I don’t play along, I’ll be on indefinite leave." Ethan understood Arthur Grant’s implications.
Yet this played right into Ethan’s hands.
"But..." Yvette hesitated. "Can Christopher handle everything alone?"
Ethan frowned slightly, pinning Yvette against the car door. "You’re my lifestyle assistant, why worry about him?"
"I... I’m just afraid that Jayden might take this opportunity to collude with the partners..." Yvette was worried Jayden would steal everything from Ethan, striking while the iron was hot.
"Firstly, he needs to have the skills for that." Ethan opened the car door for Yvette, practically shoving her inside, then leaned over to buckle her seatbelt. "Secondly, you don’t seem to trust your man very much."
"..." Yvette clutched the seatbelt nervously, at a loss for words.
"What’s mine, no one can take away..." Ethan propped one hand on the seat and said with a smile. "Things that can be taken, I don’t care for."
Yvette’s gaze lingered on Ethan, momentarily unable to look away.
"Go home and pack, we’re flying out today." Ethan got into the car and drove straight home.
Yvette realized Ethan was eager to leave quickly, knowing if they waited any longer, Arthur Grant might summon him back with all sorts of reasons.
"To, today?" Yvette was shocked. "Summers..."
"Don’t worry, I’ve arranged everything for Summers." Ethan smiled slyly, like a clever fox.
Yvette took a deep breath, understanding everything now.
Ethan had arranged for everything several days ago.
Only now did she feel truly at ease.
If Yvette guessed correctly, within three days, the upper management and board at Grant Group would be in chaos.
Ethan must have left Jayden with many tricky and error-prone issues. Once Jayden makes a mistake, Arthur will realize that the Grant Group cannot function without Ethan for now.
Indeed, Ethan didn’t get to where he is today without being formidable.
Yvette’s previous worries were for nothing; she was even sweating for him just a moment ago.
...
Resort area.
After over seven hours, Yvette arrived at the resort hotel from Meridia.
Throughout the journey, Arthur Grant made several calls to Ethan, but Ethan had turned off his phone upon boarding the plane and only turned it back on after landing.
"Mr. Grant... I’ll handle the check-in, you can sit and rest for a while." Yvette placed the suitcase aside and prepared to handle the check-in.
Ethan pulled Yvette into his embrace. "This is a vacation."
Feeling guilty, Yvette replied with a simple ’oh’, realizing that no one knew her here anyway.
This feeling was great.
The hotel staff spoke fluent English with Yvette, and she replied smoothly with a natural smile.
Ethan watched Yvette, realizing this was her true self, like a blooming flower.
She once was Meridia’s first...
Recalling Yvette’s past achievements filled Ethan with a sense of awe.
"Yvette, when we return to Meridia, let’s appeal," Ethan said, holding Yvette’s hand as they entered the room.
Yvette was stunned, momentarily not understanding.
Ethan looked seriously at Yvette. "I have evidence to prove your innocence and evidence that someone intentionally kept you imprisoned for five years. Let’s appeal. I’ve already discussed it with our lawyer. Although it may take time, our chances of winning are high. Once we obtain the acquittal, we’ll appeal to the Education Bureau, complete your remaining studies, and whether you want to pursue further studies or go abroad, I’ll support you..."
Yvette stared blankly at Ethan, unable to utter a single word for a while.
No matter Ethan’s initial intentions, reaching this point... she couldn’t help but be moved.
With her eyes turning slightly red, Yvette sniffed, stood on tiptoe, and kissed Ethan proactively.
Ethan’s body stiffened momentarily, but he placed a hand on the back of Yvette’s head, taking charge.
Yvette, for once proactive, earnestly responded to Ethan.
Holly Ziegler was about to head to Meridia, feeling almost fully recovered. She regularly shared various adult techniques with Yvette, teaching her how to seduce a man in bed.
Recalling Holly’s tips made Yvette’s ears flush bright red.
Could such things even be said?
So, embarrassing.
"Cold..." Yvette leaned against the wall, retreating into Ethan’s arms due to the chill of the tiles.
Ethan seemed to do it on purpose, trapping her right in front.
Yvette had no choice but to wrap her arms around his neck and cling to him.
"Ethan..." Yvette actively kissed Ethan’s ear.
This was Holly’s teaching...
She said a man’s ear conch was very sensitive.
"Hmm?" Sure enough, Ethan’s voice turned raspy.
"Thank you." Yvette’s hot breath teased Ethan’s ear.
Ethan took a deep breath. "Don’t beg for mercy later, crying won’t help."
