The Dawn of the New World-Chapter 1324 Freedom Earned
Hao Xuan's hand trembled as he contemplated whether or not to snap him out of reality but in the end, despite what he thought was a betrayal of the highest order, he decided against it.
He pulled back allowing Gavril to sit up.
Hao Xuan turned around and started walking away, "Get out of my face. I don't ever want to see you again. You are nothing more than a failed experiment...What I wouldn't give to trade a hundred of you for one loyal soldier like Arthur."
It would be a lie if Gavril said those words didn't hurt him. He always believed Hao Xuan to be more like an older brother than some 'great savior' so every word was personal.
"I'm sorry," he muttered weakly but Hao Xuan didn't even bother to respond before he forced himself awake.
He opened his eyes back in his tired body sitting in the forest but...something had changed. There was a thin red booklet and an envelope in his hand.
Hao Xuan frowned upon seeing them but he quickly understood they were from Gavril. A part of him wanted to throw it away but the other part was curious enough to inspect it first.
The booklet was made from different patches of brown leather and gave off an extremely strange energy, one that he had not sensed in a very long time.
*Beep*
[Traces of Extra-planer Energy Detected]
His hands shook when he realized what it was.
"It's a book of demonic arts!" he exclaimed lightly while brushing his finger over the leather cover.
"This is human skin...why the fuck would you give me this?!"
He put the booklet aside and opened the envelope. It was a single page with some terrible handwriting scribbled across both sides.
"If you are reading this then that means our conversation ended before I could tell you everything so I will start from the beginning." I think you should take a look at
"Firstly, the book contains a skill of demonic descent that allows the user to borrow energy from their future self for a certain price. Dai Zhi mentioned it in passing but he never used it himself so I stole it on the way out. Don't use it if you have any other choice, it is possible he could have been lying about it from the beginning because he never trusted me that much."
"Secondly, Ensis is still alive and well. He did everything he could to help the princess while staying close to Dai Zhi all this time. Right now he is the second most trustworthy person Dai Zhi has on this world."
"Third, the princess is being tracked. She has a parasite in her blood that sends her location to Dai Zhi every six hours."
"Fourth, Dai Zhi is stronger than you think. He absorbed the princess's bloodline and completed his transformation by receiving the full inheritance of the First Vampire. He is essentially an immortal by now so don't even think about fighting him head-on without ample preparation."
"Fifth, it's essentially just you two left here now. All the other powers either left or died off but the demon scourge is stronger than ever before. There are two Minor Demons present in this world with their complete forms and they are comparable to your Saint Realm cultivators."
The writing until here was still somewhat legible but the last few lines looked like chicken scratches. It looked like he wrote them down in a hurry.
"Sixth- RUN! Dai Zhi sent me here to push you towards your camp so he could kill everyone at once but I was followed by that bow-user Micha. I guess he didn't trust me so he came after me with several people. He will probably kill you if he finds you so you need to get as far away as possible."
"I know where you are headed, I have marked a location that you can use to rest for a little while but you need to get away from Micha first. That place should be able to hide you for a few hours, just until you can recover some energy. And...I'm sorry to leave you in your time of need but...I have something very important to do. I swear to come back once I can be of more help."
"Please, return to the beast world while you still can, Dai Zhi will never stop hunting you otherwise. Even now he is coming after you with everything at his disposal."
*Sigh*
Hao Xuan crumbled up the paper and stored it away in his storage space before getting up.
He looked in the direction of the cliff that he saw in the dream state.
"Don't come back. You have done more than enough to earn your freedom...I can handle this myself."
Hao Xuan bent down to pick up Princess Ceni before sprinting off in the direction of the secret location Gavril had left for him.
