The Evolution of Genius: Every Night, I Get Smarter!-Chapter 114: Month of Time
Chapter 114: Month of Time
I thought for a while, looking at my father, who was happy about the successful tests.
Maybe my mother could soon see.
I said, "I understand your excitement, Dad, but they still need to control the patient for another week or two, and then another batch of patients will be provided the treatment. Let’s talk about it in a month; what do you say?"
My father nodded. "Yes, that will be best. We need to be sure."
After the conversation, I made my way to Coelus and the science tower.
With the help of The Lord, yet again, I entered the Jumping room. I faded away and Jumped to Ulthar’s cluster.
...
I woke up in the other body, and luckily, I was back at the house.
My counterpart seemed to not have made a fuss about everything this time.
I pulled out my phone and found a message from the other Maximillian:
"It’s Maximilian here. I wanted to say that I have no idea who you are, but I decided not to go to the clinic anymore, as you seem to have absolute control over what’s happening with me. Instead, I wanted to thank you for the opportunity to make use of what you did. I used the opportunity to the highest extent. I didn’t act like I forgot stuff; I acted like the mastermind should act. Low key, but I used what was given to me. I just want to know one thing: Will you ever give me my body back?"
I thought that was it, but there was another line at the very end: "Also. What’s your goal here? You want to create the biggest drug cartel in history or something?"
I decided to answer right away. I didn’t reveal the exact truth, but crafted a message:
"It’s exactly what you think it is. I’m an extraterrestrial being. We chose you for the experiment because you were in the best conditions; you already had a drug family established. We hope to take over the entire planet with the new formula for drugs that we have made. I hope you enjoy the ride. As soon as the drugs become mainstream, I will not come back to your body anymore."
I got out of the room and spent the day at the University, contemplating the next steps I should take.
The plan for the next month was clear. Expand the cartel while coming back and out of this cluster, ensuring that things are taken care of both here and in my cluster.
...
A month passed like a shot of lightning, and on that day, I found myself in Ulthar’s cluster, seated on a round sofa in a dimly lit room.
My counterpart’s father sat opposite me, accompanied by two other men, and a couple of girls lingered nearby.
The girls who sat right next to me were seemingly the least reluctant to be there. They were keen on establishing connections with me.
By this time, the cartel I had created had become expansive and influential, drawing attention from numerous countries whose special forces were tirelessly hunting for the culprits.
We operated more than 40 laboratories and had 500 dealers spread across the globe, distributing drugs to anyone willing to buy.
The client base had grown into millions, with tens of millions having tried the drug at least once. This accounted for almost 2% of the planet’s population.
Despite the numerous countries labeling us as terrorists and launching investigations, deals with governments had been established anonymously.
Only a select few knew the true leaders of the cartel, and the few girls present were risking their lives to be part of this operation.
They were under constant surveillance to ensure they didn’t divulge any unauthorized information.
So far, two of our laboratories have been discovered and destroyed, but the dealers associated with them didn’t even know who they were working for.
Even if special forces connected the laboratories to the same case, they had no means to trace it back to us.
Father looked at me with his legs crossed and said, "There have been some dogs sniffing around in Jurmund."
I nodded, "I’ve heard. We should be careful. No more confidential operations there. Just maintain regular communications with the dealers. And for the next week, hold off on sending any products into the labs we have there."
As we discussed Jurmund, another man, much younger than my father, chimed in from the side.
"What about Enderlands?"
I answered immediately, "Continue establishing the labs there. Jurmund and Enderlands don’t have any significant political connections. They won’t inform each other. We should be able to maintain operations smoothly in those regions. Keep an eye on developments and act accordingly."
The girl sitting next to me on the right had her hand on my thigh and asked, "What about me? What can I do?" She had long blonde hair, was skinny, and had pale skin.
In response to Katy’s question, I smiled and replied, "Katy, we have this huge client who might need someone like you to accompany him to a movie awards event. I’ll make the arrangements. OK?"
Katy grinned and responded, "Sure thing, Maxi," while gently caressing my leg.
After this, I stood up and left. My father called after me, "Where are you going?"
I replied, "I need some time for myself," and exited, returning to the house where I vanished and reappeared back at Coelus.
My plan in the Ulthars Cluster was to do very well.
In 6 weeks I took over the mentality of the citizens and created one of the biggest brands in history. An Illegal brand at that.
Probably another 2-3 months and I will be able to finish the plan. But for now, I had something important to do.
Recently, I went on some truly amazing trips on Earth. The first was with Oliv and Veronica, where we explored the majesty of the Colorado Rockies. It was peaceful, with tall pine trees and stunning views from the mountain tops.
Then we left the peaceful mountains for the lively streets of Las Vegas.
After that, Oliv and I went to Sweden and found a cute town by Lake Siljan.
The red cottages along the shore looked like they were from a fairy tale, and the forests were like something out of a storybook. We walked around the cobblestone streets and listened to the lake’s soft whispers.
Between moments of relaxation, I made progress on the String Harmony project and the University of Excellence Network.
Near Boston, Frankfurt, and Stockholm, I bought land for construction and the initial Universities were now being built.
I created an app for students to anonymously grade professors. This would become a factor in hiring.
Professors’ pay would depend on contributions to their student’s understanding, and not to the university’s reputation.
Professors would retain ownership of their work.
I wanted educators to be valued for their impact on students’ lives. For teaching them the ability to use that knowledge for practical solutions.
Meanwhile, at the nano factory that we bought, thousands of nanomotors were churned out daily.
One more month and the technology would be ready for testing.
I had a meeting with Elon Musk scheduled for the following month.
NeuralDream completed optic nerve treatments for dozens of patients, yielding a high success rate.
All experienced significant improvements.
However, only 34% could discern shapes after waking up, while others could vaguely perceive colors.
While it was hard for patients to fully recover after just one treatment, the first patient, who is now in her second session... her optic nerve showed clear signs of growth and progress.
Her ability to discern shapes had improved compared to the initial treatment.
That’s why today I headed straight to the Chicago hospital, specifically to the Ophthalmology sector.
As I entered the floor, my brother and sister were sitting outside. I approached them.
They exclaimed, "You’re here!"
I affirmed and quickly asked, "Is mother already in the operation room?"
Kaya replied, "No, she’s still talking with father inside," pointing towards the pre-operational room.
"Why are you two not inside then?" I asked.
Mike explained, "Father said to leave them alone."
Despite this, I decided to go in.
Inside, I found my mother on the bed and my father conversing with her.
I assured them, saying, "Don’t worry. Everything will be alright."
Father nodded, and I took a seat beside them. ƒrēenovelkiss.com
A minute later, a group of doctors entered the room and escorted my mother to the operating room.
After my mother was taken away, my father, siblings, and I waited in the hospital for around 8 hours.
The operation was lengthy because the application of stem cells and psychotropes required time intervals. It was a crucial procedure, so the doctors took charge of every aspect.
After a considerable wait, two doctors emerged, pulling the bed themselves. Typically, nurses would handle this, but given the significance of the operation, the doctors wanted to oversee everything.
One of them stopped in front of us, locking eyes with me and then my father. With a reassuring tone, the doctor stated, "The operation itself went without any complications. She should wake up tomorrow."
My father, without giving the doctor time to explain, anxiously asked, "Will she see?"
The doctor responded, "Well... you should have seen the results of the other patients, right? I’m pretty sure that her eyesight will improve given enough time."
