The Emperor's Omega Is An Extra-Chapter 324: Final Game
Chapter 324: Final Game
While the situation was leaning on their side, Spade didn’t want to be complacent and especially instructed his forces to always be vigilant to the organization’s movements.
He knew how sly the marquis was, and unless they already won the war, a lot of things could still happen on the battlefield.
"Your Majesty..." one of his men still couldn’t help but speak out as they began their preparations to enter the headquarters.
Everyone was apprehensive about this plan, but no one dared to directly express their thoughts in front of the emperor. It wasn’t that they didn’t trust the monarch’s capabilities, but this plan was truly dangerous.
Spade merely glanced at him, resulting in him bowing his head, not daring to continue.
Of course, Spade knew everyone’s concern about his safety, but this was a war that they needed to end themselves. His gaze landed on Arren, who was already fully geared and wearing protective vests.
"Don’t worry," Spade opened his mouth and muttered to his subordinate without looking at him, his eyes were only focusing on Arren. "Everything will go according to plan."
And even if it didn’t... Spade would make sure, they would come out alive and victorious. He was never one to comply with a fixed plan, and a situation where he needed to improvise was part of his consideration.
With this, no one spoke again and could only support their backs.
"Are you ready?" Spade stood beside Arren and looked at him in the eye.
Although their hands and bodies were brushing against each other, the two were not particularly intimate. However, for some reason, it still gave the same impression to those looking at them.
Arren stared into Spade’s eyes for a good few seconds before he took a deep breath and nodded.
"I’m ready." Arren answered with a certain firmness in his tone.
Spade’s lips curled slightly, and he nodded gently. "Let’s go."
With his signal, their team set off.
It was time to end the nightmare that continued to haunt them in this life.
The organization’s structure was not much different from their other bases, which were only spacious as a clear comparison. In fact, their other bases were more extensive in terms of underground space than their headquarters.
After all, other bases were all for their laboratories and large-scale factories. The headquarters was more like where the higher-ups stayed, as well as where the core secrets of the organization were located.
Also, perhaps the reason the headquarters had such a simple design was because it was placed in a rather delicate location, being a bit closer to the empire.
However, it was still the most guarded base, being true to its name.
A team composed of ten individuals was passing through a secret route, that was only disclosed to certain individuals. In the past life, it was the Duke who discovered it, and he then used it to infiltrate inside.
Later, it was also recorded when a black intel team investigated this place before the decisive battle in the capital began.
The hallways were not overly complicated, but certain doors needed access to be able to get inside. Even so, it wouldn’t hinder their mission too much, as they only had one purpose for coming here.
"Maintain all of your positions," Spade whispered commandingly as he also firmly grasped the automatic rifle he was holding. While looking ahead and not stopping, he continued, much softer this time. "Don’t leave my side."
Spade spoke at Arren, who was at his side but slightly behind, without looking at him, maintaining his posture. Arren also didn’t answer but silently nodded his head.
Taking a deep breath, Spade’s eyes flickered as he adjusted his protective mask. The end of the hallway was in their sight as he visibly slowed down. Arren and the others’ followed his movements.
Spade also didn’t know what was waiting for them at the end, as he had never set foot in this place before, like everyone else. All the knowledge he had was from the reports that he read and the behaviors of the agents in his past life.
As they continued walking, another set of footsteps also resounded in the enclosed space. They were about to encounter organization agents!
Arren’s heart throbbed as his breath slowed down. In fact, he was very anxious, but as he looked at Spade’s back, he could still calm himself down.
Spade was truly like a pillar at this moment—a very strong and reliable pillar for him to hold on to.
No one said a word as they continued, without stopping at all. Soon, they finally came face-to-face with the organization’s agents. Both sides abruptly stopped as they stared at each other, seemingly observing each other.
Arren bit his lips and tried so hard to maintain his calm and straight demeanor. He was greatly thankful that he was wearing a protective mask or that he had long given himself away.
After a few seconds of staring at each other, the other side spoke first, which seemed to be the leader.
"Batch D13?" His tone of voice was harsh and almost annoying to the ears, without any emotion at all.
After a second, someone responded, it was Spade.
"Team D13, Codename Axel. Escort mission ongoing." Spade’s tone was not much different from the other, and sounded so lifeless and monotonous.
In fact, if Arren had not known that Spade was the one in front of him, he wouldn’t recognize him with this voice! Arren was shocked inwardly, but his face was still calm on the surface.
He didn’t know that his alpha knew how to act and even change his voice.
The other side didn’t respond for a moment, which made Arren nervous. After a while, as though listening to something, he nodded.
"Team D13, Codename Axel. Escort mission confirmed." He responded with the same tone.
Spade didn’t respond again and remained in his position. The other team then strode and passed by them, continuing until the end of the tunnel... where they would meet their end.
When the other side was confirmed to be gone, Spade began walking again as they followed him. The first step was a success, but they still had a long way to go.
That exchange was short and seemed simple, but Arren’s heart was racing so hard, with his back already sweating in anxiety. One misstep and it was over, their cover would be blown away instantly.
Right, their team was in disguise as the organization agents who were part of the escort mission. It just so happened that the tunnel they were eyeing was what they were using, and Spade used it as an opportunity to disguised as them.
The real agents were long dead, and they were now using their uniforms. All of their information was also recovered soon after, especially the most important code.
If not, they would not be able to disguise themselves easily.
Arren didn’t know that the organization’s agents were like that, which was so robotic. Spade was very familiar with this, as he dealt with them a lot in the previous timeline. freēwēbnovel.com
Unlike liaisons and some spies, who retained their humanity to blend in normally with society, most of the important agents in their midst had long been stripped of their emotions and desires.
The Old Order only needed unwavering loyalty, and nothing else. In this sense, they were really an ideal combat force on the battlefield.
