THE GOD EATER-Chapter 242: Crystal Ball.

After the divine being left, the golden animals and the clouds that had been revolving around her dispersed. Everyone immediately felt a great sense of loss.

It was after she was gone that Loki realized that he had been through the world barrier of the South Domain. Apparently, she had been in the air above the South Domain, but he could see her through the world barrier.

This compounded the awe he felt for her achievement. His eyes became full of yearning as he said, "To become divine is to transcend mortal restraints. What a glorious existence. I want it so bad."

He was not alone in this. Everyone else was full of yearning. They wanted to replace her and be the one to ascend.

Unfortunately, most of them had to shake their heads in pity as they gave up on their unrealistic thoughts a few seconds after their heart became full of yearning.

The sight of a mortal ascending gave them a sugar rush that made them want to push them to achieve the same thing. But this sugar rush didn’t last long because they didn’t have anything to sustain it.

They didn’t have any viable way to achieve ascension, so their sugar rush came crashing down. They had to admit that they were mediocre and destined for mediocrity. After coming back to reality, they returned to doing whatever it was that they were doing before they caught a glimpse of greatness.

But Loki was not like these people. He had a good chance of advancing to rank 6, so he didn’t experience the crashing of the sugar rush.

He believed that he had a viable plan to become a divine being, and he believed that it was only a matter of time for him to achieve it, so he didn’t give up as they did. He still went back to doing what he was doing before, but he did it with more enthusiasm and determination than usual.

He went back into his room, shut the door, and sat down to focus. Then he closed his eyes and concentrated on fusing his energy threads.

Thanks to the Quadruple Mind Metac, he is already halfway to the finish line. This further encouraged him to focus.

The celebration of the world for the ascension of a new divine being in the Sword Way Sect of the South Domain had a lot of impact on the world and the people in the world for a while. But most of the impact mellowed out after a few days since the event.

As it turned out, they were right to be afraid. Greg truly became worse after he advanced to rank 4. He created more trouble everywhere, but because he also used his newfound power to beat the warriors of the Martial Body Sect, Amelia allowed him to continue to strut about like a peacock.

Fortunately, none of these changes affected Loki. The area he was staying was peaceful, so he was able to remain couped up, fusing his energy threads.

This peace wasn’t broken until 4 years later, after the ascension of Monarch Winter Sword. This was 9 years since his awakening in this timeline.

In his room, Loki suddenly opened his eyes and smiled as he said, "Finally, it is done."

As the final energy thread was fused together, he felt a pulse resonate throughout his entire existence. The pulse was a wave in his internal energy, but it felt as if it were from a heartbeat in his brain.

As what he had labored on for so many years came to life, a crystal suddenly appeared where his brain stem used to be. This crystal was clear as day to him, and it was beautiful.

Energy from his energy well was pumped through 450 energy threads into this crystal to solidify it. So the crystal rapidly expanded and hardened.

When the expansion and hardening were done, all that was left was a round ball with a crystalline surface that possessed exactly 450 faces.

What’s most interesting is that there were phantom copies of all of the Metacs in his energy well in the crystalline ball. This made the crystalline ball possess an exact copy of the content of his energy well, including Fenrir and his Life Ability.

The sight of this wonder in his mind made him say in awe, "So this is the Energy Nexus. It is magnificent."

As he felt the enhancement that the energy nexus had bestowed onto him, he said, "No. This shouldn’t be called an Energy Nexus. It should be called a Power Core."

To prove his point, he stood up and activated his Life Ability. This caused a black metallic liquid to stream out of his energy well and cover his whole body.

After a while, the black metallic liquid hardened into a black, tight-fitting suit of armor. With his armor ready, he punched forward with all of his might.

His attack was purely physical. But since it involved a Metac and his energy well, the newly created Energy Nexus was also mobilized into action.

The Energy Nexus pulsed like a heart, but instead of pushing energy out of it through the energy threads, it pulled energy into it and consumed it.

The energy that was consumed was consumed by the copy of the Shifting Amory Life Ability. This phantom copy also created a power output like the real Shifting Armor Life Ability.

The power output was sent out of the crystalline Energy Nexus as a form of agitation of energy. So, this agitation of energy was what was pushed out of the Energy Nexus, not energy.
