The Darling of Heaven Owns a Rip-off Shop-Chapter 342 - 49: The Elf Prince’s Wish
"This is the one." Tianmiao glanced at the opened coffin and shouted to Xia Chuanyue, who was still frantically flipping stone coffins on the other side. She would never admit that she deliberately wanted to see the awkward look of Xia Chuanyue apologizing while flipping coffins, which was why she found the correct coffin so late.
Xia Chuanyue hurriedly caught up to look. Inside the coffin was a female vampire’s mummified corpse, which appeared to have been dead for a long time. Her long chestnut hair was scattered around, and her hands were crossed on her chest, looking very serene.
However, looking down, you would discover that the limbs of this female corpse were entirely severed and pieced together into the coffin. This was a double stone coffin, and the empty space to the right of the female corpse was just enough for a man to lie beside her.
"Who, who is this?" Xia Chuanyue’s eyes widened, "What’s her relationship with that Jerry? There must be a connection, right?"
Tianmiao never did anything pointless.
"See for yourself." Tianmiao grasped Xia Chuanyue’s hand and directly extended it towards the direction of the female corpse’s heart.
"Ah?!" Xia Chuanyue exclaimed in surprise, but soon, her expression changed. Her hand passed through the chest cavity of the female corpse and touched a beating heart. Then, some images that did not belong to her memories rushed into her mind.
These belonged to the past of Jerry and this female corpse.
A hundred years ago, when humans and vampires still waged war in this world, the young vampire Jerry fell in love with a human girl. Because of their union and kisses, the girl gradually developed vampire traits, fearing sunlight and growing fangs at night.
The girl’s identity was that of a general’s daughter. She lived in Shuide City, and for a long time, she constantly strived for a ceasefire and harmonious coexistence between humans and vampires.
Her love for Jerry made her even more convinced that not all vampires wanted to harm humans. She proposed signing a peace treaty and invited Dawn Academy to establish an array to deter vampires from preying on humans, aiming to reassure those still hesitant human hearts. Eventually, the King endorsed her idea, and everything seemed to be heading towards a beautiful direction.
However, some humans always rejected vampires, believing those creatures, destined to live in darkness, could not possibly have compassion as the girl claimed. Even though most people were persuaded and willing to end this lengthy and exhausting war, a few still refused to let it cease.
For instance, some vampire hunters who made a living this way, or a handful of people whose families were killed by vampires, were unwilling to embrace such peace.
That day, on the morning of the peace treaty signing day, the girl kissed Jerry goodbye, telling him to wait at home for her good news. Jerry wanted to accompany her, but the girl reassured him to wait at home.
Jerry finally relented and waited for her return at their small manor outside the city.
But, he did not wait for his lover’s return.
Instead, he received news of her death.
The girl was murdered on her way to attend the peace treaty signing.
And it was an extremely brutal murder.
The girl’s head and limbs were chopped off and carelessly thrown into a remote alleyway.
Jerry frantically searched and pieced together the girl’s mutilated body. Then he touched her slightly bulging belly. Originally, he was about to be a father, but everything was destroyed.
