The Disdained Luna Who Rose Alone-Chapter 140 No More Mercy
Evelynβs POV
After gently placing me in the back seat of the newly arrived vehicle, he took something from one of his men and walked toward the two trembling women.
"You canβtβ" Liriβs protest was cut short by her own scream. πππππ¬πππ·ππΏππ‘.ππΈπ
Clara didnβt even get a chance to speak. Two gunshots rang out, and both women dropped to their knees, screaming in agony as Calvin shot them in the kneecaps with silver bullets.
Clara tried to steady herself with her unbroken hand, but Calvin shot her in the wrist too. Her plastic surgery face twisted in pain as she rolled around on the ground.
"Calvin... why?" she sobbed, tears streaming down her face.
Liri wasnβt doing any better. Already injured from our collision, she couldnβt move as Calvin shot her in all four limbs one by one. Her eyes, bloodshot with hatred, remained fixed on me sitting in the car.
"Why is it always you?" she screamed through her pain. "Why does someone always come to save you? Whatβs so special about you?"
I leaned back against the seat, feeling dizzy from losing so much blood but forcing myself to stay awake. Even after everything these women had done, I couldnβt help feeling a little sorry for them in their pathetic state. Then I thought about my kids and how close theyβd come to being killed, and any pity I had just disappeared.
"The boys," I whispered urgently as Calvin returned to the car. "Where are Rowan and Rhys?"
"Theyβre safe with Leon," he assured me, his voice surprisingly gentle as he climbed in beside me. "He got them away before the worst of it started."
Relief flooded through me, making me momentarily light-headed. "Thank Moon Goddess."
"Donβt move," Calvin ordered as he carefully examined the wound on my back. His fingers were surprisingly gentle against my torn skin. "You need a doctor right away."
As we drove away from the mess, I got one last look at Clara and Liri being tied up by Calvinβs guys. They still had that same hate in their eyes even though theyβd lost.
"Theyβll never give up," I said quietly, talking more to myself than to Calvin.
"They wonβt get another chance," he replied, his voice cold and final.
Calvinβs POV
The car raced through the night, and every bump made my panic worse as Evelynβs head fell against my shoulder. Blood soaked through her shirt and covered my hands as I tried to put pressure on her wound. My heart was pounding so hard I thought it might burst. She was so pale, too pale.
"Evelyn," I whispered, my voice shaking. "Stay with me."
Her eyes almost opened but didnβt quite make it. The smell of her blood filled the car, making Cyra go crazy in my head.
"She canβt die," Cyra growled.
Iβd never been this scared in my life. The thought of losing her forever, of never seeing her smile again, never hearing her voice, it hurt worse than anything. And our sons... they almost got killed too. Knowing I could have lost all of them in one night made me sick to my stomach.
If I had just gone to pick her up myself instead of sending a security team...
"Weβre almost there, Alpha," Beta Zeon said, snapping me out of my thoughts.
I nodded quickly, holding Evelynβs limp body tighter against my chest. Her breathing was weak, each breath sounding painful. The wound on her back had bled through the bandage Iβd pressed against it.
Beta Zeon asked. "Alpha Calvin, how is Miss Evelyn?"
"Out cold," I replied, my voice strained. "Lost a lot of blood. Bad cuts all over her back."
I looked up at him. "What about the rogues?"
"All taken down."
My jaw clenched so hard I thought my teeth might crack. "What about Clara and Liri?"
"Both locked up with guards watching them like you wanted."
"Good." I looked down at Evelynβs pale face. "Whatβs our ETA?"
"Three minutes to the hospital. Theyβre ready for us."
The rest of the drive passed in tense silence, interrupted only by Evelynβs rough breathing. When we finally got to the emergency entrance of Wolfe Havenβs private medical facility, a team of doctors was already waiting with a gurney.
I carried her out myself, not letting anyone else touch her. Only when we reached the emergency bay did I reluctantly place her on the gurney, watching as they rushed her away through double doors marked βAUTHORIZED PERSONNEL ONLY.β
Zeon came up beside me, his usual stoic expression replaced with genuine concern. "The twins are okay but running fevers from the shock. Theyβre in the VIP suite with guards watching them."
I nodded, my eyes still fixed on the doors Evelyn had gone through.
"What should we do with Clara and Liri?" Zeon asked quietly.
I turned to him, feeling a chill run through me."Claraβs Alpha and the pack elders are already locked up in the Alpha Councilβs prison. Iβve been too lenient with her because she once saved Rhys. That ends tonight."
Cyra growled in agreement, bloodlust evident in his tone. "She tried to harm our children and Evelyn."
I responded, "She did more than try. She hurt them. Now we make her regret it and pay."
"Put Clara in our packβs dungeon," I continued, my voice dropping to a dangerous whisper. "Isolated cell. No visitors. No contact. When the Alpha Council finishes their investigation of Calypso Pack, sheβll be executed quietly."
Zeonβs eyes widened slightly, but he nodded without hesitation.
"And Liri Johnson?" he asked.
"Her father Cyrus has connections with Silas, the former Alpha of Brownfur Pack," I said, staring at the blood drying on my hands from Evelyn. "Thatβs the only explanation for why Cyrus continues to lead Summit Industries while Claraβs father sits in detention. Thereβs something there weβre missing."
"So how do we handle her?"
"Turn her over to the Council," I said coldly. "But make sure our people ensure she receives... rough treatment in their cells. I want her rotting there until I uncover exactly what Brownfur and Calypso have been plotting behind my back."
