The Darling of Heaven Owns a Rip-off Shop-Chapter 60: Heaven’s Chosen Son 3
Ye Chenfeng and Yang Shirui headed to the square on the main peak. Whenever new disciple assessments took place, many mirrors would be erected here to display the situations of those participating in the entry assessments. The purpose of this was twofold: one, to allow already admitted disciples to supervise and observe together; and two, for the bored ones to enjoy a spectacle.
Tianmiao watched countless mirrors of different sizes reflecting those people coming up the mountain to take the assessment and grumbled to herself; the real purpose was probably the latter. For the bored ones to enjoy a spectacle. After all, the cultivation journey is monotonous and boring.
Actually, these mirrors and Tianmiao’s Heavenly Mechanism Mirror are entirely different concepts. These mirrors rely on various small arrays set up at the foot of the mountain to project the scenes within the range covered by a particular array; anything beyond that range cannot be projected.
The Heavenly Mechanism Mirror, however, is capable of showing anything Tianmiao wishes to see, as long as she wants.
The arrival of Yang Shirui and Ye Chenfeng attracted a lot of attention.
Many people whispered in amazement.
"It’s Senior Brother Ye and Senior Sister Yang."
"I feel like Senior Brother Ye seems even more imposing than last time."
"Of course, Senior Brother Ye’s talent is said to be a once-in-a-millennium occurrence and the best in the world."
"Really? Is Senior Brother Ye’s talent the best today?"
"Truly, this statement wasn’t made by our Canglang Sect but by two other sects..."
Yang Shirui listened to those praises about Ye Chenfeng, and a sense of pride rose in her chest. Such an incredible person is her fiancé!
Then, Yang Shirui enthusiastically surveyed the mirrors, seemingly searching for someone.
"Hey, Senior Brother Ye, look, it’s him. Senior Brother Tang mentioned earlier that this is the person with extraordinary talent." Yang Shirui was indeed looking for someone and quickly found that rumored individual.
The reason was simple: because this person was genuinely special, instantly noticeable in the crowd.
This was a man with quite a distinctive appearance. With slightly curly hair, handsome features, his eyes showed a hint of dark green, his brows were unruly, and there was a slight playful curve to his lips.
Yang Shirui’s eyes widened, staring at the man in the mirror. At this moment, as if sensing something, the man glanced in this direction. It seemed as though he made eye contact with Yang Shirui.
Yang Shirui’s heart jolted, her heartbeat suddenly accelerated. She hurriedly turned away, not daring to look further.
Ye Chenfeng didn’t notice any of this—or rather, there was nothing here that could catch his attention.
Tianmiao looked at the scene, slightly raising her eyebrows.
Could it be the cliché betrayal story where the fiancée betrays, and the fiancé along with his family gets hurt, leading to his awakening and regret, wishing he’d never met her, wishing his family wasn’t harmed?
If only the story were that trite and straightforward!
Tianmiao scoffed inwardly.
The mission of this world is anything but simple.
Chaos must have a reason for choosing this world. But what is that old bastard really planning by sending her here early?
How long Chaos has existed, Tianmiao doesn’t know.
Tianmiao does understand Chaos’s ways.
Appearing very reliable, steady, always selecting problem worlds for her to resolve. However, this old bastard occasionally acts erratically, for no particular reason—just impulsively because he wants to.
"You stay here and watch; I’m heading back," Ye Chenfeng said as he turned to leave. Such assessments happen every year; he really wasn’t interested. All he wanted now was to return and ponder over sword moves.
"Mm." Yang Shirui didn’t attempt to retain him as she usually would but straightforwardly affirmed and then surreptitiously glanced back at the mirror once more.
