In the eleven years that have elapsed since he advanced to rank 3, his Dao Heart has increased from 10% of rank 5 to 90% of rank 5. In comparison, he took less than 3 years going from rank 3 to rank 4. This shows just how wide the gap between rank 5 and rank 6 is.

11 years seem like a long time to achieve this much progress, but it is actually a very short amount of time for most cultivators, and his speed will be considered fast. This is because many people fail to reach rank 6 Dao Heart in their lifetime.

He can achieve this kind of speed because of the way the Sky-raising Doa Heart refining technique works. This refining technique passively refines the Dao Heart based on how many life experiences the person has.

So, the more life experience a person has, the faster their Dao Heart will be refined. Since he has the memories of his past life, he has a wealth of life experiences that are far more than people his age should have, which is why the speed of refining his Dao Heart is so fast.

Of course, the speed of refinement can become faster if he actively uses the refinement technique to refine his Dao Heart. But he hasn’t had the time to do so all of these years because of the need to fuse his energy thread.

The time for him to do the more important thing that he had on his mind came when he received a notification from the sect saying, "Congratulations, you have been appointed as the captain of post 421 on Earthly Battlefield E6-137 by Commander Amelia. This is a grade 4 mission. Do you accept?"

He accepted the mission immediately. So multiple notifications came from the sect informing him of what he had gained access to.

Amelia also sent a message, saying, "All is set. We are just waiting for you now. Take down the city opposite your new post, and we will follow you."

He replied, saying, "Understood. I am on my way. I’ll tell you when I arrive."

Then his figure streaked through the air as he rushed towards the destination.

Loki wanted to catch one last look at Greg and maybe grab the airship, but Greg was gone by the time he arrived at post 421. This made him say to Amelia, "What did you do with Greg?"

She replied, saying, "I discharged him."

This surprised Loki, so he said, "Here I thought you would kill him. I guess everyone was wrong when they said that you hated him to the bone."

She replied with a laugh and said, "I do hate him. But he is worth more alive to me."

"Don’t worry. I will tell you what I have planned for him later."

Loki shrugged and said, "Whatever. I have reached my post now and will start the attack."

She said, "Good. Keep me updated so that we can coordinate with you."

He read this message before saying, "Understood."

Then he moved on with what he came here for.

He didn’t really care what she was going to do with Greg. He just found the thought of her killing him for all of the troubles he has caused interesting. What he truly cared about was the airship.

But now that she wasn’t going to kill him and there was no airship for him to take, he decided to accomplish the next goal on his agenda, which was to gain enough grade 4 merit points to buy the Level 4 Dao Status.

So he came down from the sky and began preparing his people for the attack. Fortunately, Amelia had prepared transportation in the form of an airship for them.

This airship didn’t have powerful guns and wasn’t armored, so it wasn’t a battleship. It was just a troop transporter, but it was better than nothing.

When the airship arrived above the airspace of the enemy city, the enemies saw it and activated the siren alarm to signify an attack. The defenders of the city also began to prepare for the attack.

A blue energy shield quickly covered the city. It sealed the area around the city completely and made it so that no one could enter the city.

If everything goes well for the defenders, the energy shield will hold long enough for reinforcement to arrive. When combined with the fact that there was a rank 4 warrior protecting the city, it became unlikely for the city to fall anytime soon.
