The Emperor's Omega Is An Extra-Chapter 313: Ruthless Liviera
Chapter 313: Ruthless Liviera
It wasn’t only Levin who was shocked to see Liviera in front of them; it was even more so for the royal guards who were with them. They almost forgot how to greet a royal as they were dumbstruck by this unexpected event.
"Y-Your—" Before they finished the salute, Liviera lifted his hand in front of them and stopped them immediately.
He shook his head and reminded them.
"There’s no need for that. We’re all on the same mission; act as normal as you can."
This was easier than done, but Liviera made sense. They were on an important mission after all, and they couldn’t afford to be distracted. It was only that, even for these elite royal guards, knowing that the mother empress was with them, they were finding it hard to adapt.
Levin stood like a statue, his breathing slowing down considerably as though he was afraid that his presence might become a nuisance for the empress. Their last meeting was indeed unpleasant, but Levin could understand him.
His parents were the ones at fault, and the empress had the right to get mad.
He was getting nervous that Levin was hesitating if he should greet him, as this would put this mission in jeopardy instead because of his presence.
Levin couldn’t understand just why the person he was supposed to get along with on this mission was the mother empress? He couldn’t comprehend just what the emperor was thinking!
"Levin..." At this call, Levin immediately snapped out of these thoughts and stood up straight.
"Y-Yes... Your Majesty." There was a hint of anxiety in his whole being; it was something that was rarely seen by him in his prime, but recently, it was becoming a common sight.
What happened truly changed and gave a huge blow to Levin’s confidence.
Liviera’s expression turned slightly sour, not because of Levin, though. It was more about the situation they were in.
He reached out his hand, but halfway, he stopped himself. Some things were hard to mend, something that he learned recently. There were a lot of lessons and realizations that Liviera managed to gain in a short period.
While they were there in his mind the whole time, Liviera was so consumed by his rage and revenge that he had become blind and insensitive to a lot of things.
That included... Levin, his nephew.
Sighing, he chose to let him know where he stood this time, the same thing that he did with Spade.
"Levin... Don’t be so formal. I know I have been so harsh on you lately, knowing nothing of this is your fault."
Levin shook his head bitterly.
"I... I deserve it, Your Majesty." His gaze was still below, not daring to look at Liviera.
Liviera looked at Levin for a moment before he decided to drop it for now. This conversation would go nowhere, and what they had to do was more important.
He keenly recovered himself and reached out again, while he hesitated briefly. This time, Liviera continued and patted Levin’s shoulders.
For now, this was enough. Seeing his nephew like this was also hard for him; after all, he also saw him grow up alongside his son, but... This wouldn’t change what he desires.
Liviera wanted revenge. That didn’t change at all. However, what changed from the last and this timeline... His ruthlessness was nowhere to be found.
When Arren thought that everything was a plot in the book, he was quite scared of Liviera, and this was not unfounded. Even though what Arren saw were bits and pieces and only those from Rave’s perspective, the title Ruthless Liviera was something that greatly described him.
During the course of the first timeline, there was no reconciliation between Spade and him, and the revenge path he was treading on was no different from how destructive Spade was at that time.
After all, Spade was also losing himself little by little at that time, and he missed the opportunity to check on his equally insane omega father.
Both of them were walking in the path of no return, as Liviera never thought of living after things concluded either. He had nothing to lose, only his life, a life that was not important to him anymore.
On one occasion, to be able to lay a trap for the organization’s forces, Liviera used Rave as bait and a sacrifice, someone that the leader was also looking for to make his parents obedient.
At that operation, a lot also died, and Rave almost died as well, and yet Liviera always thought it was successful. The reason? He got what he was looking for. A clue as to where Princess Noreen was.
For revenge, he was willing to sacrifice anything and anyone.
Ivo had asked him. "Din’t you have a son?" This was a question to make him guilty of what he did to his son.
Liviera’s eyes were as calm as before, but they were almost empty. Hearing this question, he looked at the injured Ivo under his feet and Rave, who was unconscious next to him.
The reunion of the father and son was everything but sweet. It was not a good memory, either.
"Yes..." He answered; there were no big waves in his heart. "I have a son."
"Would you sacrifice him too?"
Liviera fell silent for a moment; he then wiped the blood that was in his hands. Slowly, he turned to Ivo and smiled.
"Do you think I’ll sacrifice your son if I can do that?"
Spade was much more enticing of bait than Rave, but would Liviera sacrifice his son for revenge? The answer was in front of them.
Ivo swallowed the anger in his heart and embraced his son.
Liviera’s hands were not clean then, but he could do a lot of things. His torture methods were something even the elite in black intel wouldn’t be able to handle.
What made this title prominent were the things he did in his last moments.
"Kill me..." said a weak voice, yet there was a smile on her lips.
Liviera laughed, holding his sister-in-law’s hair. In a way, in such a bloody scene, both of them were equally insane.
"Do you think I’ll let you off easy?" Liviera dragged Noreen’s hair; blood was flowing through both of their bodies as he stepped on the familiar stairs, reaching the place he had never once set foot into again for all these years.
The ground was stained with both of their blood and yet they seemed to not think of it too much.
"Noreen..." Liviera sharply called, his eyes suddenly brimming with tears as he looked at the picture before him. "Apologize... apologize with your life to my husband."
Noreen fell silent, and then, like Liviera, unknowingly, tears also began to pool in her eyes.
Both cried in such a tragic scene.
In the mausoleum of the late emperor, Noreen met her end. And... the same as Liviera.
When Spade arrived, he could only witness the tragic image in the end.
Liviera was indeed ruthless until the end of his life. Cruel to his enemies, to himself... and to his son.
