Chapter 118: Solomon Is a Kept Man?

Jiaoying’s territory was on one of the farther sides of Eirbane. From the central city, it was about a two-hour carriage ride.

Jiaoying and her partners were experiencing rather warm moods between them. They held hands and stared at each other sweetly with patient, soft gazes.

Even though none of them said a word, the moment felt unmistakably perfect.

While gazing upon the faces of her lovers, Yari coincidentally caught sight of the world outside the window and gasped. "My word..."

Jiaoying followed her gaze and shrugged nonchalantly. "Oh. I guess we’re here."

Solomon couldn’t understand for the life of him why she was so cavalier about all of this.

Jiaoying was the knight commander of Eirbane’s entire military. But she still had her own territory that she managed.

Aurelios was the second-most-important city in all of Eirbane. Its harbor was the richest on the continent and controlled a great many major sea routes. Money flowed like wine here.

The place doubled as a hub for politics. Eirbane’s famous magic tower sat just outside the city. Great houses from all over Komen send their children there to receive formal training and hopefully become court mages.

Aurelios’ elevation and naval power made it nearly impossible to conquer. Jiaoying’s presence here only added to the security of the location.

There were few places in the world more beautiful.

The bright blue sky above nearly mirrored the crystal blue ocean below. A small beach sat at the foot of a short mountainside. Solomon had never before seen such splendid architecture.

Rich vibrant greenery was melded into the city in a way that felt vibrant, fresh, and free. The buildings were all made of ivory stone with beautiful cobalt roofs on top of them. At the top of a cliff, overlooking the city below was a grand abode that could nearly be called a palace.

The gilded columns, large balconies, and even the open courtyard, were all beyond exuberant.

Yari and Solomon slowly turned to Jiaoying, their jaws agape.

"...What?"

-

The inside of Jiaoying’s estate was not as large as it appeared from the road.

It was even larger.

Stepping past the nearly fifteen-foot doors into her home, the first thing the group did was gasp.

"Welcome home, my lady. It’s been far too long."

Exactly sixteen maids and butlers were standing in two rows in front of a grand staircase.

In front of them was an older, unique-looking titan-blood.

His skin was a rather deep blue. White hair flowed down his back in unrestrained locks, disturbed only by the obsidian horns coming out of his head.

His eyes were entirely red, from pupil, to retina, to sclera. Though they did not seem malicious. He spoke like quite a warm individual.

The polished clothing and well-manicured appearance only helped to reinforce that impression.

"It’s nice to see you are in good health, Ryth. It has been very long indeed." Jiaoying smiled.

She stretched and her posture relaxed for the first time since she’d arrived back on home soil.

"Ah, it is nice to be back. I feel relieved already."

The man called Ryth looked behind his lady, and a bit of surprise showed on his blue face.

"Are these guests?"

Jiaoying beamed. "Yes! They’ll be staying with us for the foreseeable future. Please do your best to make them comfortable, everyone."

"YES MA’AM!"

She turned to the group with a slightly nervous air.

"Ah... I’m not sure what to do first. Would you all like a tour? Or maybe you want to wash up and rest first?"

The group was still stunned by everything that they had walked into. If you gave them an hour they wouldn’t have been able to come to a decision.

Their eyes were glossy, and their mouths were open for nearly anything to come flying into.

"...Rest it is then."

Jiaoying pointed out Nila, Dakota, Everett, and even Raizel.

"Could you find these three some rooms please? Make sure that they are comfortable."

"Certainly, my lady."

Three maids took the four stunned visitors upstairs to find their accommodations.

Ryth glanced at Solomon and Yari.

"Are these two not staying with us?"

Jiaoying coughed as she looked away, her cheeks reddening. "Ahem... these two will be staying in my room."

One could almost see the exact moment that information settled in the mind of Ryth.

Once he processed it, his eyes naturally widened.

"...OH."

"ANYWAY!" Jiaoying would have given her left foot to change the subject. "I need you to tell the cooks to prepare a dinner for seven. Something splendid."

"Certainly... Anything else?"

Jiaoying glanced back at her lovers and the few items they were carrying. Even Bansha, while nestled in Solomon’s arm, seemed completely stunned by everything she saw.

"...Actually... There is."

She whispered her request to her head butler. Something that only served to make Yari and Jiaoying even more nervous.

-

Jiaoying’s bedroom was somehow even nicer than the rest of the house. White marble floors spanned the entire 1,000 square foot space. There were two short steps leading up to a bed that resembled a cloud pulled from the sky.

Speaking of skies, there was a mural on Jiaoying’s mural that depicted a soft, cloudy sky. There were normal things like a desk for work and a bookshelf that was jam-packed.

But there were also things like foldable glass doors that led out to a terrace with a breathtaking ocean view. Even in the winter months, the space would still be viable. The fireplace nearby would keep them perfectly warm and cozy.

Yari and Solomon stood side by side, their shock still quite evident.

"You guys can stop looking like that now." Jiaoying pouted.

Solomon’s jaw was still open. "I’ve... been trying since we got here."

Raizel often said his brother was too frugal for his own good. Living on the streets would usually do that to a person.

Solomon had never stayed in a place this nice in his entire life.

Even Yari, who was used to nice things, was feeling slightly burdened.

"Jiaoying... we haven’t even been together that long, so all of this feels just a bit-"

"I would do this for all of you even if we were not together. You are people who need help. And I have the resources to help you. Please, don’t put any more thought into it than that."

Jiaoying closed the space between them. First, she cupped Yari’s face in her hand and kissed her, then after pulling away, she did the same thing to Solomon.

Naturally, she pulled away when Bansha started pawing at her breast; irritated from being suffocated.

She laughed subtly.

"Why don’t the two of you go and step into the bath? They should be here within the hour."

"...They?" Solomon tilted his head.

Jiaoying smiled. "The finest tailors and cobblers in all of Aurelios. You all left in a hurry, so you’re going to need some clothes, you know?"

Just when they were finally getting better, Solomon and Yari had their jaws drop once again.

Jiaoying scratched underneath Bansha’s chin. "And I’ve even asked for a mage artisan to make a fireproof doggy bed for you as well."

Now, Bansha could no longer keep her mouths closed either.
