The Destiny Villainess Wants Me To Work!-Chapter 55: No Attributes!
"Su Mo! You demon!"
When Yang Qingxi arrived at the back garden, she was greeted by a rather chaotic scene.
Sister Xulin was jumping and twisting frantically, flailing her arms as she tried to dodge continuous bursts of water fired by the Archer Fish. The attacks came one after another without pause, leaving her no time to catch her breath.
Not far away, Su Mo sat leisurely on the ground, munching on snacks. Beside him stood his Golden Rhino Beetle, eating bananas.
"I told you this was going to be tough," Su Mo chuckled, making a cheering gesture. "Keep going. You’ll get the hang of it."
Zhang Xulin had no time to respond. The Archer Fish continued shooting nonstop, giving her no opportunity to speak—or even curse properly.
"Oh, Miss Yang, you’re here," Su Mo said casually. He had already sensed her arrival. "Has your brother left?"
"Yeah," Yang Qingxi walked closer, glancing at the scene. "What’s going on here?"
"Sister Xulin asked me to train her."
Yang Qingxi immediately grew worried. "Is this really okay?"
Su Mo spread his hands. "You know the practice method of the Berserker Breathing Sutra. With this training, if she dodges, she improves her reflexes. If she gets hit, it helps her cultivation."
Seeing that Yang Qingxi was still uneasy, he reassured her. "Don’t worry. They control the intensity—it won’t kill her."
"Once she accumulates enough injuries, I’ll heal her," he added. "This training is a win-win."
Yang Qingxi’s brows twitched at the words win-win. "But this training is too brutal."
Su Mo didn’t deny it. Compared to people like them—who could improve their cultivation easily with the help of the system—ordinary cultivators had no shortcuts. Their path was destined to be filled with hardship and struggle.
"Miss Yang," Su Mo said calmly, "don’t deny her determination. Even though it looks like she’s cursing me, Sister Xulin hasn’t stopped even once or asked me to stop Little Silvers."
Yang Qingxi nodded. She could see that clearly, and it made her admire Sister Xulin’s perseverance.
"Wait," she said suddenly. "Little Silvers?"
"Oh, that’s just the nickname I gave the Archer Fish," Su Mo replied. "My Rhino Beetle has one too."
He waved at the massive insect. "Little Goldie, come here. Say hello to Miss Yang."
The corner of Yang Qingxi’s lips twitched at the absurdity.
To her shock, the dog-sized Golden Rhino Beetle raised its front legs and waved as if greeting her.
"This lady is your master’s boss," Su Mo said seriously. "Remember to always curry favor with her."
Little Goldie nodded as though it understood and stared at Yang Qingxi intently.
Yang Qingxi forced a stiff smile and cautiously stepped forward, reaching out to touch its horn.
"Little Goldie is very happy," Su Mo said with a smile.
"It seems so," Yang Qingxi replied, withdrawing her hand.
She then turned to face him. "Su Mo, can you teach me some techniques?"
"Hm?" Su Mo asked in confusion. "Why bother learning them? Can’t you just buy them from the system?"
At his question, Yang Qingxi’s face flushed slightly. She lowered her head and muttered in a mosquito-like voice, "I don’t want to waste my luck points."
At Su Mo’s current strength, it was the same as speaking directly into his ears.
"That makes sense," he nodded. "Right now, it’s better not to waste points on anything other than cultivation levels."
Su Mo himself was suffering from a shortage of points. Although he gained some daily, the amount was too small to be of much use. At this rate, buying anything valuable from the system store felt unrealistic.
[If I earn an average of 100 points a day...] he calculated silently, [I’d need a thousand days just to buy one S-rank technique.]
That was nearly three years—for a single technique—and only if he bought nothing else.
As for the daily check-in rewards, the chances of getting something good were far too low and completely dependent on luck.
"So?" Yang Qingxi asked, snapping him out of his thoughts.
"Well... alright," Su Mo replied.
Yang Qingxi smiled. She had known he wouldn’t refuse her, but hearing it still made her happy.
Su Mo pondered for a moment before he asked, "Which technique do you want to learn?"
Then he looked at her and asked again, "What’s your affinity?"
"Huh? Affinity?" Yang Qingxi froze.
"Yes," Su Mo nodded, noticing her confusion. "You can only learn techniques related to the elements you have an affinity with—Fire, Water, Wind, Earth, Thunder, Yin, or Yang. Which one do you have?"
[Not to brag, but I have all of them.]
Upon hearing his inner voice, Yang Qingxi raised her brows and answered honestly. "I didn’t know that."
Then she continued. "Wait, let me check."
’System, open my status panel.’
[Ding!]
[Information is being retrieved.]
A panel appeared in her mind.
[Destiny Villainess: Yang Qingxi]
[Age: 24]
[Cultivation: Qi Condensation (Level 2)]
[Luck Value: 50]
[Affinity: None]
[Special Abilities: None]
[Special Techniques: None]
[Techniques: None]
[Luck Points: 1170]
Although she had already guessed the result, seeing the empty panels still felt heartbreaking.
’No affinity?’ Her eyes widened. ’Then how am I supposed to learn any techniques?’
[Ding!]
[System Store is being opened.]
[Random Attribute Affinity: 5000 Luck Points (Note: The price increases after each purchase.)]
Yang Qingxi’s expression twisted in disgust.
"Well?" Su Mo asked. "Did you check?"
She sighed. "I don’t have any attributes. If I want one, I need to buy it through random selection in the system store."
Su Mo was surprised, then looked at her with sympathy. "Then you can only learn Non-Attribute techniques."
"Do you have any?" Yang Qingxi asked, meeting his gaze.
Su Mo nodded. "I have two—Wall Walking Technique (E-Rank) and Body Flicker Technique (D-Rank)."
He paused before adding, "If you learn them now, they’ll serve as a foundation when you practice Empty Steps in the future."
Yang Qingxi’s crimson eyes lit up with excitement. She clenched her fists and urged. "Then what are we waiting for? Let’s get started!"
