The Fake Heiress Turns Out to Be a True Tycoon!-Chapter 1176: A Glimpse of the Otherworld Heavens’ True Form
Scarlett Jennings and her group explored along the boundary of the domain. Although trapped in the domain, Scarlett still had some control over it. To reduce the search area, she directly shrank the domain and divided them into three groups to explore in three directions.
Soon, Jasmine Hamilton and Stella Gibson discovered something unusual.
Scarlett and Greta almost instantly appeared at Jasmine and Stella’s location.
They saw a mist barrier at the edge of the domain. Logically, the Ten-tailed Realm shouldn’t have a boundary, because beyond the barrier was often a repetitive domain.
But the mist barrier before them made Scarlett and her companions feel an oppressive aura distinct from that of the Ten-tailed Realm as they approached.
Shellback had been eager to regain face and was the first to rush forward, "I’ll scout the path."
However, just as the Crocodile Tortoise charged two meters ahead, Scarlett pulled it back by its tail, "Stay put."
Its shell had just been sliced into pieces, yet it dared to be so reckless.
Scarlett threw the Crocodile Tortoise into Jasmine’s arms, then took a step forward, without rashly entering the mist barrier, and let a fox tail appear behind her. As the snow-colored tail swayed, a spiritual wind arose within the domain.
Stella’s group didn’t feel the wind, but the mist barrier before them was indeed dispersed by more than half.
Seeing this, Shellback restlessly escaped Jasmine’s arms, leaping forward with Black Mist, intending to suck away the remaining mist barrier.
This was something it was adept at.
As the remaining mist quickly vanished, Shellback seemed to have inhaled something unpleasant and suddenly yowled, turning to start vomiting.
The group saw the Crocodile Tortoise open its mouth to yowl and cough out some gray mist, as if trying to expel the mist it had just inhaled.
Stella couldn’t help but laugh at it, "You dared to suck in anything, and now you’ve taken in something bad, haven’t you?"
Shellback yowled several more times, struggling to cough out the last bit of gray mist, and then cursed with a bitter expression, "This mist tastes terrible, never experienced anything so bad before..."
It’s less about taste and more like something unpleasantly unbearable after swallowing.
Even worse than the Black Mist created by the Ghost Fog with malice.
Listening to Shellback, Scarlett turned her gaze to the barrier faintly revealed where the mist had been.
It looked like a crack, beyond which was a blackness.
Yet it seemed she was the only one who could see this blackness?
Scarlett tentatively reached out her hand, thinking that since the Otherworld Heavens had gone to great lengths to trap her in the domain, this connecting spot must surely be "locked," but unexpectedly, upon touching the barrier.
The black barrier simply pulled her into that deep, dark realm.
Seeing this, Shellback, despite the recent unpleasant taste, immediately bit onto Scarlett’s coat, following her through the barrier.
Jasmine and Stella’s group followed closely, but the moment they entered, they nearly retreated in discomfort.
Just as Ashton Todd had described before.
It was an extreme and dense blackness, wherein even the air seemed to turn into viscous black.
The group subconsciously recalled Scarlett’s domain, previously polluted when Shu’e’s source was released from the Otherworld Heavens.
Yet now, the space they occupied was even more severely polluted than the domain tainted by Shu’e.
When the group was almost unable to withstand it, suddenly a streak of golden light appeared ahead.
The next second, the Golden Light transformed into a barrier, enclosing them.
It was Scarlett.
Scarlett barely managed to open up a light within this darkness with the Golden Light Barrier, but looking back, the part originally connected with her domain had merged into the darkness once they entered.
Returning now might make it impossible to find the previous entrance.
Luckily, Scarlett and her companions didn’t plan to go back.
The group, under the protection of the Golden Light Barrier, traveled through the viscous darkness. Shellback, unable even to fly, clung weakly to Scarlett’s back, the entire tortoise looking dispirited,
"It’s this taste... The mist I ingested earlier bore this taste, intensified here a hundredfold..."
It was hard enough for it to accept the slight mist contaminating the area adjacent to the domain it had inhaled earlier, let alone now being within it.
Stella couldn’t help but criticize, "Wasn’t it said that Shu’e’s malice was stripped and taken away? Why is the Otherworld Heavens’ domain still polluted like this..."
This has turned into a corrupted domain.
Solidly so.
Since owning her domain, Scarlett had often studied domain-related matters, knowing that each domain’s initial form reflects its owner’s heart and power form.
Her domain, aside from the Ten-tailed Power, also included Samuel Chalmers’s Dragon Vein power, so it reflected more of mountains and rivers.
But why was the Otherworld Heavens’ domain like this?
While pondering, Scarlett heard behind her, Shellback weakly said,
"This isn’t polluted by Shu’e’s malice."
The Black Mist it originally absorbed was derived from Shu’e’s malice, yet absorbing more never caused such discomfort.
So it’s certain, this area wasn’t polluted by Shu’e’s malice.
Stella, puzzled by this, asked,
"If it’s not malice pollution, then why? Could the Otherworld Heavens’ domain inherently be this dark?"
Just as she finished speaking, Scarlett, at the forefront, suddenly halted. Following her gaze, the group saw a faint light emerging in the darkness ahead.
Everyone immediately thought of an exit.
Eyes lighting up.
Quickly moving towards the faint glow, seemingly peeling away layers of darkness, and using the Golden Light, Scarlett finally saw the source of the gold light appearing in front of them.
A somewhat dim Golden Light, encasing a sapling, floating quietly in the air.
Surrounded by endless darkness.
Despite representing vitality, the sapling showed no signs of life.
Scarlett and her companions instinctively tried to approach, only to find that the sapling seemed isolated by an invisible barrier.
Just like their Golden Light Barrier, which blocked out the darkness and protected the sapling from outside approach.
Without hesitation, Stella said,
"For something to be protected in the Otherworld Heavens’ domain, it must be important."
She intended to suggest finding a way to retrieve it.
But Scarlett suddenly spoke, saying,
"If I’m not mistaken... This sapling is the true form of the Otherworld Heavens."
She could sense a subtle connection between her Power of Heavenly Path and it.
The answer instinctively spoken when she realized this connection, though she didn’t understand why, only feeling she had seen the sapling before.
And if, since entering the Otherworld Heavens’ domain, all her intuitions were correct, she might know why the domain of the Otherworld Heavens was so corrupted—
"The otherworldly disaster wasn’t suppressed by the power of the Heavenly Path... but was entirely absorbed into its own domain from the beginning."
These suffocating darknesses within the Heavenly Path Domain weren’t malice, but disaster.
