The dragon's harem-Chapter 1186: Soul Coin
Lunara and Gamond fell down, their brains reeling from the sudden impact. The two have been focusing too much on their hearing so they can fight the harrowingly fast tentacles, but now that enchanted sense has been used against them. Blood streamed from their ears, and they found themselves both blind and deaf.
The situation was bad, really bad. It took Lunara and Gamond just a second to get back on their feet and get ready to fight. They felt an impact a bit further away and sensed demonic magic wavering, the two minotaurs had engaged either the tentacles or bats in a fight.
Neither Lunara nor Gamond was good with their other senses. Gamond might've relied on her nose in the outside world, but here in hell, everything reeks like rotten flesh, so her nose can't help.
But at that moment, they felt something strange, a new sensation. Gamond lifted her hand, a shockwave was going to crush them in the next second. She immediately conjured an ice barrier above them and felt it tremble from the impact.
Lunara suddenly sensed her rips crack and her left arm shatter. And with that sensation, she jumped up and dodged a fast tentacle. A shiver ran down her spine as if her whole body was caressed by someone, something was crawling over her whole body. With a round kick, she shattered the tentacle that was about to wrap around her body mid-air and then landed on the ground, a deep frown on her face.
Gamond, on the other hand, smiled, "Lunara! You better apologize to that seer."
Haru, the blind and deaf seer, stood in the middle of everyone, her hands extended forward as she spread her mental link with everyone, giving them vision of their bodies a second before anything happened. If Lunara knew that her left arm would get shattered in a second, she would dodge the attack.
Thanks to the seer's power, the two could keep fighting, but that won't last long. Soon, Haru saw her own death. Crushed by a tentacle so badly that her skull rested in the bowl of her hip bone. The pain, the agony, she felt everything, and sent that vision to Gamond.

A second later, Gamond flew above Haru's head and punched the tentacle away, cursing under her breath, "Damn it, he found out about her."
Indeed, whatever the creature was in the darkness, it now started targeting Haru to weaken them. It even stopped aiming attacks at Matilda. Intelligent monsters are more dangerous than strong ones, and this horror is both strong and smart.
The battle kept raging on for another few seconds as Lunara and Gamond struggled to kill the bats and keep the tentacles at bay, but they were fighting a losing fight. At this rate, more of them would start dying. Solace had it easy, dying before he could see this terrifying battle. Lucky goat.
As Sara heard the two minotaurs crying in pain as they fought the terrifying bats, she finally pulled the soul coin that Asmodeus gave her. This soul coin had a sun engraved on one side and an eclipse on the other, showing that it's an artifact of Amaterasu and not Asmodeus. As a priestess of Asmodeus, she knows a little fact. Asmodeus is Amaterasu's strongest Archon… yes, that devil queen is a fallen archangel.
Sara lifted the coin and threw it to the ground. There was no place here to exchange the coin, so this was the only way she could think of using it. And she was right. The soul coin bounced off the ground and flashed brightly before shattering.
Nothing happened.
Sara stood still, stunned. She looked around, but nothing appeared or happened. She waited a second, two, five, ten, a minute passed, and nothing happened. The fight was growing more dire by the second, and she couldn't keep healing everyone like this. She can't even heal Lunara and Gamond since they are far too strong to be healed in a second or two.
But then, the darkness suddenly shuddered after two minutes of dreadful nothingness. Someone was standing where the coin had shattered.
Everyone froze and looked. A woman in full plate armor with flowing blond hair, alabaster skin, and two eyes burning like incandescent suns stood there, her whole body glowing as if on fire.
The soul coin must've been used to summon a champion of Amaterasu, an angel perhaps, and that's what the devils here thought based on how much divine magic the armored woman seemed to have. But Sara and Matilda froze.
"Lydia?!" Their voice sounded both starteled and confused but at the same time hopeful. They saw what she could do and knew that Lydia might just be able to at least heal Gamond and Lunara so they can fight.
What they didn't expect was for her eyes to be staring straight at the darkness. She lifted her longsword and pierced the ground with its tip, causing the ground around her within a hundred meters to start glowing with divine magic.
All of the tentacles and bats that flew close caught on divine fire and started burning to ash. The seer quickly screamed, "Don't look at the monster's true body. It is too abhorrent and twisted. I believe it's also infused with the will of an ancient sinner god, it'll drive you insane."
Haru's words were true; the creature's gruesome and disgusting body was far too appalling for a mere mortal to see.
Lydia's eyes were fixed on the darkness, coldly staring at its limitless void. They burned with divine magic as she slowly lifted her hand up with an open palm.
"How could I slay evil if I can't look at it?" Her body roared with divine magic. "What foolish god dares touch my will? My will is Amaterasu's will."
A small incandescent sun appeared above Lydia's palm and started burning with enough heat to melt Gamond's ice.
"So, I ask you, ancient evil god or whatever you were. Do you dare gaze upon the sun? Do you not fear the blinding light?"
After several seconds of silence, Lydia sighed, "Guessed so," and she flung the sun at the darkness and dashed after it. Soon, the ground trembled as the two started fighting. Blinding flashes of light started sparking in the darkness, and waves of divine fire rose to the sky.
Lydia was fighting whatever was in the darkness, her mind and soul protected by her unbreakable will and solid faith. The link between her and Amaterasu shielded her. Paladins are weapons in the hands of the gods, and unless this evil god can wrestle her from Amaterasu's hands, he can't do anything.
Sara fell to her knees as the ground shook. She crawled toward Gamond and Lunara to heal them now that the evil god is busy with Lydia. "I should've known…" She cursed, "Paladins are nutsacks, diving head first into fire. They are already mad."
