The Epic Tale of Chaos vs Order-Chapter 2456: Half-Step Fourth Realm speed
Despite his rough appearance, General Fausto was in fact extremely intelligent and exceptionally skilled in logistics. Since there was no way to predict where fragments of the Sacred Treasure might appear, he had divided the entire realm into quadrants.
There were hundreds of thousands of them.
The scope of the task was enormous. Searching such vast territories required millions of warriors, each possessing a consciousness powerful enough to engulf entire moons. It was through this method that they had discovered the gauntlet, and the search network was now being expanded even further.
"We require not only the strength of your elite warriors," General Fausto said, "but also the millions under your command who possess a consciousness capable of covering at least a radius of ten thousand kilometers."
As he spoke, Fausto’s sharp gaze settled on the Scarlet King.
The reason was obvious. Everyone present knew that Cain had arrived with only three companions.
Although Cain was still processing the fact that he had located a second fragment using the Power of Chaos, he pushed that thought to the back of his mind and calmly met the bulky Royal Blutlinie’s gaze.
"My Ocean of the Blood Sun can release millions of aquatic creatures with whom I share sight," Cain replied evenly. "They can explore every inch of the terrain within the quadrants surrounding the Ocean. That includes the former territories of the Kalos and Aztorus Kingdoms. If they detect anything unusual, I will be informed immediately."
General Fausto narrowed his eyes as he performed several quick calculations before nodding.
"That will be satisfactory. With the Ocean of the Blood Sun’s forces, we have already covered fourteen percent of the quadrants."
After saying this, Fausto turned toward the Heartcram King and the Evernight Queen.
"The troops you brought here will come under my command for the search. I also expect the forces remaining in your kingdoms to begin exploration of the surrounding quadrants immediately."
Abraham and Alucar both nodded. In truth, they had little choice but to comply.
"Excellent," the Dark Blood King said, satisfaction evident in his voice. "The search will proceed under General Fausto’s command. The faster we recover the fragments, the sooner we can begin incursions into the other realms and seize their pieces."
Cold brutality flashed through his eyes as he spoke those last words, revealing just how much the prospect of war excited him. However, he quickly regained control of his emotions.
"Of course," he added, "you will not be working for free."
With a wave of his hand, three rings flew toward the assembled kings.
"These will allow you to communicate with one another even across realms. They will also grant you access to our military interface, where you can view the resources, treasures, and facilities available to you in exchange for your contributions."
Cain and the other two sovereigns immediately sent their consciousness into the rings.
The first thing that appeared was a list of communication channels, along with a system for tracking and earning military credits. The trio quickly moved past those functions and focused on the catalog of available rewards.
Their eyes widened.
Some of the items listed surpassed anything available in their own kingdoms.
Cain’s expression sharpened the moment he saw a body refinement technique focused on speed. A fierce desire ignited within him.
The Savitar Technique had already pushed his speed to the peak of the Alpha–Omega Overgod level. If he perfected it, he could reach the Limit Alpha–Omega stage.
But the technique offered by the Dark Blood Kingdom promised something far beyond that—
Half-Step Fourth Realm speed.
The implication was staggering. His speed could double, perhaps even triple.
However, when he saw the price, a frown immediately formed.
The first requirement was an astronomical number of Omen Cores. Fortunately, after plundering the Kalos and Aztorus Kingdoms, Cain possessed more than enough wealth to cover that cost.
The true obstacle was the second requirement: military credits.
And the amount demanded was equally astronomical.
"The battles haven’t even begun yet," Cain thought. "I can’t earn credits through combat. The only way to obtain them now is by securing quadrants and recovering Sacred Treasure fragments."
He already knew the location of one fragment.
But he had not yet decided what he would do with that knowledge.
"Now that you have the information," the Dark Blood King said, drawing their attention back, "we will begin preparations. Take the rest of the day to settle your affairs. The full-scale exploration will commence tomorrow."
The three kings nodded. After offering a respectful bow, they withdrew from the hall.
Once they were gone, the atmosphere immediately changed.
Averus and Fausto’s expressions grew cold.
"I detected no reaction from any of them when they examined the fragment or its mark," Fausto said in a concise tone. "It is likely that none of them had encountered such items before."
"Or perhaps they are simply good at hiding it," Averus replied, his voice carrying sharp hostility. "No one reaches their level without learning how to scheme. You only need to look at the newest among them."
The Dark Blood King turned toward him, eyes narrowing.
"You believe the Scarlet King already possesses a fragment?"
Averus remained silent for a moment before shaking his head.
"I focused on him during the entire exchange and detected nothing unusual. I also placed one of my best agents as his assistant. She reported the contents of the spatial rings carried by the Scarlet King and his guards. There were no fragments inside."
He paused before continuing.
"Even if he managed to hide his shock, I doubt someone so young could maintain such flawless control."
Although he hated Cain, Averus was capable of remaining rational. He did not allow emotion to cloud his judgment—something the Dark Blood King appreciated.
"Very well," the king said slowly. "For now, they will be useful."
A dark, calculating light passed through his eyes.
"And when everything is over..."
His thoughts continued in silence, filled with cold ambition and deeper schemes yet to unfold.
