The Destiny Villainess Wants Me To Work!-Chapter 111: Trust Me!
When Chu Jing and Xiao Mu returned to the party hall, the atmosphere had already changed.
The earlier elegance and light chatter had been replaced by a strange stillness, as if everyone was waiting for something to happen. Their eyes instinctively turned toward the stage, and what they saw made both of them pause.
Chu Zhenwu was already standing there.
And beside him stood a man with a confident smile... and an appearance so out of place that even the dimmest corners of the hall seemed more refined than him.
His clothes were cheap, he looked like a beggar, and yet he stood under the spotlight as if he belonged there.
Xiao Mu’s lips twitched slightly.
He leaned closer to Chu Jing and spoke in a low voice, "Is he the outstanding man your grandfather chose for you?"
Chu Jing’s expression stiffened. She stared at the stage, her throat moving slightly as she swallowed.
"Surely not... right?"
Even as she said it, her voice lacked confidence.
"He shouldn’t hate me to that extent..." she muttered, but the doubt in her eyes betrayed her completely.
At that moment, Xiao Mu’s phone vibrated.
He lowered his gaze and glanced at the message.
[No matter what happens, don’t go near the stage. Otherwise, don’t complain to me later.]
Leng Shuang’s eyes narrowed slightly.
It was from her master.
That single line was enough for her to understand that something terrible was about to happen.
Her gaze lifted toward the stage again, lingering briefly on the two figures standing there.
A faint, almost amused expression appeared on her face.
What kind of bad luck did they have... to provoke her master?
Meanwhile, on the stage—
Chu Zhenwu stepped forward, his presence attracting immediate attention. The murmurs in the hall quieted almost instantly.
"I have an important announcement," he said, his voice steady and clear.
The moment those words fell, Chu Jing’s heart skipped.
She knew.
She didn’t need to hear the rest to know what her grandfather was about to do.
"No..." she muttered, her expression changing as panic surfaced. "I have to stop him."
She took a step forward instinctively—
But before she could move further, her wrist was caught.
"What are you doing, Xiao Mu? Let me go." Her voice carried urgency now, almost pleading. "I can’t let Grandpa make such a mistake."
She struggled slightly, trying to free herself.
But Xiao Mu stepped forward, blocking her path completely, his grip firm but not rough enough to hurt her.
"Just stay here and watch," he said, calmly. "Trust me."
"Xiao Mu, we can’t let them—"
"I know."
His voice wasn’t loud. Yet it carried a strange weight.
"Just wait... and watch the show."
For some reason, those words made her pause.
The urgency in her movements slowly faded, replaced by hesitation. She looked at him for a moment longer, then let out a quiet breath.
"I didn’t want Grandpa to embarrass himself," she said softly. "Fine... if this is what he wants..."
Her gaze turned cold as she looked toward the stage.
"I’ll reject him in front of everyone."
"Let’s see how he keeps his face then."
Leng Shuang’s lips twitched faintly.
She didn’t think things would go that smoothly.
In fact, she almost felt a trace of pity for Chu Jing’s grandfather.
If he had truly offended her master... then tonight would not end with mere embarrassment.
Even if the one being targeted wasn’t him, but the grinning fool standing beside him—
Anyone associated with it... would not escape cleanly.
---
Not far away, Su Mo lowered his phone after sending the message.
A faint smile appeared on his lips as he turned toward Yang Qingxi.
"Friendly units have been notified," he said lightly. "No risk of friendly fire now. Miss Yang, are we ready? Where’s the card?"
Yang Qingxi rolled her eyes, but still took out a card from her purse.
"Are you sure this will work?" she asked, her tone slightly doubtful. "What if he just runs away after we use it?"
Su Mo patted his chest confidently.
"For that, we have this."
He took out another card and showed it to her.
Yang Qingxi glanced at it, and her brows twitched immediately.
"Squat Card...?" she read the item description, her expression turning strange. "You’re combining this with the other one you made me buy?"
She looked at him again.
"You really left no way out for Lin Fan."
Su Mo grinned.
"That’s not all."
Yang Qingxi’s heart skipped slightly.
There was more?
Before she could ask, a group of reporters suddenly entered the hall, accompanied by cameramen.
Their sudden arrival instantly disrupted the atmosphere. Several businessmen frowned, clearly displeased.
Yang Qingxi turned her head sharply toward Su Mo.
"...Don’t tell me this is also you."
Su Mo chuckled.
"I just asked Manager Wang to let them in," he said casually. "They were so excited that they’re broadcasting this party live across major channels."
"...What?"
Yang Qingxi’s expression changed completely.
There was a shock. As well as a hint of horror.
"If Ye Chen only became famous because of a murder case..." she muttered slowly, "then Lin Fan... will be socially dead after tonight."
Su Mo’s smile widened slightly.
"Exactly."
He looked toward the stage, his eyes calm yet cold.
"If Lin Fan wants to rise, money and power aren’t enough. Reputation and connections are just as important."
"After tonight—" he paused slightly. "Let’s see which sane person would still dare associate with him."
Yang Qingxi felt a chill run down her spine.
This method... was clean. But ruthless.
Even disgusting in a way she doesn’t want to describe.
Compared to him, her so-called "villainess title"...feels somewhat hollow.

On the other side of the hall, Chu Daxing stood with Chu Zhiyuan, both looking toward the stage.
"Dad... are you serious?" Chu Zhiyuan frowned deeply. "Grandpa is really going to make that loser marry Chu Jing?"
Chu Daxing sighed, his expression helpless.
"I don’t know what kind of idea that old man has suddenly developed," he said. "Calling him ’outstanding’ and all that..."
"What’s wrong with him?" Chu Zhiyuan muttered, clearly dissatisfied. "First, he slapped me in public... now he’s bringing this kind of person into the family?"
