The Extra's Survival-Chapter 228: Bloodline Upgrade Potion[3]
'Since my mother's rank is still at 3-Star that means she had a low-grade bloodline while others have high-grade bloodline and she might have been treated harshly.' Lucas thought inwardly.
'My poor mother.' Lucas didn't know just how big of a deviation his thought was.
Eleanor smiled bitterly and pinned his forehead and said "No, I assure you I am not from Eckart's. I remember your friend Roan also has red hair. That doesn't mean he is also from Eckart, does it?"
"Hmmm…" Lucas kept thinking.
"You will meet your grandparents soon, very soon I can promise that. Just give me some time to make things right." Eleanor spoke as she stroked Lucas's hair gently.
"Lucas, please stop deviating from the topic. You are prolonging the conversation unnecessarily. I still have some important things to tell you about." Leonard muttered.
"As I said, the berserker bloodline loses their reason once they become angry and go out of control but this is only in the case of males. Females having a berserker bloodline have much better control than males and yeah they can also get out of control if something really bad happens like losing your loved ones or some serious emotions are incited." Leonard explained.
"But if someone has a berserker bloodline of 100% purity, he or she will not lose rationality. And this potion had the power to make a bloodline reach 100% purity. Yes, that is only in the case of the Diamond bloodline. You may not know but each bloodline also has some distinctions like high, mid, and low. But this is only in the case of Diamond that's why the sub-classification was removed." Leonard ended his explanation.
"I see," Lucas muttered while rubbing his chin.
"So, what do you want me to do?" Lucas asked.
"Since you are going to visit Ralph for the competition, I think you should deliver the potion to the Eckarts. You can also greet their Princess and also ask for anything in exchange." Leonard advised.
"Think carefully before asking as it may be a great aid for you in the future. Don't be hasty in making the decision and also you don't need to be stingy as this potion's worth is immeasurable."
"Dad, do you think of me as some sort of big shot?" Lucas spoke with a mocking tone.
"Wouldn't they kick me out and think me crazy if I started to spout bullshit?"
"Moreover, do you think that they will even allow the excess?"
"They will allow you access once you see this letter," Leonard muttered and took out an envelope containing a letter and handed over the letter to Lucas.
Lucas stared at the stamp of the letter which looked like a family crest. There was a sword in the middle while two dragons coiled around it.
Lucas wondered if he had read about this crest or seen it somewhere but he couldn't remember.
"Is it our family crest?" Lucas asked curiously.
"Yeah, it used to be. Since we are not noble and are already commoners, we don't need it, but the Eckarts must have surely remembered about it as the potion is quite precious to them. If not for you, I wouldn't dare to use it. My father and his predecessor could have used it to preserve the family line but they didn't. If I had used the full potion, you might have a silver bloodline today." Leonard spoke trying to act pitiful after all he knew that his son had a golden bloodline.
Lucas stared at the ceiling thinking about the troublesome things that are going to come in the future.
...…..
Lucas, just to get a change of pace, decided to walk around the city.
He used to jog in the morning but that only extends to the vicinity. Today he was going to walk further, though his mother didn't want him to go out and stay in the house only to be spoiled by her.
"Hey, Lucas, how are you?"
"Lucas, you have grown into a fine gentleman, take this loaf of bread from this aunt."
"I miss those days when I used to call you cutie. Although you have grown up, the cuteness in your face is visible."
Lucas scratched his cheek, casting an embarrassed smile as he went through the locality while the aunties and people whom he doesn't have a memory of started to tease him.
'This guy was sure popular when he was a child, still getting called cute instead of handsome is embarrassing.' Lucas
chuckled as he strode through the road aimlessly while taking a bite of bread.
"It's sweet and delicious," Lucas mumbled as he chewed the small bite of bread that tastes similar to doughnuts.
Lucas was enjoying himself while wandering through the old town road and suddenly heard a scream.
"Here comes trouble," Lucas spoke with an apathetic smile as he heard the loud sound of the lady and started to dash towards the alleyway.
As Lucas reached the alleyway, he saw a lady struggling with the handbag while a man tried to snatch it.
The lady noticed Lucas and shouted for help.
"Please help me."
The thief took the opportunity of the lady's momentary distraction and snatched the lady's handbag and started to run away.
The lady cried and shouted, "Please! It contains my most precious treasure."
As she lamented and turned her head towards the gentleman who came there, a flash passed before her eyes.
She wasn't able to notice the figure and she only felt a cool gentle breeze passing by her.
If not for Lucas's voice, she wouldn't have been able to know that a human passed by.
"Lady, please stay there. I will retrieve the item." Lucas shouted as he trotted towards the man who stole the item.
Lucas who followed the man suddenly noticed that though the man was 2-Star rank, his speed was quite fast and comparable to 3-Star.
Lucas frowned at his sudden finding and as he followed him taking all turns and twists, he arrived at an open space and before he could reach him.
He senses danger and jumps back while rotating his body to twist himself.
As he landed on his feet, he saw two daggers fly past him and six men appeared around him and surrounded him.
"Fool, you dared to follow me? Hehe, don't you know that our gang is famous in Aegis? We are the Night Hook gang."
One of the men spoke with a sinister smile on his face.
