The Favored Heiress-Chapter 131: Qin Si Saved Everyone
Chapter 131: Chapter 131: Qin Si Saved Everyone
"It’s uncommon to see chromosome mutations in adults unless there are special reasons, but her situation is indeed worth studying," Academician Jiang muttered to himself.
Li Qiao didn’t hesitate and suggested directly, "If it’s convenient for you, teacher, how about I bring her over for you to take a look another day?"
"Alright, this kind of disease is quite rare. I’m at the lab recently anyway, you can bring her over anytime; we can also do a genetic test for her while we’re at it."
...
After saying goodbye to Academician Jiang, Li Qiao left the laboratory.
It was already four-thirty in the afternoon, and a light rain had started to fall from the sky.
Li Qiao walked out of the research building and immediately saw Luoyu standing on the steps waiting for her with a black silk umbrella in hand.
"I’ve kept you waiting."
Li Qiao approached with courtesy and spoke, while Luoyu, expressionless, said, "It’s just my duty. Are you finished? The boss called earlier, saying your foot... it’s time to change the dressing."
"Yes, let’s go."
Li Qiao knew that she definitely wouldn’t be able to return home today; even Shang Zonghai had called Li Guangming. If she stubbornly went home rashly, it would seem extremely impolite.
Whilst others may not matter so much, she didn’t want to be abrupt with the Shang father and son.
Even though the whole matter seemed ridiculously overblown.
Luoyu held the umbrella for Li Qiao and opened the car door. The two of them got into the car and returned to the South Sea Mansion.
It was almost six o’clock in the evening when the car finally entered the Mansion’s platform. The mountain road was muddy and slippery due to the rain; for safety’s sake, Luoyu drove very slowly.
Once in the living room, Li Qiao patted the dampness on her coat and looked up to see Shang Yu in the living room, holding a green bottle in his hand and reading the instruction manual with a cigarette between his fingers.
"Finished with the meeting?" Shang Yu put down the instruction manual on the medicine box and lifted his eyelids to look at her.
Li Qiao walked towards him and nodded her head, staring at the medicine bottle in his hand as she sat down, "What is that?"
Shang Yu handed it to her as he bent to extinguish his cigarette, "External Injury Medicine."
So they really were treating her like a patient?
Li Qiao took the green, gourd-shaped bottle with a half-smile, looked at it and asked, "Which dispensary produced this? It seems I haven’t seen it on the market."
The green, gourd-shaped medicine bottle was made of a special material, not like common external injury medicine.
"Shang Pharmaceutical," Shang Yu replied with a slight lift of his thin lips, tilting his head slightly as he looked at Li Qiao with a low voice, "It’s in the experimental phase, not yet in production."
As the two were talking, footsteps came from the direction of the elevator.
Shang Zonghai and his confidant appeared, but their expressions were tense and solemn.
Shang Yu narrowed his eyes and looked toward Shang Zonghai’s confidant, casually raising his eyebrows, waiting for the man to speak.
The confidant let out a heavy sigh, his eyes full of worry, "Master Yan, we’ve just received news that there’s been an accident in Parma."
"Speak!" Shang Yu’s demeanor suddenly shifted, though he still looked languid, the edges of his eyebrows and eyes filled with sharpness, and even his gaze became piercingly wild.
The confidant glanced at Shang Zonghai, who had sat down, then walked up to Shang Yu and said with difficulty, "It was the second master. This afternoon, he was at a party on a yacht with a few young masters from the Huo Family and the Lu Family. But for some unknown reason, there was an explosion on the yacht, and now everyone’s fate is uncertain."
An explosion on a yacht?
Li Qiao’s eyes widened abruptly, her pupils contracting.
They were far away in the South Sea, while Shang Lu was in trouble in Parma. Even if they headed back now, it would be at least a four-hour flight away; they couldn’t make it in time.
At that moment, Shang Zonghai was staring out the window with a sharp gaze, gripping the Buddha Beads tightly in his hand, his tone filled with murderous intent, "Dare to harm my son, I want them all buried with him."
Shang Yu also was full of killing intent, his gaze covered with a dark sharpness.
Suddenly, the ringing of a phone broke the tense atmosphere.
The confidant quickly took out his mobile phone to answer; it was a call from Parma.
However, in less than half a minute, his expression shifted from solemn to surprised, then to ecstatic as he addressed Shang Yu and Shang Zonghai, "Gentlemen, the second master is fine, unharmed. It’s said that a man named Qin Si saved all of them."
