The Fake Heiress Turns Out to Be a True Tycoon!-Chapter 1141: As a Parent
Emily Hearne rarely appears in front of others, and when she does, she always presents herself with snow-white hair and long robes, embodying a relaxed elegance.
But today, as she visits as Magnolia Hearneβs mother, she has deliberately transformed into a different appearance. ππΏπ²ππ πππ»πΌπ―ππ.ππΌπΊ
The snow-white hair remains, but the previously loose hair is now styled into an elegant bun, complemented by a meticulously tailored cheongsam, exuding an aura of noble grace.
What surprises Magnolia Hearne is not just that her mother, who left last night, is visiting again today, but also the purposefully aged features on her face.
She still appears to be an elegant beauty with the grace of age, yet her brow and eyes betray the passage of time.
At least in this appearance, standing next to Magnolia, they truly resemble a mother and daughter.
At the first glance of her mother, Magnolia feels an inexplicable twinge in her nose.
Back then, when Emily first saw her purposefully aged twenty years for Luca Jennings, she was full of disdain and contempt.
She felt that Magnolia had abandoned the demonic essence of the Hearne Clan by doing so.
Yet, her mother, who always had to maintain her most beautiful appearance, was willing to "age" in the eyes of others to match her deliberately "aged" daughter.
"What kind of look is that?"
Emily glanced at the red-nosed Magnolia in front of her, elegantly rolling her eyes, "Arenβt you going to invite me in?"
Despite her words, Emily walked straight past Magnolia and Luca Jennings into the house.
Old Sir Jennings and the lady of the Jennings Family hurried downstairs upon hearing the news, only to see Emily casually sitting in the main seat of the living room.
Just as Althea once did.
Old Sir Jennings, aware of her identity, naturally didnβt mind these small matters and greeted her with a smile along with Mrs. Jennings.
"You must be our in-law?"
Approaching her, Old Sir Jennings didnβt show much surprise at her appearance.
However, Mrs. Jennings was a bit envious.
Though Emily was playing a character of the same age as her today.
But there are differences even among elderly women.
Emily fit perfectly with what Mrs. Jennings imagined she would look like as she aged.
Emily was courteous to Old Sir Jennings, stating simply,
"Last night, I entered without your permission. Upon reflection, I felt I ought to visit formally and greet you properly."
In fact, Emily hadnβt thought of this visit the previous night.
It was only when Scarlett messaged her directly later.
That Emily learned the Jennings elders wished to meet this "in-law."
Back then, Emily had been reluctant just to see Luca, let alone form any real bond with these humans of the Jennings Family.
Just as, although she married Isaac Harper, she never thought of herself as anyoneβs daughter-in-law.
But Magnolia was apparently different from her.
If only for her daughter, Emily thought, she should make this trip.
No matter if human or demon, once a soft spot emerges, itβs easy to make compromise after compromise for the other.
Thatβs where she was now.
Old Sir Jennings, seeing her so courteous, was surprised internally, but didnβt show a hint of it on his face, hosting her warmly with the rest of the Jennings Family.
Perhaps not wanting to seem timid in front of Emily, Mrs. Jennings flawlessly played the role of a grand lady from a prestigious family, exhibiting a notably gracious and friendly demeanor throughout, only offering praise, never criticism, to Magnolia, her daughter-in-law.
Emily listened silently throughout, lightly stroking the silky fur of a beautiful little fox, which had nestled beside her without her noticing.
She spoke for the first time since entering, addressing Mrs. Jennings,
"I heard before that you didnβt quite like my daughter and granddaughter, so your words werenβt all kind...as it turns out, rumors truly are misleading."
Emily said it lightheartedly, even with a faint smile.
Yet her words brought an instant, awkward silence to the room.
Scarlett quietly nibbled on her snacks, appearing detached from the matter.
Magnolia looked at Emily with surprise, her expression implicitly questioning how Emily knew of these matters.
Emily had her ways of knowing what she wished to, and her knowledge wasnβt necessarily less than Magnoliaβs.
For example, the young members of the Jennings Family were not particularly welcoming to Scarlett at first.
Emily brought it up not for retribution.
In her view, being marginalized, despised, or mocked was not a big deal.
Every imp sprite must face hurdles during their growth, encountering and overcoming those who block or displease them.
The Demon Clan protects their cubs only when they face overwhelming oppression.
She could let it go, but she couldnβt leave them unaware of her stance.
To let the Jennings Family know that although this is the Jennings Home, Magnolia and Scarlett are never alone.
Not particularly fond of idle chatter, after emphasizing her point to Mrs. Jennings, Emily stood up to leave.
Though she could exit directly, respecting todayβs "persona," she allowed the Jennings to escort her to the door.
She did not let them continue outside, only Scarlett and Magnolia accompanied her out.
Passing through the garden, she caught sight of a woeful Wood Pattern Turtle on the lawn out of the corner of her eye.
With just a glance, she discerned the remaining Ten-tailed demonic power and identified the one trapped within the turtleβs consciousness.
Casually, she commented,
"The turtle is well-kept; you can keep it for a few more days."
Scarlett lacked the memories of Althea, and Donovan and they hadnβt yet shared about Henry Jenningsβ consciousness being switched with that of the turtle, which led Scarlett to initially be surprised by the turtleβs presence.
But only for a moment.
Upon sensing who the consciousness within belonged to, Scarlett nodded smoothly,
"Yes, it can be kept a few more days."
Though unaware of precisely what had happened to Donovan, she could guess.
If Althea acted against him, it must be Uncle Henryβs fault.
So be it.
Elsewhere, Donovan, seeing Scarlett pass by, noticed an obvious change in her demeanor compared to yesterday, suspecting the real Scarlett had returned, and in panic, tried desperately to crawl towards her for help.
Yet despite feeling his limbs moving so fast they might smoke, as a turtle, his speed was limited.
Before he could reach Scarlett, she and the others had already walked away.
Three figures reached the gate when suddenly, in a blink, they turned from three to two.
And those two continued onward calmly, unaffected.
Donovan shivered at the sight, instinctively retracting his neck further into his shell.
Forget it.
Heβll wait a bit longer.
While Donovan brooded silently, Scarlett, who had just left the gate, received a call from Ashton Todd.
The signal on the other end was distinctly noisy, with intermittent voices of Ashton and Stellaβ
"Scar, Scarlett, you... get... anomaly... trouble... ah!"
