Chapter 138: Earthly Battlefield.

The sight of the large burning rock flying towards them caused Loki’s eyes to widen. Then he began to panic.

He even took a step back in fear. Unfortunately, there was nowhere to escape to on the flying ship in the air.

He didn’t want to jump from the flying ship as they were thousands of meters in the air. So he looked around to see what they were going to do about this problem.

He saw that he wasn’t the only one who was panicking. Everyone else on the deck was panicking. So he decided to check some stock options and gambling bets on the sect token so that he could use the information to his advantage in the next timeline if he died now. 𝑓𝘳𝑒𝑒𝓌𝘦𝘣𝘯ℴ𝑣𝘦𝑙.𝘤𝑜𝑚

Fortunately, the captain of the airship noticed the big burning problem rapidly approaching them. So he veered away from their path and put some distance between them and the ball of fire as soon as possible.

After they were at a safe distance, Loki could finally return to admiring the sight. He saw the large ball of fire fly past where they were and smash into the base of the wall of grey mist.

The collision of the large ball of fire and the wall of grey mist was silent, so he didn’t get to see the explosion he was waiting for. All that happened was that the grey mist parted like a cloud as the large ball of fire punched through it from one side to the other side.

This made his eyes light up as he said to himself, "So that’s how a tunnel is created. That must be a small world. I guess it will quickly become an Earthly Battlefield."

With the exciting sight over, the flying ship continued its journey to one of the tunnels. A hangar had been constructed for flying ships, so the ship had somewhere to land and be anchored.

With the ship secured, its occupants began to disembark. The workers, like the people he paid for information, quickly got to work bringing down the cargo. But soldiers like Loki only disembarked with their load and went looking for their stations.

Loki quickly went back to his small, cramped room to pack his things and take back the black blob.

The loss of the black blob doesn’t mean that he would lose his Life Ability, as he can regenerate the black blob with his internal energy. But losing the black blob means that every strength it has gained in the meantime by eating metals will be lost.

However, by taking the black blob and letting Fenrir absorb it, he can ensure that even if he loses it in the future, the strength that it gained during the more than 60 hours of eating won’t go to waste. And since Fenrir has the Rewind Metac, even if he reverses time, that power in his Life Ability will stay with him.

So after taking back the black blob, he was able relax. Then he packed everything he had in a large box with wheels.

With his preparation done, he decided to leave the ship and report for duty. This is something he decided to do quickly because he was curious to see what the Earthly Battlefield would be like.

After he got down from the ship, he looked around curiously and let the sights dazzle his eyes. From what he could see, he didn’t see any signs of a war at all.

This made him say, "The fight is on the other side of the world barrier anyway. And most of the fighting is done in the small world, so it is no wonder that this city looks so tranquil."

The hangar is high up in the sky, but there is a path that leads down to the city below. From his position so high up, he can see the layout of the city. He can see that there is one large main road that leads from the base of the hangar to the world barrier.

The main road is a wide structure built to accommodate four airships moving side by side. As large as this was, it was still small compared to the large tunnel that had been punched through the wall of grey mist.

As for the rest of the city, it was built along the main road. There are many roads that link away from the main road into streets where houses are built next to. From his position, the layout of the city looks like the skeleton of a fish because of the branching roads leading away from the main road.

His vantage point also allowed him to see that there were other hangars and cities in the distance. Each of them was connected to a tunnel or to a massive object that resembled a mountain.

From what he was told on the airship, he was able to deduce that the massive mountains are small worlds. He was also able to come to the conclusion that the reason he can see them without going to the other side of the world barrier is that they belong to the Martial Body Sect and are being used to steal the souls of the Central Domain.

So there was an array of hangars, cities, tunnels, and mountains as far as he could see. But as beautiful and intriguing as this sight was, he didn’t stop to gawk at it. His steps were still in a hurry to descend the path to his destination.

After he got to the bottom, he asked for directions to the sect grounds. The person he asked pointed him to a compound that was just a few steps away. So he would have found the compound if he had taken a few more steps.

Nonetheless, he thanked the woman. Then he dragged his box of materials and metals along with him towards the sect grounds.

As soon as he entered the sect grounds, he noticed that the layout of the place was identical to that of Crystal City. Even the buildings were identical.

This made him whistle and say, "Someone high up must have some pretty serious ocd. Wouldn’t want to be them."
